  1. Salem Adams Turner CJ Lever AMW Langdon Viney Culley Chandler JVR Fritsch Petty Mihocek Melksham Gawn Rivers Picket Windsor (Mid/def) Lindsay(def/wing) Langford(mid/fwd) Steele(Mid/Def) 7 or 8 Em. Kentfield, TMac, Bowey Heath Tempted to try Bowey as a forward instead of Melksham.
  2. You could upgrade Culley and have 37 after delisting Woey. Then 2 more A rookies. One of Sinemma, Te Amu or White misses out unless you use pick 37 for one of them.
  3. With no Wade, I'd like to see jefferson do the off season as a defender. He's behind Kentfield in potential and with Mihocek coming his chances as a forward are limited. He filled in at CHB a couple of times at casey and did ok. He has good hands and is reasonably quick for his size, so might become a good interceptor.
  4. Cant imagine Whitford on the bench game day giving advice as choco did.
  5. I just hope they have some one to take choco's spot. Senior to high level coach involved in premierships to add experience and support in specialised areas, rather than a line coach. Hammil doesn't fit that.
  6. yeah probably something like Flanders to Saints, Petracca to Suns, Early draft pick (Suns) and Heath to Dees. Doesn't seem enough to us but maybe a future first rounder as well. Don't like it as we really need midfield depth that Humphrey would provide.
  7. A tall forward is more important to stop the easy intercept marking. Oscar played close on both Moore and DeKoning in their last two games and was succcessful while Neale played loose on Andrews and he had a ball. Maybe heath could fill that role. But you are correct they either have to kick goals or allow others to kick them.
  8. Just a suggestion but could you put RA, RB and S (Rookie A & B, Senior) next to the names under list changes. You can work it out but would make it easier. Given we normally go 36.6 and 2 for our list. So we lose McVee which would make the list from this season 32,4,2 Which means we add 4 senior list ( say 2 in the trade period and 2 drafted) and 4 rookies. So likely Derkson and Heath in the trade but might be others. Although you could add May to the possibles for another. So leaves 2 for the draft. Maybe White and Sinnema to the rookie list if they agree. Then pick 2 other A rookies. Whilst the names might be different it seems we are pretty much limited to 2 people from the trade period and same for the draft.
  9. Exactly the sort of midfielder we are missing. Gets a bit of the ball and uses it well. Oliver mainly handballs, Viney and Tracc are unreliable kicks. Rivers is a good long kick but not accurate passing to someone. Salem is the only accurate kick that sometimes goes through the midfield.
  10. You have to have a back up small guy to cover injuries that is not a 19 year old, and if he suddenly starts kicking 4 or 5 goals at Casey give him a go. However if a younger small guy plays well at Casey you'd give him a chance first. Insurance value. He is not on the senior list so makes some sense.
  11. Final lists not due for some time so might be more delistings to come. Especially if agreements are made to pay out contracts that would otherwise continue next year.
  12. We had 3 what you might call players who would be in contention for the senior side - Cully, Tholstrup and Howes. Cully threw himself in and made a difference. Tholstrup was hesitant and seems to have a slow reaction time and when he needed to step up and kick that goal -failed. Howes was not in the same class as some of the other defenders from both sides from VFL level. I don't understand why he doesn't get physical. When you compare him with Cully it's like chalk and cheese
  13. We have 11 on our senior and rookie lists that do not have a contract for next year. I think all but 2 will go including McVee, who if they wanted to keep, would have had a contract by now. 3 senior list have to go for AFL rules and 2 rookies because of the LTI. So 6 others.
  14. It's tough. Spargo and so many others showed a lot in the VFL game. But at the end of the day we have to reduce our senior list by 3 players before the draft under AFL rules and we also have to reduce the rookies by at least 2 which we got as extras due to the long term injury list. You would also want to bring some young blood onto the rookie list. So I would suggest it will come down to at least 7 delistings.
  15. Lots of player, umpiring and coaching reasons we lost so many games this year. But above all we lost most games because we cannot kick straight in front of goal. This is yet another game we have had more shots on goal than the opposition. In all our losses it has been the same - more points than goals. The saints 21/7 to 7/21 was the most obvious but against the pies losing by a point kicking 10/11 to 11/6 the most costly.
  16. It's a double negative. for every side that has 200+ forwards you need 200+ defenders - Andrews, Moore, Lobb and Mac Andrew(that really hurts) Secondly it makes it harder for Kentfield, JVR and Jeffo when they dont have that other tall forward Miss AMW against the likes of Butler.
  17. Yeah simply because we don't have any 200 cm+ alternatives. It's ridiculous.
  18. Yes you might be right. You can't blame Salem if that is what he is told to do. McVee seemed to be a run on player last year but not this year so maybe it is an instruction with only Bowey allowed to run on. Seems crazy to me as all the better sides create run and carry off half back to break lines and give forwards one on one opportunities
  19. Yeah even when he gets it a bit doesn't provide any run, McVee is even worse Metres gained per possession last game. McVee 8 Salem 11 Lever 15 Turner 17 May 17 Bowey 20
  20. Be interesting changing the rucks at full forward as Dons did a bit last year. Big gulf between top 8 and bottom 8 - over last 5 rounds top 8 30 wins and 10 losses. Bottom 8 the exact opposite.
  21. Yes really miss AMW as a small aggressive defender to take those types
  22. I don't understand why he doesn't show some desperation. There were times where he could have impacted, he just strolled around the contest. He has to have been told that it is a weakness in his game.
  23. You are right there are plenty of good key forwards under 200 but most are accompanied by one or more over or there abouts Collingwood is an odd one out but they occasionally use Cox 211 as a forward Brisbane Hipwood 204 Crows Tilthorpe 201 Geelong Meale 203 Hawks Chol 200 Freo Jackson 200 Dogs Darcy 208 Suns Read 202 King 202 Giants Tallest is Riccardi 198 Port Marshall 198 although Whitlock is being groomed at 202 Carlton McKay 200 Young 202 Swans Ladham 202 but usually McLean 197 is tallest Essendon Wright 203 Saints King 202 North Larkey 198 Richmong Lynch 199 West Coast J. Williams 198 Probably more important to have a key defender at that height.
