  1. Absolutely. McMahon...ha! One of the worst players in the comp. Lucky to kick it, lucky to get the mark. About time things go our way, what a horrible thing to say. I and about 10 others in the Bullring (I couldn't watch it from my seat) all cheered. Horrible situation.
  2. Newton, Miller, Rivers, Bailey, McMahon, timekeeper. I feel dirty.
  3. Hey, don't get me wrong. Sylvia's best is some of the best I've seen from anyone in the Red and Blue this decade. My issue is that I've seen it twice this year and once last year. 3 times in two years. He's also had a handful of pretty good games this year and last. That is not top line and it's difficult to say "if Sylvia was consistent" because that's my problem with him being considered top line, he isn't consistent. Grimes is well and truly approaching Whelan status, but I'm just unsure about the username change.
  4. I'm not the hotgod, 45 is Top line, IMO, is synonmous with elite. Ablett, Bartell, Judd, Hodge type players. I don't think Davey is there. A lot of his disposals are handed off by teammates and he doesn't have the impact on games that he once had, nor does he score enough goals to be top line. Brad Green is our closest player to top line IMHO.
  5. Correct, I am entitled to my opinion. Being in the "top bracket" at the MFC hardly underlines a player's case to be considered "top line." Sylvia this season has played 5-6 good games before his act of stupidity. He was also woeful before his good patch, which included games which we rated higher IMO because of his Hawthorn/Collingwood performances. Again, being in contention to win the MFC B&F does not give you a case to consider yourself a top line player. Davey was playing excellent footy when Sylvia was being told by all and sundry at the club that he was not performing up to scratch, and continued to play decent footy whilst Sylvia enjoyed his good form. Davey's form has waned over the past month, no doubt because Sylvia has been out View's from a hotshot B)
  6. They do. But Sylvia is not top line, so I suppose he doesn't deserve better.
  7. Fantastic mate, well done! Great to see decent Melbourne highlights, every other team seems to have it for every game! Thanks for that
  8. I feel the biggest problem with this question, or at least its interpretation, is that posters are mixing up the essence of a football club with the way the football club makes them feel. We all have fantastic memories from our beloved club. Of favourite players and wins, of horrible days and of great passages of play. If we didn't have these events, we wouldn't follow football at all. The essence of a supporter is to support the club all the way. The essence of the club, however, is not to provide these moments. It should be the pursuit of a premiership. Naturally, memorable moments will ensue.
  9. Glad that Sylvia is being shown some club admonishment, it's pretty much what got him playing good footy in the first place. I'm also becoming more convinced that they named the wrong player (Bail) last week, I think they meant Hughes.
  10. We've used seasons 2008-9 to lay the groundwork for a crack at a Premiership. This is attempting to win a flag at an even greater level than that seen during the 2004-7 seasons, of attempting to win a flag with bits and pieces. We're building from the core now, not the twigs.
  11. Every aspect of a football club should be a subsidiary of, or build up to, winning a Premiership.
  12. I'd be chosing the two most talented players in the draft. I do not profess to be any kind of expert, so I will not forcefully express my opinion, but what I've heard of Trengove (and the limited amount I've seen) he would be my preference but I also doubt he will still be available at pick 3, all the more reason to list manage. Have never seen Morabito so I cannot comment, but I am certainly of the opinion that we should aim for the best youth in the country so they may mature as a group together, rather than selecting a player from another club.
  13. Hawks essentially traded Croad and McPharlin for Pick One. They got Croad back later for pick 8. Fremantle.
  14. I don't like elastic waist (I even cut one off my old Dees jacket because it would ride up). My question was more aimed at weather or not women would like to wear a guernsey with a different cut in your opinion.
  15. Reeks of arrogance and the same antics that a town like the GC would attempt. Also sums up how rubbish a sport NRL is IMO.
  16. Chelsea would be my pick for this season. With foxtel I'll be able to watch many more matches this season. Come on you Spurs!
  17. Not really what you're doing, but do you think there needs to be a decent female guernsey? Or is it not overly important? I always wondered if there could be different cuts etc. that girls may like more.
