  1. You're probably right dazzle. I can't see the club staying silent this week now that Casey's season is over. I doubt we'll see many surprises in the announcements, though.
  2. I wonder how long it will be before the club make a few announcements - you would assume that, regardless of the fact that Casey played on the weekend, that internally they would have made up their minds on at least some players. Dean Terlich, for example, won't be at the club next year. Everyone knows that. Do they give them the week, or do they get on with the list changes as soon as possible?
  3. Call me old fashioned, but I don't believe a word that's posted on Facebook. Any homosapien with half a brain cell can navigate it and post whatever they please.
  4. So you're suggesting that they had a crack till half time, remembered that they had been told they were being delisted, and came out flat after half time? What sort of logic is that?
  5. So what you've done is put all the news that's been reported on here, or in the media, in to one big post and claimed you've been 'told' about it? Right. And what player contracts are we holding out on? All the players who are required for next year are under contract. At most, they may be waiting on re-signing Dawes or Pedersen, but they hardly command big dollars that will impact on what we offer Jesse.
  6. Oh well. We lost the Grand Final, we move on with the list decisions. Can't believe people have the energy to dissect it in depth after the 23 rounds of the AFL season. There were zero surprises in that game - the kids go alright, the ones who aren't up to standard showed exactly why that's the case. End of story.
  7. Haven't read the thread, but let me guess - the sky is falling because we lost the game, yeah?
  8. Good, glad that's over. Now they can start making the delistings and we can get on with the off season.
  9. Such a mature response. At no point did I say you can't discuss it, just not to get in a huff over a hypothetical deal. Have a proper read of a post before you get so defensive.
  10. You contradict yourself - you say McCarthy has no value, but will go to the Dockers for a second round pick. If he had no value then he wouldn't get a second round pick. Regardless, there is no need to get your knickers in a twist over a hypothetical idea. Waste of time.
  11. Considering the players, picks and teams involved, this isn't all that bad of an effort. However, I still think we need a little more for Hogan. Pick 3 is spot on, as is Hibberd, but we need something more than James Stewart, although I see why you went with him as that ruckman/forward type that we need. I actually think Freo do alright in that deal - okay, losing Fyfe and Pick 3 is a tough pill to swallow, but they gain Hogan, Cam McCarthy and Pick 7. That's 2 forwards for the next 10 years and they still have a pick inside the Top 10. It will never happen, but I guess that's not the point.
  12. The fact he is contracted means we will need to cough something up to get him, and I really don't see him as an upgrade on anything we currently have. With the impending trade for Hibberd, and the return of Melksham, it will release others like Hunt and Salem to play on those wings with someone like Billy Stretch. I don't see a need for him at all.
  13. So do I, but not as much as I hate Geelong.
  14. He just loves playing against the Cats. Good on him I say!
  15. "Good moaning." Loving seeing the Cats get smashed. What a way to start the weekend!
  16. Better to give it to Zorko - at least he can get on the park on a consistent basis.
  17. Is AAC going for the record of how many threads someone can start on players during this trade period? Feels like you're up to about 20 so far. Bloke looks ok. Does nothing for me really.
  18. He was better in Pulp Fiction.
  19. There has been plenty of confirmation. Just because Jesse or the club hasn't spoken about it, which they shouldn't be doing in the public forum, doesn't mean it's not true. And I'd love you to prove that Goodwin went to his management and told them to get on with the job of re-signing him.
  20. The beauty of recruiting someone like Hibberd is the knock on effect - you can take the short, simplistic view that we've just gained another 'half back flanker'. We know that Hibberd is a very good half back flanker, for a start, and it gives us more options. With his recruitment, it can allow other guys like Hunt and Salem to play further up the field and use their weapons (kicking and speed respectively) where it can be more damaging than before. Hibberd is terrific one on one, is a very good kick and is cool under pressure. Not to mention he brings further experience to our backline, something we are still short of. But feel free to be underwhelmed. Some supporters are never happy.
  21. Fair call MW, and I'm happy to admit I'd forgotten about both. Crameri will be a very dangerous player for them next year when he returns.
  22. Stuie, to be fair, if you say they have brought in 'young talent' then the onus is on you to prove it. Throwing up links to google is just you going 'hey, look, over there' and then running away in the opposite direction. The fact of the matter is that they have brought in young players who are almost completely devoid of any talent. Using them as an example is not a good one.
