  1. I'm a very big fan of this kid, probably more than Petracca at the same age tbh. Has poise, class, skill, dare, courage and high footy IQ - he reads the play and future plays so well. Would not surprise me if hes a future Melbourne captain.
  2. Knew he had the job months ago IMO. Very odd how he wanted a break yet signed back on before the current H&A season has even ended.....
  3. Jeez Hogan had a field day by the looks! 9 goals and 17 odd marks.
  4. For those that have seen Laurie, could he potentially be the replacement for the Hunter wing next year and beyond?
  5. Sorry Redleg, I haven't had a chance to read the thread or convo just yet mate, just saw Haynes' name mentioned so said no, at his age.
  6. For half the price or thereabouts. Grundy isn't what he used to be since his injuries.
  7. No to Haynes.
  8. Interesting and puzzling selection of Laurie at this time of year. I'd prefer a seasoned, experienced and hardened Hibberd, at least you know you can trust him. I really don't think still playing with our forward setup with two rounds to go is great at all, it could well be the undoing of us in the end. Hawks are playing good footy. I feel getting Grundy when we needed a KPF last year is a real oversight by the club. We are just lucky JVR has come on and adapted quicker as it could have been horrible. I'm not as confident on Jefferson as some, yet... So I'm thinking now 2nd is unlikely, it's got to be wherever we finish to play Collingwood first week. Hard to guage Brisbane at the moment, I'm finding them a bit confusing to work out. When they're up and about they're very good. Two home finals will pretty much guarantee them a GF berth. Saw some pics of TMAC at training and actually looks fit and trim, but he'll be so out of touch. I'm starting to think we have just got to play Brown or TMAC and put up with what they don't offer tbh. It just straightens us up a bit. Joel Smith isn't the answer as a KPF. Time will tell.
  9. Tom Lynch (Rich) and/or James Sicily
  10. You're welcome.
  11. Agree layzie, I'm actually shocked at how many people here even care what is said about us in the media, it has been just bizarre here lately, especially from those who should know better.
  12. I actually "couldn't care less" about the Matilda's game tbh, but that's just me...
  13. Did I just see Charlie Dixon is out for Port for 4wks with a foot fracture
  14. Meh, just someones opinion binman. You really do have a gripe with what the media say about us lately. I'd rather fly under the radar personally. The best coach in the end holds up the cup, that's all that matters :)
  15. I used to think the same of Ben Brown when at North. Which is why I wasnt that keen on getting him, as it turns out he is now a Dees premiership player. in 2018 he kicked 61 goals with 48 frees for. in 2019 he kicked 64 goals and got 44 frees for. I might be wrong, but I think in one of those years, he kicked 41 goals from free kicks.
  16. It is meant to be independent, while he is still playing, it isn't independent. There are much better candidates, but the boys club never ceases to amaze me anymore.
  17. Was never in doubt - only on Demonland.
  18. I don't see that interview as arrogant, rude or whatever....that is just him, awkward and weird plus a hate for the attention. Nothingball.
  19. He was considered for the North game. Oliver will play. Stress less.
  20. Poor bugger Petty, season from hell for him all round. We just need to move on now. I think many were hopeful but thats footy. On a positive, even though its a big loss, we can still win without him. Not ideal to still be sorting our forwardline out at this time of year. Petty has only played 14 games this year. With only 6 games since round 9, 4 of which he was subbed off in. He has also been subbed off in 3 of his last 4 games and 4 out of his last 7. So as much as it sucks, we ARE used to life without him and need to move on. It probably looks worse after his bag of 6. The big question is, who can fill the void until Fritsch comes back, I'm hoping it isn't Smith or Grundy.

  22. While everyone is concerned about Petty, I think a bigger issue is these in-game fade-outs for long periods, not much is being said about it because we are winning. However come finals, I hope this is ironed out with better preparation, concentration and team defence, especially from the midfield. This has probably coincided with Oliver out and Petracca forward so hopefully the inclusion of Oliver is the start of tidying this up. When the midfield doesn't defend as well as they should it just puts pressure on our defence. And with Petty (out of the defence group and injured and who is arguably also our best defender) if we are going to trust guys like Joel Smith and Tomlinson to take up that role, it is now so important for our midfield to defend hard up the ground. If we tidy this up, we'll be hard to stop, but it's definitely a slight concern for a side sitting 2nd, we just need to absorb the pressure better. This is another reason why Oliver is so important to us structurally heading into finals.
  23. The feeling is mutual with Josh too.
