I know the Crows have been through an extremely tough time, which is still an understatement, but it still annoys me that they would make a call to a bloke who is not only clearly contracted for another 4 years, but is also in place to be our senior coach beginning in 2017. I find it disrespectful. I know that's the landscape these days but I don't like it. Peter Jackson did say that the contract he has is water tight so he won't be going anywhere, so it's all a moot point even if they make the call.

Delistings/trades at end of the season

Agree, although he strikes me as someone who will try and find his way to Geelong, particularly if they miss out on Dangerfield. -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 16
Wiseblood replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
This is just the sort of game where a young nobody, like Daniel McStay, will bob up and kick 5-6 goals and be a match winner too. That might a little pessimistic but, c'mon, now that I've mentioned it you can't help but think that it CAN happen... -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 16

I wouldn't say you're wrong jumbo, and we have a few who could be lumped in as 'VFL at best'. At least he clearly continues to put in each week and, if we have to name an extended squad, he is probably stiff not to get a look in. -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 16

Point taken Samael. I wasn't knocking Viv as clearly he had a terrific game last weekend, and the review of the game clearly stated that he was one of our better players. I was making an assumption based on the fact he had only 2 tackles for the game when others had 10+ tackles. Just seemed to stick out to me that, in a game that would have had a truck load of stoppages, his low tackle count was surprise and may be down to not running both ways as hard as others. Guys like Newton and Toumpas, well known outside runners, were able to lay double figures in tackles. I'm probably drawing a long bow but, to me, that could be a reason why he was overlooked for someone like Riley. -
If we DONT beat Brisbane I will ...

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 16

Always going to be 'meh' changes no matter who it was. Slightly surprised Michie didn't get named, however, while he got 30 odd possies for Casey last week he only laid 2 tackles in the wet while many of the other players laid double digits in tackles. I'm merely assuming here but that screams of a bloke who doesn't work hard enough both ways, something we all know Roosy isn't a fan of. He might have had his papers stamped. -
There are some who will find the negatives in everything bing.

Delistings/trades at end of the season
Wiseblood replied to Northern Summer's topic in Melbourne Demons
To be fair here Adam, and I don't want to belabor the point as it's off topic, I compared some of Steve's posting to how a 50 year old woman reacts in a staff meeting - something I sit through on an all too regular basis and, therefore, something I relate to. That's just the way it is. And if you don't think following all the players' instagram accounts is acting just like a 13 year old girl, something they do much more than 13 year old boys, then that's up to you. It's not looking at females being lesser than males or vice versa, it was two simple comparisons I made. Nothing more, nothing less. -

Oh please. I made two comparisons that happened to be about women. Well done on drawing the longest bow possible about someone you don't know. I hope it made you feel better Adam, keep fighting the e-fight about absolutely nothing. -
Brisbane next week and the Saints the following week are two that come to mind.

How many times would we have said that this year? After the flogging from Hawthorn we all questioned Roos... then we roll the Dogs. Everyone cracks it when we lose to the Saints... then we roll Geelong in Geelong. I know the result yesterday sucked the big fat one, but we will win more games this year. We are more than good enough to do so.

Delistings/trades at end of the season

You sometimes remind me of a 50 year old woman at a staff meeting Steve - puts forth her opinion loudly, and when someone questions it or has a differing view they get all poopy and quickly side with anyone who agrees with them as if it vindicates their view. If Garland is such a big problem then what is your solution? Who do we have to fill his role? He is no world beater, far from it, but you can have a team of world beaters. He plays his role well and as far as I am concerned we don't have any better options to fill his position. We might be able to draft a young key position player but they take time - just look at the younger McDonald. He will take time. We can rebuild again, and unless there is someone to replace Garland with, we stick with a bloke who gives his all and frankly doesn't do much wrong. Frost MAY be a solution, but we don't know that yet. The kid has good pace and the size but is a questionable kick at best and a young kid who is unproven at AFL level. We don't have the freedom to be too risky with how we go about our list management at the moment. -
You're nothing but a [censored] stirrer and a prude mate. Everyone, in all walks of life, heads out to something on a Saturday night. These blokes shouldn't have to change their plans to suit a win or a loss. Stop acting like a 13 year old girl and following all their instagram accounts looking for something to get stuck into them for. Get a life.

I agree with this, and I also think there is an element of 'I don't want to be the one to stuff it up' and therefore they look for an easy option that is too often not there. They either need to take that first option or get it forward to a 1 on 1 contest. Not only does the indecision hurt but it also means that we are allowing them to get back quicker and get numbers around our forward line too easily. When we move it quickly we look sensational. When we are too indecisive we go back into old habits and look very, very average.

I still think Fitzpatrick would have been the logical choice to play on Daniher, but it's a moot point now.
-
I'd normally be one of those people looking for the positives within a loss... but I can't even do that today. Just a horrible feeling after this loss.
-
Neal-Bullen, Stretch, Harmes, even Brayshaw... they just didn't give us enough today. JKH had just 2 touches as the sub as well. There were others of course but our kids weren't nearly as good as theirs today.
-
Roos seems enamored with the idea that having an extra man at the contest is better than manning their loose player up. Clearly it's not working at all.
-
I don't think there are any possible excuses today. Too many kids? They had heaps. Tired from Darwin? They got smashed by 110 points last weekend. A few injuries? They have more. I think this feels worse than when they flogged us a few years back as there is no way in hell we should have lost this game of football. We've gone from beating Geelong and 'turning a corner' to losing to half a Bombers side on our home turf. I just don't even know what to think anymore.

I [censored] knew it. Nervous all week because I knew these guys would be up for it and we wouldn't be. Oh well.
-
Plus the radio is something you can throw and replace a little easier than a TV if things go pear shaped...
-
My hands are beginning to shake a bit.... I'm taping the game and keeping an eye on the scores today, can't watch this one if we start playing poorly, just can't handle it!!

Said in an interview this week that he doesn't want to play anywhere else but Carlton and they are already working on a new deal. He is keen to be a 1 club player and repay the faith the club has shown in him. So unless the Blues completely low ball him, which they won't, then he isn't going anywhere.
-
Carlton are [censored] terrible and the Tigers are a joke as well. I have no idea how this side can roll teams like Freo and the Swans.
