  1. I've always wondered about Tassie, would they be based in Hobart or Launceston?
  2. We have decent ruckman? *boom boom tish*
  3. I'm going to play the role of the devil's advocate here... From an outsiders point of view looking at our position I think this is a fair enough opinion to have considering the assistance that we've received from the AFL over the last 4 or 5 years and our crowd sizes, especially the sub 15k we had the other week. I personally don't care what people like Jackson say but it''s his opinion and everyone is allowed to have one, however we have to continue to work bloody hard to prove to the rest of Australia that we can survive on our own.
  4. No injuries
  5. Yeah, I think I got it wrong although I'm certain he spent time in the middle.
  6. I quite like this idea, can we afford to?
  7. He played up forward, but late in the season he was moved into the middle with soem success. Alot of recruiters questioned where he'd eventually play at AFL level, sound familiar?
  8. Great hands? Not sure about that.
  9. Didn't have a great game disposal wise but he showed that he can read the play well and at least find alot of the footy. I didn't mind his game, clearly he's better than he's effort today but there were glimpses of what he could become. He sort of reminds me of Armstrong a bit, just a bit classier
  10. To be fair to freak Miller would have difficulty in breaking into just about any other team, but I agree that he currently is the best key forard we have.
  11. I understand that demon3 knows the Viney family? Which would explain why he's so passionate about the topic, but I seriously doubt that a thread on a site like this would add any further pressure on a young kid. I would have thought that having a father who competed at the highest level and the fact he's currently coaching an AFL would put more pressure on a kid to perform. Like most boys growing up I'm sure something that drives him would be to at least equal his fathers achievements.
  12. I'd imagine that eveyone would agree with you, but then it's a matter of timing. How would you feel about delaying his start for a home game at the 'G.
  13. http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/afl...2-19895,00.html This is nothing new, we've known this for at least 6 months, and that's just a mug like me. The experts would have known for a good 12 months. This year we need a pp pick, so whether we end up with the first two picks or picks 1 & 3, it doesn't matter. But we need to have access to two great kids, rathar than a punt with a later pick
  14. Jack Watts, nice goal
  15. This years draft is no where near as deep as last year, the chances of getting a great player outside of the top 5 picks is doubtful.
  16. Broken ankle with the bone sticking through the skin....geez if true this could be very, very bad. Some people just don't recover from these types of injuries. Let's hope it's not too serious and th ekids can make a full recovery.
  17. The only thing Tiger got wrong was that he didn't foresee the AFL giving money to the poorer clubs with things like the CBF, everything else he predicted has occured. As for the people getting locked out, it's true, but not for any sinister reasons that's been suggested in this thread. The place was absolutely full. They literally couldn't fit any more poeple in. The suggestion that pro merger voters were somehow snuck in and the anti merger voters were locked outside is laughable. It's interesting that some people have painted Gutnick as the saviour of the club, this is simply not true. The club was not in any financial danger at the time, however there could be a very strong argument to suggest the he was almost responsible for the beginning of the end of the club.
  18. I know about Viney's kid but I haven't heard about Stretch's. Do you know how old he is and where he plays?
  19. No it's to serve the AFL. The MFC administration's role is to serve the MFC
  20. The draw can never be even because of the number of clubs involved and the fact that there are 9 teams out of the one city. No where else in the world does this occur, the problems that we face are unique to the AFL
  21. I'm going against the grain here, I don't think Demetrio is that bad, in fact looking at the big picture he's doing a good job. Demetrio's job is to run the AFL, not individual teams, and unfortunately our past administrations have faield dismally with that charge. We are in our current position because of our own incompetence, not because of poor management from the AFL.
  22. Ablett always had the talent, even when he was 'just a small forward', he was still bloody good.
  23. Ouch
  24. Wall of text..../shudder, you could have just said lazy and we'd have the same result
  25. Disco This thread is a good example of why a small amount of knowledge can be dangerous.
