  1. Yeah, yeah. No worries. I won't comment any further as I don't want the thread derailed by the usual slop.
  2. I saw it differently. I'm not making excuses for the player he often is but he didn't squib the contest.
  3. Have a listen to you blokes. Watts can't win. Puts his head over the ball, rather than squibbing the contest, and he still cops crap. Stay classy guys.
  4. Riley is a tackling machine. Being outnumbered a bit up forward which hurts as we've worked pretty hard.
  5. Big 5 minutes coming up. Port getting a bit of momentum, don't want them to get cheap and easy goals to undo our good start.
  6. Pig Dog with the brilliant tackle... and the miss. Sums up our season to this point. Noticed that Brad Johnson blamed the conditions for Hartlett being pinged than the tackle. Muppet.
  7. And it didn't when we got rid of McDonald. Goes both ways.
  8. The only way to do that is wait on Frawely to leave, get the compo pick and then trade that for both of them if they were interested in doing it. I don't see any other way.
  9. Then you missed my point. I was trying to say that we wouldn't match the overall tone of the round so far as we rarely seem to do it. You brought up a game from 2 months ago. I don't know where else to go with it.
  10. Was that an unexpected win? No.
  11. Not arguing that, but he still hasn't done a great deal. Bobs up and kicks a goal and then you don't see him for a quarter and a half. I'm just happy Roos has seen sense and made someone who has pace and skill the sub - making guys like Terlich the sub gives us very little, as would someone like Tapscott, who doesn't offer the same impact as a Kent would in this situation. It has to be somebody, this week it's Kent.
  12. All teams win unexpectedly, it just seems that we don't do it as often as other teams. DemonWorshipper mentioned above that our recent history has probably muddied our view of this and he is pretty much spot on. But I also fall into the category of seeing what has occured this round, the upset wins and GWS running the Cats all the way, and I have this feeling in the pit of my stomach that we won't come close to matching those previous 3 games. I'll be ecstatic to be proved wrong but, as I said earlier, our last decade of football doesn't provide us with as much hope as we would like.
  13. Love the sentiment, but our recent history suggests that we generally don't win these games at all. We've won a few but there are far more that we've lost. I guess you could throw in the 2002 example when we won against the Lions at the GABBA with Neitz kicking 7. One of my all time favourite games that one. We can do it, we just don't do it very often.
  14. If we can kick 10+ goals and be in the game for most of the afternoon that will be a small victory for us today. I hate going back to that line of thinking but after the last fortnight it would be good see us respond with some positive football.
  15. He hasn't done much for 3 weeks. Expected him to be the sub to give Blease and JKH an opportunity and he can come on and be the impact sub this week.
  16. Who are the key people we have lost to FA? Think carefully here.
  17. Or the leadership group were getting a vibe of where Ling is at and could then sit down and discuss whether he is someone they would be happy to play under. I'm sure they will get a say, even if it's small, as the club will want them united and ready to play under whoever they choose, and if it's someone they already approve of and look forward to working with then it can only help us.
  18. It was Jack Viney, apparently he is in talks with GWS. Well, olisik didn't specify after all...
  19. He should be at least considered before writing off blokes who haven't been on the list for 2 years yet, such as someone whose first name begins with Jimmy and last begins with Toumpas...
