Shane Burgmann!! That's a blast from the past, I remember seeing him when I was much younger, looked a great prospect. From memory didn't he have something tragic happen with his family which made it really difficult for him?

$500k fine apparently

The man in the street thinks we tanked because of the articles they've read of hers

Caro just admitted that there isn't enough evidence to make the charges stick, even with all of her blind hatred she knows this. I bloddy hope we take it to the courts if they charge us.

Would love to play if there is room.

Depressed, on drugs ... dumped: father reveals son's AFL spiral
Jarka replied to Household Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
There are all different reasons why people get into drugs, a cashed up bogan who's partying hard with his mates is a completely different scenario to a young girl who ends up becoming a hooker due to reasons that she feels are beyond her control and ends up taking drugs to get her through a shift. Addiction doesn't give a flying [censored] which socioeconomic group you come from. In my younger days I used to be a bar manager at a well known night club, I've seen a lot of it, both the glamour and...well the other side. I agree with you Biff except I'll just add that there some areas of Melbourne whose residents are in very desperate circumstances. -
Depressed, on drugs ... dumped: father reveals son's AFL spiral

Personally I think the issue is that the AFL doesn't want there to be a third strike so they'll do anything to keep the problem hidden from publicity. The result is that the party attitude of the players goes on unchecked. -

I'm pretty sure it isn't us, we didn't delist any kids last season who fit the description. It's a pity that the main focus of this article will be to guess who it is and not to discuss the underlying issue -
Dirty Harry: "Well, we're not just gonna let you walk out of here.." Punk: "Who's we sucker?" Dirty Harry: [slowly drawing out his .44 magnum] "Smith & Wesson... and me" I'm sure there's someone around who could adapt it to the current situation

Jurrah really did the club a favour by walking out on us, he basically gave us an 'honourable' way out. Could you imagine how the Melbourne media would have responded to the club if he was still a listed player.

i'm not going to get involved with a discussion on Rudeboy, I don't know him so I have no idea what he's like but I have to laugh at the suggestion that just because someone lectures at Deakin Uni makes them anything special. I know you didn't mean it like that (at least I hope so) but that's how it came across.

I was very pleasantly surprised with Dunn's performance in the backline towards the end of last season. If anyone can remember my opinion of him from his early days you'll realise that it's a big statement from me. Someone earlier mentioned that he isn't smart enough, and when it comes to the pushing and being a general all round dick I agree, however his efforts during play was completely different. He showed great improvement in positioning in marking contests, one on one duels and disposal that sets up an attacking play. If he can continue this improvment who will become a very important player. I'm very, very happy to be finally proven wrong by him.

Jack, have you seen the report?

The suggestion that they ran out of time is ridiculous, the trade period went for a month ffs. He's a nasty piece of work.

Melbourne supporters should write to all the companies that advertise on SEN when Denham is on and tell them that we're going to boycott their products until he is removed from the station.

Good post Flying Cloud, that's some great questions.

What are the chances that this info will appear in one of the papers over the next 24 hours as an exclusive?
-
The AFL are starting to stink like oysters left in the sun all day, if there was any 'smoking gun' it would have reached the media by now, in fact I remember one journalist (sic) starting on SEN that there was no smoking gun, can't remember his name though. If we're charged I hope we take it to court

After seeing all the evidence that's been leaked to the media so far I'm not surprised that AA lost his job, The Age are now doing us a favour and the AFL's reputation is now taking a battering everytime an article is published. Watts not playing and threatening to be attached by the Zulu'z is just comedy relief stuff. For the AFL's sake I hope they have more than what we've seen.

The point that I struggle to understand is if in the scenario that none of our coaches or players are found guilty but Connolly is then how did we actually tank? Let's say that the comment he made was the evidence used to charge him, Connolly told everyone to tank, but if no one listened to him and the coaches just did what they had been doing all year then how did we physically tank? I firmly believe that to get us they have to prove that Bailey was involved in the process for them to get us.
-
Actually that opinion was formed after getting to know him very well before and during his playing career, the person was my father who became good friends with many other footballers who studied PE at Rusden ie Peter Curran, Chris Connolly etc. Healy was always a massive ego
-
If he was a [censored] at school then he turned it into an artform at uni, PE at Rusden and he was the original FIGJAM.

Ok, fair enough, thank you for responding and I apologise for the accusation. I'm prepared to take you at face value Deegirl
