You obviously don't know which james cook their talking about, cook played at the Carlton 25 games then traded to dogs for 49 games, he was delisted by the dogs after kicking 32 goals from 19 games, Melbourne then picked him up in the 1999 preseason draft, he kick 2 goals in his first game 6 in his second, hurt his ankle in his third game, he got really fat and and out of shape, to a point that the club never played him again. He played 77 games for 139 goals. -
Our own "Creed" for the Melbourne Football Club
Demon trucker replied to Supreme_Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
I was thinking that we need a demons supporter pledge. I pledge never to get negative thoughts when the demons are 38 points up. I pledge never to scream at the demons on the TV when their losing. I pledge never to say I knew it, when we lose after being up by 7 goals + I pledge never to abuse a player, when they turnover a 20 Meter kick under no pressure. I pledge never to throw the TV remote , or my phone on the ground when the demons lose to the Saints again. I pledge never to yell sack the coach after a lose. I pledge never to be upset about any win against any team by any margin. I pledge always to love the demons, whether we win lose or draw. You must agree to all these pledges, if you want to follow the demons.- 39 replies

Off-season outlook: Pressure will be on Melbourne and Simon Goodwin
Demon trucker replied to M_9's topic in Melbourne Demons
They changed the rule after that grand final, next year they did not make finals, was it premiership hangover? Ot did the rule change totally stuff up thire game plan, and it took rhem three seasons for them, to work out a totally different game plan. I believe the 6 6 6 rule was a really bad rule change for our game plan, so hopefully Goodwin has worked a new game plan, that will take us back to 2018. -
Jonathan Brown to take Sam Weideman under his wing
Demon trucker replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
My post was in reply to having a assistant coach that played as a forward, I said that there are just not that many assistant coaches that played as a forward. The original post was about falling Sam, because we did not have a assistant coach that was a forward coaching the forward line. -

I checked out the current assistant coaches at all AFL clubs, and there are only about 3 that played as forwards, and I was talking about current coach's and there is 1, so history hss nothing to do about the present coaches, overall 96% of all coaches are non forwards. -

That's very well to say get forward coaches that where forwards, there is something about forwards they don't go into coaching, lets name a few great forwards and Think if they went into coaching, Dunstall, gary Lyon, David Schwarz , Russell Robinson, Wayne Carey Jonathan Brown, Lynch, fav, how many AFL head coaches where a pure forward, name them please. -
2020 Financials: Reduced Debt Despite Loss
Demon trucker replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
So when there are crowds next year and the club has to make up for the 17 million dollars lost last year, you want the club to make less money next year, and make another operating loss maybe they should make membership free, maybe you will be happy with the club folding. -
Welcome to Demonland: Taj Woewodin

NGA rules are change but F/S will stay the same, there is opposition to teams getting top player with the NGA, but not with F/S . -
2020 Financials: Reduced Debt Despite Loss
Demon trucker replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Would you go into debt and be guaranteed by the AFL, most clubs like ours have moved heaven and earth to avoid this why? The AFL is committed to a 18 team competition, but they have never said they are committed to having all the teams based in their current location. Don't think a second the AFL won't hesitate to relocate 1 of these AFL assistant teams, without a home base to Tasmania. -
Where did this myth come from that Kent Kingsley is a spud? Leading goal kicker 4 times for Geelong, he is a fairly good forward who kicked many bags, most people who say don't forget Kent Kingsley are parrots, who would not even know that he kicked over 200 career goals.
-
Are you a parrot, I have been hearing for years how this spud Kent Kingsley kicked his 1 and only bag of goals against Melbourne, Kent Kingsley was Geelong leading goal kicker 4 times, he averaged almost 2 goals a game, he was a genuine forward and no spud, check facts and stop being a parrot., Also he kicked 6 goals in 1 game against port Adelaide.

Yes can.list him on the supplement list because he has nominated for the draft, and been overlooked.

I think training at Casey will be good, because of the MCG size ground. Freemantle I think will actually go backwards next year, they still rely on a old Mandy and even more aging Walters, to play well
-
No none at all
-
Well Pickett either can't count or is just making up numbers.
-
2 full season can you count? 2020 is over, end of 21 is 1 full season!!! First you thought QTR went for 25 minutes plus time on, now you think it's December 2019, maybe get checked out for Alzheimer's.
-
It's not a indictment of the dees history, up until the 70's, 100 + goal kicking seasons was very rare, not a indictment on our whole history just the last 50 years.
-
Geelong are on the cliff, short season short QTR suited the grandpa's, less rotations normal length season, 20 minute QTR will not suite them, and the media can't see it, just like the media could not see the fall of the Hawks.
