  1. No, that's not the reason for my opinion, it's just a small part of it.
  2. Sadly I'll be very surprised if he plays again, I have no 'inside knowledge' or anything, it's just a hunch.
  3. What we really need is another poll to ask whether we really need to have another poll to identify which options should be included in the Jack Viney poll. How many agree with me?
  4. Bit harsh with some of these comments, we have absolutely no idea about what's happening with his personal life or what issues he could be trying to cope with. I suggest though that most of the comments are probably aimed more at the reporting of the issue by the media rather than the kid himself, well at least I hope so.
  5. well, sadly no as I had already left for the game prior to that post. As ChaserJ has said, it's a great chance for some daddy time, you just have to make it fun for them to want to come again.
  6. Ok, I've been pretty tough on this guy so far although memories of his 'fresh air' kick at goal always seems to come to mind whenever i see him. But, had a good look at him today in the flesh. Big lump of a lad and without seeing the stats I reckon he was the best tap ruck out there today (didn't have much to beat though). He'll never be a Cox type of 25+ disposal and he doesn't have great agaility but he really gives everything he has and has a bit of the angry pills about him. Very happy to see him follow up a bounce with a tackle or to grab the ball from the ground and dish out a pass, his disposal is also gradually improving. I can see Gawn overtaking him next year pretty quickly but he's a pretty good back up ruck to have and he's only going to get better, I'm definitely rethinking my previous opinion.
  7. i like your way of thinking! She enjoyed it, bought her a flag to wave but after the first goal she said 'you wave it daddy' /sigh. at here age she has no idea what's going on but she enjoyed the experience, although she was more impressed by the birds standing on the ground than the football itself...
  8. Taking my daughter to her first game of footy, unfortunately for her I've already had years to work on brainwashing her to follow Melbourne. Can we win?
  9. I can't wait for this season to end. Watching us play gives me no pleasure, it just makes me angry and everything that could have gone wrong this year has. I just want it to end and for the club to start a fresh next season. This is what I'm looking forward to: - A fully fit Clark. - Another pre-season into Watts (bigger and stronger version in 2012 please) - Trengove to get over his niggling groin (please let it be an injury) - Gawn getting through an entire season uninjured. - Gysberts and Blease to be able to run out games. I've just had this season, I'm sorry for saying it and I've never felt this way before but it just seems that we've gone from one disaster to the next. I would be very happy to have as low a profile as possible for the next couple of seasons while we develop resurrect the list.
  10. Really though, what choice do we have? The club can't afford to sack everyone and start again, there is only one path we can take now for the next couple of seasons. I still believe that Neeld can turn it around but it's clear that we badly overstated our list 3 years ago. Our next big decision will be whether to draft kids or trade for experience
  11. The only thing I'll add to this discussion is that it will take several seasons to address the fitness issue, we're starting from a very low base. The rest is just too depressing to talk about, I hate watching us play now because it just makes me angry seeing us continually making fundamental errors. Turnover after turnover.
  12. Out on the full. [censored] hell, every game under no pressure, all the [censored] time.
  13. Wasn't that the game that Jimmy was racially vilified by a young Brisbane aboriginal player.?
  14. I think that Neeld is getting him ready for next season, gradually build is fitness this year, get him ripe and ready for a hard pre-season and then let him loose is 2012. I also think that Gysberts is the type of player who will really benefit from having Jack Viney in our midfield, along with Jones those three will be the core of our midfield going forward. Two battering rams in Viney and Jones with Gysberts skills and awareness, it's pretty exciting...imo.
  15. Just to clarify something, that $10k donation was the result of an indiscretion of McLean's and it was the agreed punishment between he and the leadership group. indiscretion. I'd consider it if he was delisted and we picked him up very cheaply ie rookie pick. I wouldn't trade for thim though.
  16. Please do, I haven't seen moneyball but I've heard a lot of comments about it.
  17. Interesting, I thought Watts was out for the season for some reason
  18. Everyone should send them an email saying that we refuse to buy their product because of their association with him
  19. If this is true then Howe is a [censored] idiot.
  20. Even after all these years of seeing this shiite year after year I'm still not used to it.
  21. We need some skill in this side, for the first time this year I think we need to finish as low as possible. Thankfully we don't have to tank because we are shiite.
  22. Seriously? What for, comedy relief?
  23. Once again our turn overs are absolutely [censored] killing us
  24. How the [censored] can you compare Bruce deliberately manipulating the situation to get to Hawthorn for nothing to Todd Viney following his dream? Seriously? Also the Barassi situation, any comparison is laughable. There were no trades back then, how could it be possibly compared in the same light. FFS, [censored] grace and dignity.
  25. You know I probably should be gracious and mention what conribution he made to the club and how he was a great clubman and...nah, [censored] it. [censored] you Bruce, when you left Melbourne you could have ensured that we got something in return. But no, you kept on stalling on the contract, not telling the club that you were thinking about leaving for Hawthorn, rather giving the club the impression that you'd sign on. You stalled and waited until after the trade period, ensuring Hawthorn could get you for nothing. The MFC overpaid you for years, you were in the top 5 contracts at the clubs even though you were a turnover merchant. The karma gods obviously paid you back in kind for your actions I know I'm going to cop it for this opinion but I don't care, flame away.
