  1. 6 - Bate 5 - Green 4 - Garland 3 - Davey 2 - McLean 1 - Buckley
  2. Players I would defend Cameron Bruce - Always tries his hard out and is usually given the toughest roles. He probably runs more than any player and at least tries to give an option. Occassional disposal errors but has football smarts. Brad Green - As with Cameron Bruce, always gives his best. Often regarded as soft but you can can't on him to run with the flight of a ball or stand beneath a pack. He is one of the most courageous players at the club and should be in the leadership group. Oh - and I forgot to say he is the most reliable kick at goal for the club. Paul Wheatley - Often maligned I value him completely. Hi slong accurate disposals is a shining light for this club that often stand out like a beacon of light in a team that goes for short options. Players I do not value Yze - he was once a great player off the club but unfortunately he has gone on too long. His disposal has deteriorated greatly and unfortunately has become lazy. Sylvia - I am beginning to lose patience with him. Constantly is injured and has underperformed when on the field. On saying that I had very high expectations of Col. I have a feeling he may change clubs and becomea great player at that club. I hope that is not the case and I hope that I will eat my words down the track.
  3. Absolutely agree with this thread. A perfect example is to look at the votes for demonland player of the week for this round. Hardly a vote. He was tremendous and has been most of the year. Yesterday he took it up a notch with great run from defence and more importantly excellent pin point passes (BY FOOT) over a long distance. I also loved his reaction when he came into the rooms after the game - he was pumped. To quote him "Go Demons!". He puts the club first and it is no wonder the players love him. I would almost consider him as part of the leadership group. My only reluctance is that he is injury prone.
  4. I know everyone is entitled to their opinion but I cannot believe wheatley has not been given more votes. FWIW here are my votes: 6 - Miller (contested all day and marked really well) 5 - Wheatley (fantastic long kick passes) 4 - Austin (what enthusiasm) 3 - Davey (brought back the memories - maybe his brother's injury woke him up) 2 - Bruce (he gives his all - his 1st 3 handballs were shocking otherwise he would have higher votes) 1 - Carroll (unheralded - constant punched the ball and ran fwd) Unlucky - Robbo, McLean,Jamar I liked the tactic of Jamar on Sandilands - asking him to run into Sandilands. Jamar is much bigger than white. Credit where credit's due - well done Bailey.

  6. I have a funny feeling we will win this game (by 15 pts). CC knows the Fremantle club very well and it is rare that they play 2 good games is a row. Hold Pavlich - win the game. Quite simple really. Not sure what we can do about Sandilands though.
  7. i heard that in 2001, 2003 and many other years. I hope you are right.
  8. 17,184 people. I will be there but a little late. My daughter's birthday.
  9. 6 - Jones 5 - Wheatley 4 - Bruce 3- Aussie 2 - Green 1 - Moloney
  10. I want him on the board of the football club or a coach or both.
  11. This guy loves the football club. Looks so emotional as he talks. I wish the players watch this and see how much the club means to some players.
  12. Once again I am told we have bigger problems. You may be right. However, I would like to know he is watching the coaches pre-game to see how they are performing. He cannot do that while he is standing out on the ground. Just my opinion - at least I am not bagging young players like Frawley and Garland like some other people do here.
  13. SOme Melbourne representative was giving them out. It was during the game so I did not ask him any questions. I was too busy watching the football - my mistake.
  14. I have had time to reflect on yesterday and I could not bare to think of the football game. So I focussed off-field. I loved the fact the club gave free flags to people who wanted them. It made us look like we had more supporters there than in reality. I also enjoyed the trumpeter although to be honest I preferred it when it was spontaneous. However, what amazed me is that our General Manager of Football is playing announcer. Surely he should be in the rooms with the players or the coaches. If not for input, but to see how the coaches are going about their job. At the end of the year tough decisions will need to be made. If someone senior needs to do the announcing, Bev can do it, or get a past player. I will do it if need be. I understand that we need to cost cut and we cannot afford a media person but please not our General Manager of Football. And one more thing. I know I have mentioned it on here before and have been told that there are bigger issues. But it really irritates me when the highlights during our home game is of the opposition - especially showing Judd kick a goal. It just emphasises how depressing it is not having him at the club. If we kick one goal - make that OUR highlight. If we kick no goals - show a mark or dare I say show a handball to a running player above the knees. Anyway - enough said. I am starting to think of the game again. Thanks for listening to me rave on.
  15. My son was given a Melbourne flag for free
  16. I would love to give green 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 votes but it is against the rules. My votes are: 6 - Green (you guessed it) - he tries his guts out and i hope they leave him on the HF line 5 - Rivers - has the smarts 4 - Austin - his chasing was great today and is one of the best disposals in the team 3 - McDOnald - primarily for the chase down 2- Bruce - easily accounted for Stevens 1 - Bartram - would have like to see him on Judd Mclean was well beaten by Judd - cannot give him votes. For those who thought Judd did not rip us apart, in the words of "The Castle", tell them they're dreaming
  17. How dare you say I should support another team because I do not agree with you. Everyone has a right to my opinion and despite my total disbelief with some of your statements I would never say you should follow another team. In fact you should be encouraging supporters in the current environment. Your comments are nothing but damaging to this team and supporters. I think Bruce is likely to finish in the top 5 in the best and fairest this year based on current form. Our next captain is Bruce, like it or not. If you are not comfortable with this then you should STILL follow this team, but better still join up as a member. Hearing you are not a member of the club disappoints me more than watching the MFC at the moment. Ps. I am not convincedabout Austin yet despite me giving him votes yesterday. He seems a bit slow to me but I will reserve judgement.
  18. I am scared I have to agree. I appreciate all he has given for the club and enjoyed watching him play. Ove rthe last few weeks I have been a little embarrassed for him. I hope I am wrong. I saw no point in him playing on because we are a long way off a premiership. Might as well have Newton learning the tempo if the game. On saying all this, I do not want to see Neiter in Sandy's team.
  19. Maybe he is a Melbourne supporter who is frustrated at their skills
  20. I have voted but for the record here aremy votes for this round: 6 - Davey - likes to play against Wells 5 - McLean - tried his guts out and one who generally showed good footskills 4 - White - presented all the time and is one reliable kick at goal 3 - Miller - showed appropriate aggression (hopefully not looked for charging 2 - Rivers - considering amount of delivery 1 - Austin wonnamarryme - for effort and his teamwork with Aaron Davey Honorable mention to Corey Jones of Nth for trying to keep us in the game
  21. I have calmed down and taken a deep breath. Robbo is down on confidence and he is a confidence player. He has been selfish of late but today he did chase and tackled. Sometimes he missed with the tackles but he was not Robinson Crusoe. I actually thought he played ok - not brilliantly. I am not considering his goals because as you say they were basically given to him. I am talking about his leading, his marking and teamplay (going up to congratulate and encourage teamates). I am not a huge fan of him but feel I should defend him on today's game. Ps. Not in my best 6 this week before you come down hard on me.
  22. Yeah - I thought of this too. I like Bugsy as a nickname. As for Wonaeamirri - to me he sounds like a pizza so my nickname for him would be simply Pizza.
  23. 6. Wheatley - 4 qtrs, provided an option, gave good drive and good kicking (with the occassional stuff up) 5. Bruce - great running game - contributed at both ends (see my thread to see how I feel about him) 4. P Johnson - great mark and provides an option 3. Bartram - just for his tackles 2. Bell - great defensive play and kick ins (generally speakinG) 1. McLean - for his 1st half Honorable mentions to Morton and Aussie - but let's keep it in perspective at the moment.
  24. I am sick of people bagging Cameron Bruce on hear. I understand and appreciate that people are entitled to their opinion but he gives his all. As he gets more game time he will regain fitness and he showed today how dangerous he is. His kicking has deteriorated but you could see today that is improving again. He clearly beat Steve Johnson and kicked goals. He is our next captain and he has my full support.
