  1. We are still a comparatively slow side, particularly the on ballers. This is gunna hurt us, as speed and endurance are not our strong points. Gotta work out how to manage our talls much better. It cant just be bad luck, year after year after year.
  2. One day some of the posters on here will wake up to reality and stop making pathetic, repeating, soft, excuses for poor efforts by our players. Until we get at least 9 or 10 players running hard at the ball at any one time, we will remain easy beats. A couple of our young "guns" need a poke in the back with a pointed stick. 5 or 10 minute efforts will never cut it at this level. Membership won't get near 40,000 with efforts like that. Simply not acceptable to those who know a bit about footy at AFL level.
  3. My rumour supplier advises the AFL will never lay down on all of this. Hird is less likely to coach again than he ever was. Several players will cop bans/be deregistered and some more heat is still to hit off field staff who think they are outside of the situation. AFL are just looking to hit The Dons hard, but not too hard, so-as gate takings will not be diminished massively. Legal boffins are, weekly, getting closer and closer to an agreement that will upset many Dons followers. Apparently some of the player's parents are still waitng to see if they will need to sue the club. Lawyers are making a massive amount and will make even more yet to assist their early retirement plans. AFL want WADA/ASADA to advise guilty party's within 6 - 8 weeks. AFL dont want to have to take points won away again and so are pushing for earlier announcements. Other AFL presidents/CEO's want it all cleared up and are giving very little, if any support to Essendon. Vlad is happy for "others" to make the heavy decisions and then will act under his own AFL powers and BAM! My informant has so far been pretty well spot on yet has missed a couple of reports that got out before he heard of them. Beer is the serum of truth. Some of this is old news!
  4. I am not as effusive as I was about Jimmy Toumpas. He looked absolutely knackered before 1/4 time. Needs to see how disposal mistakes kill games, also needs to work really hard on his engine. Still a good chance to be a handy type though.
  5. Brereton is very carefully fulfilling his destiny by being an over opinionated, proficiently incorrect, self promoting, underwhelming, boring, whingeing, brainless, [censored] piece of nanny goats poop. No wonder he keeps getting DCM's from radio and TV stations. Drainpipe Wussell is learning those same ropes, very quickly. Dermie, you are no longer part of the "show" called AFL football. You are just another hopeless, lost comentator. Best you go back to fixing up car wrecks. Oh wait a minute, you can't even organize that without dramas.
  6. Happy to admit I was way out with my prediction tonight. So happy to finally see a coaches' message get through to this young bunch of talented kids. Congrats to you Roosey. Vince, Jonesy and co............... great work rate guys.
  7. They showed some character tonight, thank you Paul Roos for guiding them in this direction!
  8. I wouldn't expect us to win but do want to see more genuine endeavor, more game plan adherance, maybe a few less clumsy turnovers, improved delivery by both hand and foot, a little more gut running, and no sign of the "Oh well we can't win now, so lets all ease off a bit" syndrome. I do expect Roos at some stages to give a few players the silent stare before quietly, but VERY FIRMLY telling them, that some of the efforts wont be tolerated anymore. This side is in a transitional learning state right now , so early success would be an unexpected bonus. I am hoping for a score card something like Rich 85pts vs Melb 65 pts. Howe to bag 3 goals. Jones to be our BOG again.
  9. Crows = pretenders Bears = they all prefer surfing Blues = Cheats of a massive proportion Pies = Eddie the big head shits me to tears Bombers = drug cheats, SUFFER, ??ethics Dockers = OK but have a cockheaded coach Cats = OK Suns = See Bears Giants = Long way off it Hawks = arrogant pricks Kangas = OK Power = Barely OK Tigers = hate their [censored] coach Saints = back where they belong ha ha Swans = get too much AFL help Eagles = former drug haven, ? ethics Dogs = OK but pretenders
  10. Fair decision with Jones now right beside Trenners at the coalface. Jones absolutely deserves to be a skipper. The LG is pretty good and will give more stability to our onfield efforts in 2014.
  11. If Jamar (and a couple of others) are once again on modified preseasons, then we have a situation that needs addressing now. There is a preseason pattern with a few older players on our list and it aint pretty. Hopefully when our coach turns up, a few will toe the hardwork line, a little more religously. Agree with the Watts situation that he will be handy at best. Toumpas, Viney and the newbies are what excites me, however this means at least one more long season for us all, before consistency kicks in. We still seem to have those list cloggers that would be best described as showing potential, however this is the same as previous preseasons with them. Predicting around 6 wins for 2014, then bigger improvement in '15.
  12. Puntkick, with at least 8 spelling mistakes on your post and under your avatar, I don't think it is other posters who are "stupid". ;-)
  13. Maybe we should consider drafting a ruckman who is not always injured or in a "special" group during preseason. More of the onus to keep fit needs to be put back on these players. I don't expect bigger players to be outsprinting or out distancing small midfielders but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,they need to do the hard yards more consistently without all this moonboot, walking laps, jogging 1/2 laps, catching rebounded tennis balls sort of stuff every year. The harder they work, the luckier they will get !
  14. It's said Saad will get 2 years so a bit of a deterrent I reckon!
  15. Malthouse had the biggest club purse to spend on players and staff but always has been a intimidating type. Those who strait faced him were often heaved aside and/or ignored. He is no supercoach. He has had some success but many others could have achieved the same results. Even Eddie got sick of his autocratic beligerent nature.
  16. Scott Watters is the Saints version of Neeld. Lost the players............................and most of the club management. Several senior players would have reluctantly played 1 more season under him but no more than that. Tail wagged the dog over at Seaford, BIGTIME !
  17. If you can't/don't perform, then go to St Kilda, Brisbane or somewhere else that is now equally the ducks guts in non performance! What a sooky sooky la la.
  18. 25s game over 3 seasons and eventual Captain of Box Hill Tech, 150+ games at Pioneers in ESCFA in A & B grade only and was DVC for a couple of seasons. Vice captained U 17 Interleague side against West Gippsland League, had a few training runs at Hawthorn and a couple of years at the Zebra's in the EFL. Played a bit of footy with Crozier and Marshall at Pioneers. Marshall was a freak but a touch undersized. I was always a full back, could kick it a bit.
  19. Dawes must surely be on nearly his last chance. He has to play by rd 6 or bye bye it just might be! So what if he is a good fella or really disappointed, we need to toughen up all you overforgiving petals. This club must no longer be a waiting room for those who are finished and hang around for a full contract payout. Either play some consecutive games or retire !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Having so called patience has not worked so lets now get tougher and demand performance! Train hard, play competitively or off to VFL.....................! Permanently.
  20. Fitzpatrick being asked about by an interstate team with possible pick in 30's ???????????? Rumour from a very well known restaurant owner only!
  21. If Cross is that good why was he dropped from a team that won ?????? games in 2013. If he was that valuable he wouldn't have been let go. He will probably get some good footy under his belt at Casey with an occasional run off our senior bench. Thankfully he won't cost us much in terms of picks. A good ordinary player, his stats flatter him.
  22. Wallace not only needs a throat transplant, he needs a brain implant!
  23. Michael Long is an overated person, self promoting glutton who was a v good player albeit a thug, but needs a lesson in how to live without the limelight. He thinks he is still in the AFL the way he conjurs up media pics and reports about his off field walks and community stuff ?? Michael, YOU ARE NOT AN AFL PLAYER ANYMORE !! Personally I would not p155 on him if he was on fire.
