  1. A few Southport supporters on Facebook going off that we stacked the team with AFL players and cheated haha
  2. The problem with ANB, despite all his gut running, is his disposal and decision making, I'm sure the rest of the team feel it's a real momentum killer also. He gets away with too much IMO.
  3. I see this as a big issue, you need fresh blood, skilllsets and talent. If Goodwin goes with more of the same again, hes in for a rude wakeup call next year, especially if we get injuries.
  4. Cats have so many players who are great overhead marks
  5. When people refer to the age of players during trade period they mostly refer to what they'll be at the start of next season. He'll be 29 in April and has 5 years to run of his existing contract with injuries troubles this season.
  6. Anyone going to request a trade to the Dees.....
  7. He's gone mate, he ain't coming back. We get what we get
  8. Do you not think that when the Jackson home rumour started, West Coast wouldn't have been on the front foot, or at least talking to him the whole time? They said they were interested yesterday and haven't even spoken to him. He ends up at Fremantle, nothing surer. Those players from Fremantle aren't going to net a whole lot. Maybe some pick swaps and upgrades, but I don't think we will get what we want re Jackson. The two top 10 picks are a pipe dream.
  9. He won't be going to WCE so forget that. They haven't even had a convo with him so aren't interested. Its Freo, but what can we get from them. I'd say it has to be one first rounder and a very good player? They haven't got anything else.
  10. Wonder if Freo pulled or lowered their offer for him to now just say he wants a WA club? Who knows.
  11. Just let him go and be done with it. Obvious his heart isn't in it and hasn't been for a while. He cant get his hands on it consistently so enjoy the Blicavs role Luke, wow.
  12. Didn't Sam Sturt just sign a one year extension only a few days ago?
  13. So embarrassed, what a disgrace, Goodwin can learn a lot from resting players earlier IMO.
  14. Haha. I'm not annoyed he's leaving, I'm actually relieved. He just doesn't do enough. Anyway, next.
  15. He should've been tried around the North game, too late now IMO. Perhaps its Goodwin's stubbornness coming back again aka 2019-2020? Or maybe JVR has underlying issues. I don't see him as the answer for our KPF problems but I haven't seen him play either. We need a couple of strong marking mobile around 200cm types, where they come from, stuff knows. I thought Jackson would've shown more by now, but outside of that GF, I've been underwhelmed tbh.
  16. Maybe thats why we kick wide to the pockets, because Goody knows theres a high chance of turnover up the middle....
  17. I still don't understand this move or how he slots in. Hes a no.1 ruck, as is Max. And they both aren't forwards. I get the vibe the club wants to play Max as a forward, as we've seen more recently, but it won't work IMO.
  18. I'd bring in Bowey for ANB, Bowey to the back pocket and put Salem on the HFF, setting up our passes into forward 50 aka the Gary Ablett role from a couple of years ago. Its probably the fastest way to improve our i50 efficiency as its too late in the year to train skills. Let Salem get his 20-25 touches and watch the i50's improve. Just an idea, but the simplest most effective one I can think of.
  19. And we might just choke a 10-0 start ourselves....
  20. That Geel v Coll game was honestly one of the all time classics, great footy.
  21. We don't have two genuine KPF's. We don't have hardly any elite ball users by foot.
  22. Watching all games over the weekend, we seriously lack some elite ball users by foot unlike most of the other top 8. Its a real issue IMO, we need to recruit for this, it'll give any game plan a chance to succeed. Sydney remind me of the Hawks of old, pin point passes and game plan built around it. Outside of Spargo, who doesn't get it enough, I don't trust many others by foot sadly.
  23. Thats what I'm thinking also, pushed them to their limits instead of resting them. We had players in form at Casey to cover too, so we've missed an opportunity to get experience into them also.
  24. You cannot keep kicking wide to the forward pockets. Where is this even coming from? Coaches? As it happens a lot and has been happening for weeks. Its not even percentage football. Sydney remind me of the young Hawks of yesteryear, build a team of competitors with elite kicking skills. Apart from Spargo, who just doesn't do enough, there arent too many who can hit up targets. Ben Brown is cooked, his knee is done and KPF issues next year look grim. Van Rooyen will take years to be consistent. Goodwin needs to stop persisting and thinking things will come right, sometimes you need to make tactical and positional changes. Our fitness all year looks well below where it was last year and we just cannot swing back momentum consistently, as soon as the oppo get a run on, we just wait until they stop. Anyway, looking forward to Cats v Pies. Off to walk the hounds.
