MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 4
ArtificialWisdom replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Vanders has been playing as a marking forward so Pederson for him. Vince out for Brayshaw (obvious). Stretch was brought in for his run Hunt in for him. I'm not convinced Pedersen is the greatest in but when you break it down its not that bizarre edit: And Perderson can play as swing man if required -
Yeah, maybe im too used to us being beaten that im more worried about stopping them than taking advantage of them. Will ball in hand we probably are at an advantage with them having an extra big slow 2m guy on the field
-
Oh yeah stoppages Max will monster him but its the 3rd tall playing forward (even if that is grundy) that we dont have a defender for.
-
Yeah this is true. We cant ignore him though even if he doesnt take a mark in the 50 or kick a goal the extra tall option may spread us a bit thin. Although if Cox does start to play well and we a forced to put Frost back who then plays well? might make them finally give up on this frost as a forward nonsense
-
Their inclusion of Mason Cox conserns me. If they have grundy and cox both rotating forward/rucks when we have dunn and Tmac occupied on Cloke and Moore. We will be in all sorts height wise.
-
on SEN this morning Kochie sugested it would be good for Qld, WA and NSW clubs. Due to their tourism and trade agreements. All a load of crap as far as im concerned, However I hope it is one of them rather than us. I think you might be right with GWS will give the AFL an excuse to funnel even more money into that club.

Sheeds wont rest untill every game in the season has a theme. Look at the bombers with Anzac game, Dreamtime game and now Country game. whats next? Eskimo game?, Convict game?, Dare i say Rehab game?
-
Like to see the 2 of them stand either side of Caleb Daniels

Yeah i also doubt our hands are completely clean in this... but i also find all these accusations by dank sudden and suspicious. Like why did he wait till after the Bock case was closed (rightly or wrongly) before making a clear concise confession like that? And why does he confess to that and what may or may not have happened at melbourne but maintain that what he did at the bombers was fine? Its all very strange. -

Lets face it, Dank is just [censored] at the AFL for throwing him under the bus... does he deserve that? yeah probably. So now his career is ruined and has nothing better to do with his time than try to bring down the whole code. We will be hearing these accusations of his for quite some time yet. Every time someone is cleared he will accuse someone else. -

Their media attention will help in that regard. Umpires have footy smarts (as hard as that can be to believe) and they know who should win contests, last week they expected Goldy to win more often than not so they paid alot against Gawn because that "must be why" gawn was winning. After reviewing that game and all the hype around him and Viney Gawn will be the one they expect to win. This is why the better players get holding because they look for it. Side note: In the second qtr of the north game (i think about 8/9min in) there is audio of the umpires talking to each other and they say "watch for holding on hogan". Why? because melbourne had momentum and they expected to have hogan win the next contest and wanted to ensure he wasnt impeded, no there was no free paid but they were looking for it. They cant help it its just human nature. Look up the moonwalking bear experiment. As we get better we will get more and more of this to our advantage, but for now we will have to deal with pendles geting 2 or 3 frees on the weekend for next to nothing. -
Have to agree the talent is there now to be in it to win it. But, if these 3 bring equal effort to us they will very hard games to win.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 4

Yeah ikr! even Roos commented on this last year i think after the richmond win iirc. "Every time we win it seems to also be the worst game the opposition has ever played" (probably not exact quote but something like that) -
You look at that list and you have to admit the Giants have recruited so well. Their age mix is so good. St kilda is a bit of a seesaw they are either old or young not many in the middle, once their older boys retire they are gonna fall down that list pretty far. And richmond making the finals the past few years seems even more surprising! I would have had them around 90/95 games if i was to guess

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 4

Yes! this happens so much. Like WC in the grand final rematch. I couldnt believe so many people were saying that Hawthorn was gonna be 0-2! after 2 games at the G? please! was the easiest tip that round. -
"Port Adelaide said it would not sacrifice a home game at the Adelaide Oval to play offshore." So they want to get all the credit for playing over there but have someone else cop the missing home game?? what crap if they start it they should pay for it. But with our China Southern connection likely pushing for us to do it... i think we can guess who will draw the short straw.

haha sorry man I have the english skills of a 4th grader (if that). -
I think that is why he deserves another run. Being a defender in that game was pretty difficult. If we play in a slower tempo game and he is a noticable liability then maybe he gets dropped but he had a pretty tough start and handled it pretty well. I saw a few good spoils but i also didnt see a huge amount of his defensive positioning and such. Might take a bit more notice this week, assuming he plays.
-
I dont know what Collingwood supporters you have met but im not sure they can speak that clearly Edit: for @jnrmac's benefit that there was a joke.... oh and this edit? this is a troll
-
I comment on a way that I was wrong and then said what Jetta has done well. So no I was not trolling in any way. Idk how you troll but I dont start it with "hi i was wrong". I've only been here a short time and from what i see i have made only 1 post that you could have called a troll (which you pretty quickly did) and even that i made it pretty clear it is a joke. Dismissing my opinions you dont agree with as trolling is pretty ignorant to be honest. I have much better things to do than to sit here trying to piss off other Dees supporters, if i really wanted to do that I'd be on a collingwood or richmond forum trolling them.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 4

I think pressure is where it will be won. If we keep up the finatical pressure we were able to put on after qtr time against north we will win. If we dont then we still have a chance but will have to rely a little more on them playing poorly or kicking inaccuratly. -
Oh that was one of the greatest things i saw all last year, press red for red Ed
-
I have always thought he was a temporary solution. Before about the mid point of last year i always thought he would be their up untill a player like Salem matured and could play his role with better skills. He has always been getting the job done defensivly but he was also turning it over alot. I've turned because he has been getting better and better over the last year with his ball movement. He is no longer a "hold your breath" player with ball in hand. Regardless I'm very happy to put my hand up and say I was wrong.
