  1. This. I'm surprised Lewis agreed to the back flip. Clearly he wasn't happy, once he agreed a deal with us it should have been too little, too late when they came crawling back with their tails between their legs.
  2. Now they're saying Clarko and Lewis met again today and he will now stay a Hawk. He had apparently agreed to a contract with us in principle, Hogan a big factor in his choice to play for us before back flip.
  3. Quite possibly. Something is amiss there. Plus this could well be the reason why the Hibberd deal is taking a little more time. Seems like we have other irons in the fire.
  4. Right, so I was wrong. Much more in it than I realised. Still may not happen but very interesting that Lewis approached us, not the other way round.
  5. A shocker during the season, and you're even worse off it. Seriously, that takes some sort of talent.
  6. Stevens and Clark have both totally knocked it on the head. Knew there was nothing in it.
  7. I'm not terribly excited by Lewis either, but I think the rumour is rubbish. It's not being reported anywhere else online and I doubt the Hawks will give away another experienced player to go along with Sam Mitchell.
  8. What players that are being thrown around do we actually need? Alright, a further back up for Max would be handy, but I'd rather us not chase an injury prone Vardy or someone who simply isn't up to it. We'll get Hibberd, but then what else do we need? Did we really need a Mayne or a Wells? Mitchell was always interested in the Hawks, while Rockliff does nothing for me in the slightest in terms of what he will bring to the club off the field. I understand people want to see stuff done, but think it through first. With our young list and the improvement to come there isn't much we need to do at this stage. Having one quiet trade period is not the end of the world.
  9. Are you suggesting Jeffy hasn't full bought in to the MFC?
  10. Get a sense of humour big fella.
  11. Dazzle might have just taken a sabbatical off his own bat. We all need a break sometimes.
  12. In this case it's a well done steak with a plastic knife.
  13. Why would Geelong have any interest at all in Viv Michie? He isn't worth anything. Adding him to a 'pick' won't get anything done as it doesn't add any value.
  14. If no one is interested then clubs must know something we don't. We all know how inconsistent he can be, which includes some electrifying performances and some absolute shockers, and I understand why some supporters would be interested. But if he is being dangled as trade bait and no one is keen, what's the problem? Cats asking for too much? Clubs don't think he can get any better than he currently is? Pest off the field? Who knows, but if the FD are showing no interest in him then I'd hazard a guess that he is not someone really worth pursuing.
  15. If it's true, then yes, it sounds like it. Reminds me of Karl Malone joining the Lakers at the end of his career simply so he could sit on the bench and win a ring. It didn't work. It seems there are some similarities here.
  16. An interesting one off twitter, but not to do with us - Rohan Connolly has heard that Deledio may also be interested in a move to the Dogs, and is keen for a chat with Luke Beveridge. Not sure how spot on that would be, but this trade period gets more interesting by the minute.
  17. He's not even trying. Anyone with half a brain could make this account and have plausible trades. Why not make up one about Bellchambers? Say we're showing interest in him to fill the fwd/ruck role, might be some picks involved or a swap for JKH etc., and at least that would be somewhat believable. Picking Fantasia is ridiculous as we have no need for him and the Bombers wouldn't flick him for a third round pick either.
  18. Average player is probably a little harsh, but he certainly hasn't set the world alight. He is still young enough that the Tigers believe there is still lots of improvement left in him over the coming years. Plus, without picks, I'm not sure who else they would be keen on. They don't want Motlop and there is little else that would excite the Tigers. If they want to offload him and free up cap room while getting Caddy in return, then they may take it and run.
  19. Could be, plus the loss of a host of veterans who set the standard and took the heat of them have now either left or retired. It makes a big difference. The Cats are, if they land both Deledio and Tuohy, about to add 6 experienced players in 2 years, which shows they have little faith in the kids coming through.
  20. Good deal for Freo, too. They get McCarthy, albeit a year late, and they stay inside the first round while adding at least one other pick of value that may help them get Brad Hill from the Hawks. I will be interested to see how McCarthy goes after a year out of the game and being the number one target in a forward line.
  21. Wouldn't surprise me if the Tigers paid a small part of his salary to get him off their books. Not sure how much that would be, but it's happened before. I still don't think he is the player to get them a flag though, and they're not only putting lots of their eggs in this basket, but it continues to show that their ability to develop younger players and bring them through is not what it used to be.
  22. I think it implies he may have had a few beverages and was letting slip info that a sober person probably wouldn't.
  23. And that's the system and the loophole that goes with it I guess. I'd complain but we've been a part of a few trades that have helped both clubs in this area and I didn't complain about it then.
  24. The HUN have put an article up claiming that Tom Mitchell is 'ready' to request a trade to Whorethorn and sign a lucrative 4 year deal. Good signing, but he won't stop their decline either. With Mitchell, Hodge, Burgoyne, Gibson etc. all very close to retirement, a few mids and Ty Vickery won't halt their slide down the ladder.
