Robbed of mark of the year. They didn't want to give him both awards I reckon.

One of my favourite moments came in 2000 in an innocuous 76 (edit - 83) point thrashing of the Dockers. We won the ball out of the middle, Jeff led for it to take a chest mark about 35 out directly in front. Too easy. Jeff dropped the mark yet proceeded to paddle the ball in front of him toward the boundary. Probably without a single thought of getting a better angle, Farmer dribbled it the entirety of the way to the boundary line before taking control of the ball, completing a half-turn and drilling the goal from 40 out hard against the boundary with pressure. One of the more ridiculous, miraculous things I've seen - yet it wasn't a surprise.

Hope Tom Mcdonald gets the chance to play on Pavlich. Happy to get another look at Tynan...

This club has sucked my enthusiasm for it almost completely dry in the past couple of years. That is something, if you know me, is a massive, massive thing to happen. I think the reason I don't entirely buy-in to RR's posts is that, if I did, I'd probably just give up. I recognise them as true, but I'm not the recruiter, nor am I a member of the FD - i.e. I can't do anything about it, I can't change crap decision and I can't improve NQR players. I'm clinging to the little enthusiasm for the club that I still harbour. There's a fair chance that some of this is a last-round-rant, but nevertheless it's obvious that 2013 needs to be a great improvement on this year.

Poor bump. Very late, off the play, low impact. 2 weeks reduced to 1 for an early plea?

Further to what Billy wrote, the other point about Freo not being able to overtake North if North [censored] GWS isn't quite correct, either. As Freo have scored far less than North, a comparatively smaller win on Freo's part would have a larger impact on their percentage (i.e. they could beat us by less than NM beat GWS by and still move above them).

If only I was much older than 5 months old at the time. I would've only been about 1500m away from it at the time as well. Love hearing the stories.

* BUMP * For those interested, Series 2 starts tonight. Will be interesting to watch what Peter Reith has to say... Anyone who saw last year would agree that it is compulsory, if not difficult, viewing. As a friend said to me today, if someone's not interested it's probably all the more reason for them to watch it. Starting at 8:30 on SBS - tonight, tomorrow and Thursday nights.

One of the last worries we have is Jordie Mckenzie. Needs to learn to use the football - but nonetheless he is still one of the last worries we have.

Jeremy Howe going for the first goal - which I had him for... Rubbish umpiring (as it was for the most).

How about a game against the Cats at the G? Knowledge that the team will be out there to compete as hard as it can most weeks you go to the footy. Improved skill and fitness.

He's hardly going to have said, upon being sacked, "I've left the club with a minimal fitness/discipline base bereft of players who attack the footy consistently and a list that is, to cap it off, filled with players with poor skills."

I think you need to step away from the football conversation for a while and think about something else. It's obviously a depressing world for you at the moment. Can you do another list of dud players we could've picked?

I started calling out (obviously to no avail) for them to play the Melbourne song - and that even the Adelaide players didn't want to sing their song!

As for quality: I honestly don't think I've seen 10 more powerful, surprising, minutes of football than what Hawthorn just produced. They had been obliterated, completely and utterly outplayed for a quarter and a half. 47-9 down. Ten minutes of brutal, attacking, skilful football later. 47 apiece. Amazing to watch.
