MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 19
The Sailing Demon replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
OUT - C. Dawes. IN - L. Hulett. Obviously we should win this, but hey, the Demons are the masters of the reverse Houdini. I am expecting a big game from Watts and Hogan this week hopefully a bit frustrated at themselves for not standing up like we want them to (Nobody is perfect) I just don't like the team with Dawes in it, he is not a part of our future, has not played enough games this year to play our game style and I don't feel offers anything extra to the squad. Wouldn't mind seeing Oliver, Kennedy, or Bugg in, and we can drop Harmes for one of them I would assume (Looks a little flat recently, probably needs a spell) I will be avidly pressing refresh on this slow internet at sea intently and it would make my day to see another big win. -
I think we need to keep Casey strong. I want our next generation to have the mentality of "I've beaten these blokes before, I can do it again" In the years to come when the crop of talent from the other clubs start playing AFL footy.
-
Out - O. McDonald, J Harmes In L. Hulett, B Kennedy Also could bring in Bugg, or Oliver. The season is now officially mathamatically over so now is the time to blood some new talent each week. Would like to see Hulett come in for Oscar McDonald, the bloke has a ready made AFL players body, and seems to have the ability to kick a goal too. Wouldn't mind seeing Dawes get dropped for Weidman too but don't think we should bring in too many newbies against a side we should beat...Can't handle another embarassment for the season.

Love them both and hop they stay at the club for years but. Watts and Hogan today didn't assert themselves. Everyone has their bad days and unfortunatley both theirs fell on the same day. another 4th quarter fade out which will always happen to a young team but still. Really would have loved to get an upset win this year, St Kilda, Essendon, Carlton, Collingwood ALL have upset wins, unfortunatley we have none. Major bummer.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 18
The Sailing Demon replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
It's weird that you should say that, I had a dream last night that we won 52-50. If that does eventuate I will conclude that you and I must be long lost twins with some kind of mental connection. I am eager to see the results. -
Fondest Melbourne Demons memory
The Sailing Demon replied to The Sailing Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
Jump on a book called "From the outer" Amazing book about people from all walks of life and how AFL has effected them, there is a chapter in there about a heart broken Fitzroy supporter that had me in tears. -
It is easy to get caught up in the post match hate and frustration, trust me, no one feels it more than us, another year of "Perhaps next year" and it really hurts me to have a decade without any success what so ever. BUT There is a reason why we all persist with this club and I want to know some of your most cherished memories with the Demons. I will start by saying as a 12 year old and sitting in the cheer squad for the first time leaving that day happy and without a voice anymore...and to make it better it was against Geelong. Another 2 were having Jeff Farmers 1998 Mark of the year Herald sun spread on my wall in my bed room and watching us thump North Melbourne in the 2000 Prelim whilst in Bali with my Dad. But then who cold forget that 3 point win in Adelaide all those years ago in the dying seconds?!? Or the wonder as a small forward pocket for my local footy team going to watch my hero Rusell Robertson week in week out doing what he did best. It is easy to forget the past and why we are all so passionate about this club, but looking back, the Demons are the reason why I share so many amazing memries with my family and closest friends. Let me hear some of yours.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 17
The Sailing Demon replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Actually the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over agin and expecting a different result -
We have players signing contracts quicker than Lleyton Hewitt drops sets, this is fantastic news! Next up, T-Mac, Watts, Hogan. After those 3 sign (And I am 99% sure all 3 will...Seriously, who would be silly enough to leave the club now?) We are will quickly become a club that free agents will be looking at come years end. Guys like Melksham waiting, Hurley and Hibberds name being thrown around like a McEnroe tennis raquet. We are well and truly on our way guys, *choo choo*, here comes the Melbourne demons train to finish the season like a damn steam train. Not to mention blokes like Hulett and Weidman, Wagner, HUNT who are getting me more excited than a blind lesbian at a fish market. Get around eachother boys, the demons are here to stay, and our reserved spot in the 8 for the next decade is quickly being cleaned up and prepped for our arrival.

Changes for next week v Swans
The Sailing Demon replied to Bombay Airconditioning's topic in Melbourne Demons
Out: Wagner (Love him, but give him a spell in the 2's) In: M. Jones. (Was very good for us before he did his ribs and would like his experience) But even then...Lumumba are just as capable. How good is having depth?!?! -
How many wins will we end up with in 2016
The Sailing Demon replied to junk's topic in Melbourne Demons
Hard to say. Losses to Essendon, St Kilda, and Port Adelaide have certainly put us in a position where us supporters still have no faith on which Melbourne will turn up on match day. Collingwood, Carlton, St Kilda again, Freo, and Gold Coast are the only winnable games I see for the remainder of the year, best case scenario 10 wins for the season. now, 10 wins is 3 games better than last year but I would still say we are a year behind schedule where the club wants to be...by this year PJ wanted 50,000 members and to be looking at finals. We are at 38,600 and are looking to come in around 10/11th at best. I would love to see a couple upsets of course but the team hasn't really given us fans any faith or beleif that that might be the case. Right now I feel the club isn't out of the woods as to if this rebuild or whatever you want to call it these days is a success, granted we have a very young and inexperienced side and by the looks of your young talent, it is only a matter of time, anything could happen so I still wait here with bated breath as to what happens to the club in terms of on field success over the next 18 months. -
Nev doesn't get beaten. He is safer than the church of England.

I noticed yesterday that O'Mac doesn't have the confidence of his team mates, a few times he was semi-open and the player with the ball over looked him as a first option and tried a bit of a more outlandish option to get the ball to someone with a bit better conviction. The kid has 22 possessions at around 70% efficiency so he is far from the ogre we are all making him out to be but he NEEDS to be in the VFL for further development, considering we have guys like Grimes, ANB in the VFL racking up 30+ games week in week out and still aren't in the squad the fact that O'Mac is there does confuse me a little. Would like to see him dropped for Dunn this week and have Dunn take up his 2014 role in being the last man back being a goal square sweeper with his big body.

Demonland Banner Missing Someone....
The Sailing Demon replied to GoodAsGawn's topic in Melbourne Demons
Perhaps just have his beard coming down from the top? Or put the bnner sideways. -
As the post win optimism flows through our lives we turn our heads to next Sunday at the G. I will label a few small points as to why I feel we will win this game well. Their injuries...Murphy, Johannison, Adams, Suckling, Tom Boyd all not playing with reports of a Jake Stringer corky. This will be the first time this year they haven't played at Etihad (How the hell they get 7 straight home games essentially is beyond me), they haven't played on the wide deck which we are used to. Fatigue...Their game last week was a lot more physical than ours testing thier players for the whole 4 quarters. Granted they are a very good team and will go in favourites in recent times we have been pretty even when it comes to wins and losses against this mob. I feel that if we can bring our second half performance to the G this sunday we will be in the box seat for a 2-4 goal win.

Delete my death threats from all 22 players on the day twitter accounts and stop sending them letters written in my blood. -
For [censored] sake, I can't even defend the Demons this week on social media and at work. I have mates snap chatting me them laughing whilst watching the replay. No other club in the league puts their supporters through the [censored] we have to endure.

MATCH PREVIEW & TEAM SELECTION - ROUND 2, 2016
The Sailing Demon replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
As I have been out of the country sailing the 7 seas for the past 6 weeks this will be my first live match I will get to watch for the year. Got the missus to put some beers in the fridge, got my demons top waiting for me at home, got my bets on and am going to hopefully enjoy my first game of the year with a really nice record win ov over 10 goals. Happy to see Heritier in, I think he will have a solid game, and will be a great start to the year for Gussy B, Jack Watts will kick 4+ and Gawn will top the Supercoach score with 40+ hitouts and 150+ supercoach points.
