  1. Don't make the mistake of writing a guy like Adams off - the kid can seriously play footy, and has been one of the best performed mids for GWS outside of Toby Greene and Callan Ward in their first two seasons in the comp. Tyson will be a star, but so will Adams.
  2. If we got one of Freeman, Sheed or Crouch with Pick 9 then it's a big win for the club. If we still recruit Vince then we have added to the list Hogan, Tyson, Pick 9, Vince and Michie. That's a very good off season for our club, and our best one for a long, long time.
  3. Our midfield is certainly taking shape. A young core of Viney, Toumpas, Tyson, Michie and Pick 9 to go with Jones, Trengove, Grimes and possibly Vince means we are looking much, much better already.
  4. Unless you think about it like this: Pick 2 for Tyson, who was pick 3 just two years ago and he's had 2 years already in the system. Pick 9 for Pick 20. Pick 53 for Pick 74. I really, really like this deal. He will be a 10 year player for us and is just the sort of midfielder we need. Would much rather him than Kelly, Aish or Billings, players so many have said we don't need due to their build.
  5. Here is what Knightmare had to say in his Phantom Draft from 2011: #3 GWS - Dom Tyson (VIC - Mid) Height: 186cm, Weight: 82kg, DOB: 08/06/1993 Recruited from: Oakleigh Chargers Style: Simon Black Player comparison: Range: 3-5 Profile: Real standout throughout the champs and has really risen up the rankings in a hurry. Really good genuine footballer who doesn’t stand out athletically, but can do it all. Left footer, but can use his right, and use it well when he needs to. Has a really high work rate and has great endurance. Has great vision. Skill level is exceptional for an inside player and has all the footy smarts and decision making ability you could hope for. Big time ball accumulator who should have a fairly immediate impact at the next level through the midfield. Why: It is Tyson v Wingard for this selection. I think Wingard is the better talent, but I do think with the way Tyson performed throughout the U18 champs and the way he closed out the season that he might just go that one selection highe
  6. We just confirmed this is the whole deal: Dom Tyson, pick 9 and pick 53 to us. Picks 2, 20 and 74 to the Giants. Still a great deal. We will still probably trade our Sylvia compo pick for Vince and then use Picks 9, 36 and 53 on players/upgrades.
  7. Pick 2 for Dom Tyson, Pick 9 and Pick 53 - confirmed on Melbourne twitter! Great deal!!
  8. Waiting to see what picks are exchanged before getting too excited but getting Dom Tyson is fantastic!! Richmond and others were keen last year for early picks and he is just what we need. Not Shiel but the next best thing!
  9. People seem to be under the impression that Shiel actually wants to play for us. Has he said that yet? He is under contract and can tell us to get stuffed. Long, long, long way from getting our hands on the bloke, no matter how much we want him in the red and blue.
  10. Who gives a stuff about Pedersen right now? This is a rumour thread, not a Pedersen thread. I click the link to see if there has been any news and we all have to sift through waves and waves of pointless crap.
  11. Activated compo pick. Obviously it isn't a sure thing. I'd love Shiel as well but clearly that isn't on the table.
  12. Unless Lyons doesn't want to come to us. Vince has missed a handful of games over the past 3 seasons, so I don't think his knee issues are a major concern. The club would have conducted the medical tests as well, so if we are offering 3 years with an option for a 4th they must not look too bad.
  13. I know Buntine suffered a punctured lung and a broken rib in this years NAB Cup that caused him to miss 8-10 weeks so he didn't get started until well into the season. Hasn't set the world alight like a Shiel but has the talent and a few years in the system which would allow him to come in and have an immediate impact. Same as Bugg.
  14. What you want and what you get are two totally different things...
  15. I posted what Knightmare said about Buntine a couple of years ago. Bugg was a pre-selection so someone with better knowledge than me may be able to enlighten us a bit more, but from what I know he can play across half back and through the middle as well.
  16. Here was what Knightmare said about Buntine is his 2011 phantom draft: "Profile: Real standout in this year’s draft who had a surprisingly poor u18 championships but was struggling with injury at the time, so that is forgivable. None the less is an absolute standout talent in this year’s draft. Can play down back or through the midfield well and has that really high skill level and ability to read the play. Reads the ball very well. Very good user of the footy. Can play against players of all sizes and can shut down opposition dangermen. Can play off his man and provide super rebound. Has no problem winning the hard ball. Not a high level athlete but his smarts more than compensate for this. Has that flexibility to play the role you need him to play. " Sounds pretty good to me. Always thought of him as a backman but is 188cm, 84kg, and can well and truly play through the middle or across half back by the sounds of it. Could we add Michie, Vince, Buntine, Bugg and someone with Pick 9? Doesn't sound too bad to me.
  17. Interested to see what people think of this deal. Buntine, Bugg and Pick 9 for Pick 2. We add a younger backman who is highly rated, a good if unspectacular footballer in Bugg and a pick inside the top 10 for our second selection. I think it's a decent deal, not one to jump for joy over but certainly not a bad one either.
  18. Not surprising though, plus that pick may end up being 22-23 once compo picks go through. What I found more interesting was what GWS have offered for Pick 2 - Matt Buntine, Tom Bugg and Pick 9. Not sure how I feel about that.
  19. If you don't like photos of someone in Europe then I find it ironic you are happy to draft Dayle Garlett, the king of photos...
  20. Like the thinking but we still need to use 3 picks in the draft. I'd say we will trade a couple of those, but something tells me that if we get a player/players for pick 2 then we may not make too many more deals after that.
  21. They reckon SOS is in love with Josh Kelly and would love to get both he and Boyd in this draft. No idea what GWS are offering but they at least have some young midfielders who would make a difference to our side.
  22. Can't complain one bit about this trade. Used the right pick and got someone with potential upside after injury curtailed the early part of his career. Looking forward to seeing what he can do.
