  1. I know you're being slightly facetious there Clint, but as I think I brought up a few weeks back, at least they admitted their mistake and made the change. It's easy to be stubborn by trying to force something that clearly isn't working. Good on the FD for sucking it up and making the necessary changes.
  2. True - it wasn't one of his better days. However, if anyone has plenty of credits in the bank this year, then it's Nev. Everyone has an off day from time to time.
  3. Not sure if it's been specifically mentioned, but how good was Petracca's goal in the second term? The pick up, spin, push off and then goal was sublime. His sure hands at both ground level and in the air, as well as his explosiveness and ability to quickly change direction in a pack make him such an exciting prospect. Really looking forward to his second half of the year. And just quietly, I'm confident we can push the Swans all the way this Sunday as well. With a few players going down and their confidence taking a hit they are ripe for the picking. Could it be our turning point heading into the bye?
  4. You are right mate. Hurt his calf in the reserves and will apparently miss the next 3 weeks. Would have been the logical replacement for Tippett. Looks like Rohan may get up for this weekends game as well. Hunt will be the perfect opponent for him.
  5. And that's all we need to ask of him right now, to play solid footy. He's spoiling well, getting to the right positions and using it well on the rebound. We can't ask for much more than that.
  6. You would think there will be no changes to that side. The only possible inclusion would be Garlett, but where do you fit him in?
  7. Fantastic stuff. Some will lament some poor decision making at times, and we turned it over a little, but the intent and willingness of the players to run hard was simply fantastic. This is not a fickle and soft club anymore. Gawn was immense and the midfield smashed theirs. Kennedy responded superbly and our backline was fantastic. They make the odd mistake but the kids were alright today. When the press works it works VERY well. Our forward line was great as well. Kent had a ripper, Hogan got 3, Dawes worked his backside off and Petracca... well... this kid is going to be something. And the cherry on the top? Sticking it up the Pies!
  8. I hope the back page is this tomorrow: Pies, and Buckley, are GAWN!
  9. Nasher must be on a mega chubby right now. This is awesome to watch!
  10. Done deal for me if we can squeeze Jack Hannath in there as well....
  11. It's been reported in the papers over the last 24 hours - Herald Sun had it on their back page this morning.
  12. It's the same stuff on every team's website that plays some form of professional sport. Check out the sites for EPL, NFL, NBA... it's all the same sort of stuff. It's better than 'Whiteboard Wednesday's' at any rate.
  13. Yep, looks all but certain. With his current form that will be a big out for the Pies, as much as I hate to type that. I don't know what to make of today's game. Pies are under strength but their midfield is still terrific and, as others have pointed out, they worked their bums off all day, something we don't do as often as we should. I still think we should win, though, as I think regaining Viney will give us that extra edge in the clinches.
  14. So one game cancels out the previous 10? The bloke is a gun and you know it. Viney has been tagged out of games this year, would you consider him steak knives at best?
  15. Well then they'll have to come up with something pretty bloody good, as Fyfe or Neale are the only players on their list who we would be interested in. And John - Hogan has shown far more than just 'potential'. He's easily one of, if not the, best young tall forward in the comp. They don't grow on trees.
  16. Fyfe has to be part of any deal. And that's the minimum.
  17. So is this a thread about the other games being played, or people still circle jerking over mistakes that were made years ago?
  18. I get what you're saying Ted, but let's be honest - there was every chance that Cloke, who has been smashed from pillar to post all season, was a rather large chance to come out and kick a bag of goals. It only ever happens to us.
  19. True, but have you taken a look at their forward line? It's not much chop either.
  20. Not to mention Cloke being dropped as well. He has been putrid but it's still a relief as I had this nightmare of him kicking 6. Garlett being dropped is 50/50 for me too - on one hand he is such a dangerous player in our forward 50, but on the other hand it sets a good precedent - the moment you don't do the team things and your form drops, you're out. Good message to send for the long term.
  21. Not the worst idea I've seen, rjay. He could have short stints on the ball as well, but keeping him up forward means keeping him out of most contests and takes the pressure off him a little. It's fantastic for us if he plays as I'm sure he can wear something protective on his hand. The Pies will try and niggle him but that will only serve to fire him up even more and push him to have 40 contests possessions.
  22. Possibly, although I'm not sure. I just know that for this entire season I've been pretty excited for each game, but this week? Not so much. I believe we're a huge chance of a win and going 6-6, but I just can't find that 'fire in the belly' so to speak.
  23. "Peace?" "Oh peace... SHUT UP!" Kind of feeling a bit emotionless for this game at the moment. Yeah, we'll make a couple of changes but none that makes me feel like it will swing the game any further in our favour. I think the addition of Kennedy will be good, if he's picked that is, but anything else is a little 'meh' for me at the minute. Might just be mid-season blues.
