  1. He is if he doesn't lift his intensity. I'll back him in to do so.
  2. At least he cares about the club. He trains his guts out week in, week out and doesn't have much luck. Yes, he needs to kick more goals. Yes, he needs to improve his marking. But if we had a team full of blokes that trained as hard as he does and give everything they had for the club as he does then we wouldn't go far wrong. It's hardly his fault his body has betrayed him, nor is it his fault that we splashed the cash to get him. We thought he was worth it at the time. Regardless of his status in the side I think it's sad to see him break down again.
  3. Excellent training reports. Much appreciated guys. Love the tough stuff from Viney and I'm more than pleased to see McDonald retaliate as well. The intensity is obviously very high and that's what we want at this time of the year.
  4. I agree... in part. I'm far from a negative supporter and, as you mentioned, some of the wins we had last year were terrific. Wins we haven't had in a very long time. They weren't just against interstate sides at the G. They were fair dinkum victories. But we can't discount the other stuff either. Yes, we are a young side and yes, we are inconsistent. But this season will show us which was the anomaly in our season... the wins against great opposition or the poor losses against weak opposition. I'd like to think it's the latter that is the anomaly, but I'm not exactly holding my breath just yet.
  5. The Dees going once again for the cream of sum yung guy.... Aaaaaand I'll see myself out... On a serious note though this is only good news for the club. Another major partner means more $$$$ in the coffers and we can strengthen the links we already have with our Asian neighbours. Good stuff.
  6. I agree Bob, and with you as well dazzle. The Geelong game was an excellent insight into the potential of this team when things click. We were missing some key players as well that day which just goes to show how well we can play. It had been a long time since we had a win like that one. The weeks after that, however, highlighted that inconsistency. If we could go out and roll the Cats like that, why couldn't we then win games against Carlton? Or Essendon? All of it together shows that we are still an inconsistent, but improving, side. If we get it all to click on a regular basis then we will be a damn good football side.
  7. I don't think you've missed something, possibly it's more in the interpretation. It's easy to see the Geelong win, for example, as proof we have improved... but then have we? If we back that up with embarrassing losses to both Essendon and Carlton, can we truly say we have become a better side? 7 wins says we has, but until we back up a terrific win by beating sides we SHOULD be beating, then we can't keep coming back to those wins as a bastion of improvement.
  8. As you said in your previous post he makes a point that is rather evident, but I think what he is trying to say (and correct me if I'm wrong WJ) is that until we address the inconsistency on the field then wins like the Geelong one will quickly become meaningless. I think we all know we would certainly be trying to address this over the off season with a change in game plan and such, but it's one thing to do it there. We need to translate that to match day. Beating Geelong is fantastic, and I'm sure we all hope we can have those results again this year, but those wins won't mean anything in terms of our development as a club until we can also then eliminate the poor losses like we had last year.
  9. It should be on YouTube - I believe the highlights are there plus a few of the full quarters were uploaded as well.
  10. I thought what he was getting at would have been evident to 99.9% of the population. But that's just me. Carry on.
  11. No idea what this response means, I was merely explaining what happens on a forum with threads that are no longer relevant. Bit of PMS tonight for you, mate?
  12. Obviously you haven't been around forums much. Once the discussion is done it is locked and archived. It's rarely, if ever, deleted. That's the way it is.
  13. Totally agree Sue, otherwise you're trawling through 100 pages of the stuff. When it moves on to something different it only makes sense to freshen the discussion up with a new thread.
  14. I know you're probably looking for an argument here, but I'll clarify what I meant: I'm basing how he goes in the coaches box on how we play in the NAB Cup - what changes does he make? How does the game plan look? Does he seem to do anything different to Roos? I'm not looking to be critical about his performance, more that I'm looking forward to seeing what he will do differently when he is given the chance to be the 'coach'.
  15. I'm not terribly fussed with who we play - we will rest some, trial others and generally look at the list as a whole - but I'm far more interested in looking at some of the changes we've made to our game plan and seeing how Goodwin goes in the coaches box. If I can see some positives there, and we can limit our injuries, then I'll be happy.
  16. Currently they are playing our win over Collingwood in '07 with Robbo kicking 7. Love a good win over the filth. I remember someone uploading the highlights of this with some ripping music to it years ago but, alas, it got taken down.
  17. What difference does it make? Oh no, we aren't in an ad to do with the MCG. Quick, let's kick up a stink! It doesn't matter. Wining games will see us plastered all over the city. Until then...
  18. I wish I cared. But I don't.
  19. Absolutely. Once February hits it always seems as though the rehab group grows a little but it's simply because the training ramps up a little more with the match simulations, which in turn brings about far more physical contact to the players. Plus I don't mind a few niggles - it means we can take a look at a few younger players during the NAB Cup while they nurse them through to Round 1.
  20. Excellent reports all round guys. We are bound to get a few niggles here and there, it's the nature of the beast. We've still got a month and a half before the real stuff gets underway so it's plenty of time for the players to get themselves right once the training ramps up like it did today. Starting to get excited for the year ahead!
  21. Best post of the day! Great news!
  22. WJ deleted part of a post, that wasn't yours, that had the potential to derail the thread. Nothing to do your with your report mate! Cheers for going along and giving us some feedback!
  23. I'm not going to lie... Round 2 scares me...
  24. Good on you mate, happy to be aboard! Just let me know the info in terms of how many teams you have and so forth when you can. Looking forward to being a part of it if I get a gig!
  25. If it's scrappy for weeks then it's a concern. If it's crappy just once then I think we can settle down just a touch. Plenty of water to go under the bridge. Thanks for the sensational reports GRRM. It sounds as though there were a few going through the rehab group today - were some of them done as a precaution or do we have a few extra players with some niggles?
