Nope Joel Mac wasnt training. Rivers had a knee brace on, hopefully nothing to serious.

He kicked 4 In Casey game last year. Takes a good grab for mid sized forward, I thought he looked ok and showed promise at times. Will be interesting to see how he goes.

What are you on about?

Training today (Friday) was a buzz. Jimmy was out In the middle of the Junction Oval with Bails keeping a close eye on the boys. The talk was loud and the intensity was high. Looking forward to tomorrow. I noticed Jack Watts did the hole session today. Grimes, Rivers, Tapscott, Morton were all watching from the sidelines.

I'm sure he's fine, he wasn't limping or anything noticeable. Looked to be In great spirits laughing etc. If you ask me he's pulled up sore and having a rest for a week.

I was there for about half hour. Not a great deal to report. I noticed Grimes on the sidelines doing hand ball drills, obviously pulled up sore from the weekend. Not a great deal happens at the junction oval, they arent out on the ground for long. One thing I did enjoy seeing was Trengove and Scully putting the boxing gear on and doing this boxing drill where they had to spa with each other. The whistle was blown to stop and Trenners gave Scully a cheap shot to the guts. You probably had to be there but It was a funny moment and great to see them arm in arm laughing about it.

I saw him today at the servo In St Kilda. I asked how his foot was and he said going well. Will play a half for Casey this week. I asked are you aiming for round one and he said probably not, more like round 2 or 3.

Just heard It also, my heart sank.. Min 16 weeks. So id say he's gone for the year.

Calm down and get on with your life. We'll all know when the club tells us.

I think your right. So a few of those guys should be ok to take on West Coast this week. I'm sure Watts cant be far off. I saw him training at the junction oval a couple of weeks back and he was going flat out. Would be good to see him play at least one game before round 1.

At least Morton will be able to lift weights. Can't see Jurrah lifting to many after shoulder surgery. Your right It's not the end of the world but still very disappointing. I was looking forward to seeing Watts and Jurrah lining up together this year. Here's hoping LJ can be back for the Queens Birthday clash against the Filth.

Thanks mate It was a bit of a spur of the momment thing. About 3 hours In I was thinking I cant believe Im driving this far to watch a practice match. I didn't see Dunn go forward, he was playing in the midfeild. Not sure If he was tagging or not. Given Moloney and Sylvia weren't playing and Bell went down early and the poor conditions I think we needed all the big bodies around the contest.

Rivers left injured. I'm not sure what was wrong but he was limping heavily after the game. It's funny you mentioned Johnny Platten as he was sitting behind me at one stage.

I saw the mark.. If It was a regular season game you'd just call off the mark of the year prize and give It to Tippett. One of the best marks you'll see.

Cant say I agree with you. I was at the game and thought all three of them did very well.

Warnock played on Tippett. Id say Tippett only touched the ball five times but took his chances and kicked 5. Tippett took an absolute hanger in the pocket!

From what I recall we didn't use either of them up forward. It was raining most of the game so our small forward set up was working ok. I agree with you about having to have a couple of talls against the hawks. At this stage we'll have Russian and Spencer rucking. You would excpect either of them could rest up forward.

Did you happen to catch what happened to Rivers? I was standing behind our interchange and noticed him limping heavily after the game?

I thought Strauss, Maric and Gysberts were all good. Id go as far as to say Strauss and Maric will play round 1. Just my opinion.
