  1. Our backline will be the best in the comp and keep sides to minimal scores. Our midfield/ruck should be as good as any and have depth. We need to consistently kick 15 goals a game. That's 330 for the season. Picket and Fritsch will kick 80 to 90 of those. Where do the track watchers see the rest (240) coming from? Who kicks how many? If someone else kicks 70 then we are half way there.
  2. The last hunched type forward I remember was peter hudson. With his broad hunched shoulders, bum pushed back, not many defenders could stop him marking. Hope he is somewhere near as good.
  3. How does the Casey training system work both pre season and in season. At some point do they take say 12 melbourne players who are obviously not in line for senior selection and train one day a week with the casey players. Can't imagine a Casey team could gel without some kind of joint training. Or do they just invite 6 -10 Casey players to Melbourne training one day a week.
  4. Have a look at his face in the 2km time trial on the website. That steely determined look compared with the others running behind. When the game is on I don't think you need to worry about a depressed look.
  5. He'll be just what we need to take over from ANB. He is a hunter. He tackles hard and runs to every contest and will make Viney's role much easier. With him, AMW and Viney we will have extreme small/medium player pressure second to no other club. The forwards will love him with his disposal which is a huge plus over ANB.
  6. He'll be great. Just what we needed someone in the midfield but can go forward and take a from the side front of pack mark in a similar way to Fritta. Tracc kicks goals from marks further out and none of the other midfielders are known for their goal kicking. This could be the guy who does that. His forward running will help Oliver as well - I can see the both of then combining through the middle of the ground.
  7. if he is excellent as an AFL player and later wants to go home, you get a first round pick and something else. So It's not much of a gamble.
  8. I'm sure with pick 5 we'll get a good midfielder that will add to our top midfield but he will probably be around 183 tall looking at what is available. The only thing we don't have is a tall 192 -194 cm midfielder that other clubs have. I hope we use pick nine for one.
  9. Whilst I dont have a problem with Petty going into defense, we have no other forward close to 200cm. He cant replace Thommo as he was only insurance for regular key defenders. TMac Lever and May are enough in our regular defence for talls.
  10. McVee wanted to put on weight. Anything obvious?
  11. Maybe an email to the club for the attention of Richardson would bring results knowing that most supporters use the spreadsheet as an overall guide
  12. And yet Frankston and Casey grounds are about the same travel time as each other from the city, and Casey has much better facilities for players including extra grounds to train on and an indoor kicking area.
  13. Love your work R&B. Any chance you could put a spot in for all the assistant coaches and roles (if known). There's been a couple of changes with maybe one more to come.
  14. Agree with all above. In my best 22
  15. The lights at Frankston have enabled night games for TV coverage and extra revenue. So they've gone from cellar dwellers to destination club.
  16. Usually at this time the occasional person spots a few having a run pre official training at Gosh's
  17. In the past you could go 35,7,2 but don't know if that still applies
  18. Still limited to max 44 players Last year 36 senor 6 rookie A 2 rookie B Now at 33 S 6A and 1B (assumes McVee has already been upgraded) If Smith and Hore go will be 32S 5A and 1B If AMW gets upgraded to senior list will be 33S 5A and 0B This leaves following spots 3 senior 1 rookie A 2 Rookie B There could be other combinations but I don't know the rule limiting the number of each category. I know some clubs leave a space for mid season draft in the past, but don't know if that has changed. Maybe they go 35, 8 and 1 if legal. Maybe they traded those picks in the 60's because there was better value of 20 -22 year old players from other comps to be picked as rookies.
  19. No. You just upgrade and get a vacancy at the rookie draft A. Rookie B is separate again.
  20. All the Casey players have contracts with local clubs and are paid on a games played basis. They also get a Casey contract. For instance Ned Moodie is contracted with Mornington but only played a couple of games there last year as he mostly played for Casey. He has been invited back this year.
  21. Perhaps because smith does not have a contract his name should be in red same as Hore.
  22. For the club to have delisted Thommo they must have someone in mind as we have no back up strong key position defender. Nothing in the delisted fields so far that fit the bill so wouldn't be surprised to see something from WA or SA in their leagues into a rookie spot.
  23. I thought they would keep him. Every side needs a defender with a big build making it hard for a forward to maneuver around. May and to a lesser extent TMac fill that roll for us, but there was only Tommo who could cover for injuries. If Lever goes down then Petty could go back and cover for him, but Petty has a slim build and couldn't cover for May. I hope they've got a younger big build defender in mind among delisted players.
  24. Have a look at the contracts spread sheet on this website. AMW is a category B so if he is upgraded there are 2 category B spots. ( the other for KFW delisting). Hore is a category A rookie and they haven't yet given him a contract. If they don't he is delisted and creates a category A vacancy.
