We seem to be all about zoning rather than accountability for our opponent. Also that killer instinct to really rattle first year players / opponents.
-
I would suggest to fit within our existing systems, we put a big orange flag on one of our talls and always kick it to them. Always.
-
Maybe we can have a different sponsor next year. Kleenex or quilton - 10 softest moments. Depends - 10 crap your dacks moments with the best hospital passes to a team mate. Endless possibilities

Felt sorry for everyone that ventured out to watch that vomit live. ?

Tans? Surfing? It's not just Goody, I have no confidence in any of the coaches we have. At least we used to have Rawlings in our ranks. I was dumbfounded to see our last two weeks of gradual improvement completely dissolve. This was the first time I've ever found myself laughing out loud at our ineptitude. I never thought I would find this kind of performance funny but to me it was really just bizarre. Handballing to team mates standing still over and over again. Kicking directly to opponents so many times. Clarries grubbas along the ground. Might be worth a run with the Storm? Oscar watching a ball bounce 15m out directly in front and waiting for someone else to grab it. Tmac showing the agility of a prawn trawler. Watching packs of 4 or 5 port players running in waves with no-one in sight. Our forwards spilling simple marks. Those bombs into the forward line....still Continually going up in packs together with no-one staying down. Our kicking for goal. If I had to sum it up, we can sometimes play alright if we're skiing downhill. Then someone puts the blow torch on us, then we just melt like butter. It's not just skills that suffer, it seems like effort does from half of the team too. Our president said that making finals is a set kpi for us for this year. No excuses. Over to you Pres.

Lets hope Kennett lets his big mouth fly this week and Clarkson looks to fly the coop.

It's some of the best comedy blooper sport I've seen in years.
-
Pickett would look like a superstar if he was playing with Port tonight. We'll probably ruin him by mid season next year.
-
He's making swear words to show the guys. They'll think he's hillarious

Hey you seem to get a lot more points when its kicked between those two big white posts. Wtf?

Hey Melksham is out there. By himself

Totally agree. Quite confident. We just need to adjusttactics with the mids. We've drifted to 2.35 on sports bet now. So will have a little piece of that. Drier track should suit us too.

Although he unloaded one or two of those crappy bombs last week, Jones is generally good with his kicking into the forward line and at goal. So I hope he's wing / forward. Of the talls, I hope Tmac plays up the field to provide marking options with Max. It's where he is finally starting to get some touch back this season. Both the Macca boys have had some bad form runs over the years and copped some flack from supporters (me included). I hope Tmac really stars with his tank and marking around the ground over the next few weeks. It could really lift our setup and attacking ability as well as taking pressure of Maxy.

Goody will be right on to it by 3/4 time.

I don't think picking it up was an option with how hot they are with htb now. Risked a free dead in front of goal. I think he made the right choice, just kicked it too hard. Nev knows he's not getting any faster too. Was it Cameron on his hammer?
-
This is all about strategy and coaching rather than umpiring. Surely we must know that we have the best tap ruckman in the business and teams are going to concede and scrag him and our midfield whole covering the odd free kick. So what is our counter strategy? We don't seem to have one. Yes raise it with the umps and the media but We should have multiple strategies and we should train for it. E.g If you're being tackled and haven't yet taken possession, maybe don't take it. Block and Shepard for each other. Maybe target a slow midfielder from the opposition and have Gawn tap it down his throat and have Viney bury him multiple times. Protect Gawn at marking contests where we can. I dunno, mix it up a bit.
-
There was a deliberate free paid against Nev for toeing the ball back towards goal and over the line. It was a one on one and the Lions player was on his hammer. I reckon he was afraid to slow down and pick it up as he'd get pinged for htb. It's a worrying sign.
-
Ooooof no. Good much better. I can't keep up!
-
Just wait for Thursday night. Umpiring will hit a whole new level of ludicrous driven by the Port fans.
-
Great suggestions. Yes Viney actually got a kick off the ground at one point while a lions player was still sitting on him from a previous tackle. Protect the ball carrier. Give them a chance to make the play and dispose of it.

I totally agree, tucked his elbow in ready for impact with Jettas head. Head ducked or not, you can't do that. The commentators just said Jetta (a veteran player) needs to change his game. Why? He was going in to collect the ball. Why are we not protecting players going for the ball? It's the same for a lot of the htb decisions now. You're better off holding off to tackle and be rewarded.
