I don't mind the posters like Norm Smith above who at least put their rumours out there that they've heard without trying to argue they are correct or going to happen. I much rather that than those who swear black and blue something is true only for it to not get close to happening.

I also gather, both from what he said and the statement on our website, that they don't regard Sylvia as a huge loss either...

Perfect time to trade him as his currency will never be higher. We have enough tall forwards so he can be used to help us bolster our midfield depth.

If you read the rest of the rumours they have just lifted them from summary articles like the one on the AFL page. If that info had come from a few journos or something THEN my curiosity would have been piqued, but not by a FB page.

When people pressed them for a source to this rumour this is what they came out with: "TRADE Melbourne have came out and said there interested and there have been reports saying Rockliffl doesnt like the clubs direction to success" I wouldn't get my hopes up at all if I were you, just another page that leeches off forum rumours and things they throw together.

Wouldn't surprise me if they got it off here to be honest!

It was exactly that the moment Rawlings was spotted heading to Brisbane, with a Melbourne folder no less!! Don't get me wrong, I'd love someone at Rockliff at the club as he would be a perfect fit for our midfield, but we would have to move heaven and earth to get him while he is still under contract. Giving up Pick 2 and an average big man to get Rockliff AND Pick 7 is so far off a decent deal it isn't funny, but that's this time of the year for you!

Brisbane wouldn't give us Rockliff AND Pick 7 for Pick 2 and Fitzpatrick. That's a rubbish deal for Brisbane. Rockliff is worth a Pick 2 on his own. Fitzy isn't worth Pick 7. And offering him the captaincy is just as silly. How would that make the others feel? Would splinter the group big time.

I'd be disappointed if he revealed who it was, that's not for us to know. The info he has given is insightful, interesting and more than enough. No need to ask for a name.

Easily the worst. Maybe there needs to be a thread for serious rumours supported by quotes from the media, radio etc and this one for rumours with no foundation at all...?

Devalues it in the sense that GWS won't be as keen to trade their pick and hold on to it. SOS was saying yesterday how keen they were to trade it, but that would on the back of the belief they had Buddy int he bag. Our pick still holds plenty of currency though.

This is spot on. Others have posted rumours in here and not been shot down in the slightest. It's one thing to post them, but one thing entirely different to have the credibility to do so, and as hartack has mentioned he is simply riding on the back of Facebook and Twitter rumours and claiming a mate has told him about it.

His manager said on radio today he hasn't even spoken to us. Could end up being much like Caddy in that he has interest, big interest, from the bigger clubs and we don't factor into the equation. Annoying but understandable.
