With the right recruits, and key players staying fit, I don't necessarily disagree with this. We all know we lack midfield talent, but if we can start to rectify this through this trade period then I have no doubt we will win more games of football. What you posted about Shaw is different to what you first posted - you said that if he doesn't go to Geelong, he'll be a Dee. Now you say we are only meeting with him to see where he is at. Make up your mind. I don't discount that we may meet with him, but to blatantly suggest he will automatically come to us when we haven't even met him yet his wrong.

It's not that I'm not keen on it, it's more that I just don't think the Crows would trade him away, or he would want to come to Melbourne. I like the idea of trading pick 2 for some proven talent as I think, this year, it's exactly what we need. We need some guys who can come in and make an instant impact, not another 18 year old kid. I still think the right deal is out there, and still have time on our side. Just don't think Sloane is our man.

I think you well and truly did, but we will have to agree to disagree. The Crows may want Aish and are keen to get into the top end of the draft but I highly doubt it will come at the cost of one their most important players, who is already a proven talent. But, as you say, we'll see.

Think you are mis-reading it - what they mean is that if we end up with Vince and Lyons it will be through two completely separate deals.

I don't have time to trawl through every one of their threads, particularly one that has over 650 pages. We are heavily into him going by a few posters there. Fair enough. No idea where you got that he was seriously considering it from though although you've either grabbed that from earlier in the thread or just assumed it. Funny that they believe that if the deal happened they would expect a second rounder for a bloke who has played 12 games and not shown a whole lot.

I'd love to see which Crow fans these are as nothing comes up on BigFooty. If you could point me in the right direction of this info that's worth a new thread I'd be very appreciative.

Rubbish. We could have an A grade midfield and he still wouldn't know what to do with it. Pedersen can play as a third tall if we need him. Dunn or Grimes can also play that role on certain types of players but it's a fair point. We would have to draft in a tall back with a later pick for extra cover, but we're not too bad if a deal like that happened.

Could also be saying that Dom Tyson isn't worth Pick 2, so adding Pick 10 and Blease evens the deal a little more.

Not bad at all, although as you suggest some may argue the loss of McDonald and Pick 2 for those guys sees us over paying, but I've thought McDonald is not as good as some suggest. Kicking is horrible and he panics with the ball in his hands.

That sounds closer to the money. No chance GWS would give us Tyson AND Shiel for Pick 2 and Blease. This one is at least more realistic. We then keep Pick 10, trade our two second rounders for Myers and Vince and we start to have some semblance of a midfield.

Of course we would, it's well and truly in our favour.

So does anyone REALLY know if we are a legit chance of nabbing Shiel, or are we just holding on to a few rumours in the hope that we nab him?
