2024 List and Contract Details
Still limited to max 44 players Last year 36 senor 6 rookie A 2 rookie B Now at 33 S 6A and 1B (assumes McVee has already been upgraded) If Smith and Hore go will be 32S 5A and 1B If AMW gets upgraded to senior list will be 33S 5A and 0B This leaves following spots 3 senior 1 rookie A 2 Rookie B There could be other combinations but I don't know the rule limiting the number of each category. I know some clubs leave a space for mid season draft in the past, but don't know if that has changed. Maybe they go 35, 8 and 1 if legal. Maybe they traded those picks in the 60's because there was better value of 20 -22 year old players from other comps to be picked as rookies.

2024 NATIONAL DRAFT ORDER AND SELECTIONS
No. You just upgrade and get a vacancy at the rookie draft A. Rookie B is separate again.

Casey Demons - offseason 2024/5
All the Casey players have contracts with local clubs and are paid on a games played basis. They also get a Casey contract. For instance Ned Moodie is contracted with Mornington but only played a couple of games there last year as he mostly played for Casey. He has been invited back this year.

Perhaps because smith does not have a contract his name should be in red same as Hore.

Delistings 2024
For the club to have delisted Thommo they must have someone in mind as we have no back up strong key position defender. Nothing in the delisted fields so far that fit the bill so wouldn't be surprised to see something from WA or SA in their leagues into a rookie spot.

Farewell Adam Tomlinson
I thought they would keep him. Every side needs a defender with a big build making it hard for a forward to maneuver around. May and to a lesser extent TMac fill that roll for us, but there was only Tommo who could cover for injuries. If Lever goes down then Petty could go back and cover for him, but Petty has a slim build and couldn't cover for May. I hope they've got a younger big build defender in mind among delisted players.

Potential Father Son Prospect Noah Yze
Have a look at the contracts spread sheet on this website. AMW is a category B so if he is upgraded there are 2 category B spots. ( the other for KFW delisting). Hore is a category A rookie and they haven't yet given him a contract. If they don't he is delisted and creates a category A vacancy.

Potential Father Son Prospect Noah Yze
if they elevate AMW from the rookie list he comes from Category B leaving two spots in that section of rookies. Mentha one and the other can be also academy, international or other sport such as basketball. We have no vacancies at the moment on the ordinairy A rookie list and I can't see anyone there being upgraded just for the sake of creating a vacancy. If Hore goes then there is one vacancy. More likely to select out of contract players after the draft or save a spot for mid year draft to fill the senior list. So appears to me a choice of Yze or Hore unless they have their eyes on another cat A player. If we do not get Derkson I don't see the rationale in getting rid of Thomlinson. We don't need the senior spots as we have more spots than selections at the draft and we need a key defender to cover injuries. I make no assessment on Adams but he is at least 2 years away from building a body and confidence.

Welcome to Demonland: Harry Sharp
To my mind that was the strength of ANB He not only had the endurance to be able to do it, but also the will to run back and assist defensively. Does Sharp run both ways?

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 9
Really happy with 5 and 9. With Tassie picks I believe happening next year all our picks will drop 10 - 20 places, so not really concerned so much about losing the future ones.

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 9
Can anyone enlighten me? We are about 5 players short on our senior list according to the spreadsheet on the website. If we only finish up with 6,9 and forty something, how do we get the extra players. Our rookie list is full except for a Category B which will probably go to an academy player. 1 pick mid-season still leaves us short. Do they just put someone from the rookie list on the senior list and then draft another rookie? Seems a waste of a spot, but I guess they might have an eye on some left field rookie. They did it with Sestan.

9 Reasons to be Positive Heading into 2025
lost 4 close games. Win 2 or 3 of them and in finals and the conversation changes. The reason we lost those games was because of injury to top players. 2 big losses hurt, but that's all.

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Does anyone know much about Gabriel Stumpf? Is he worth a late pick? Tall and tested well at combine.

2024 List and Contract Details
The list is not a bad spread. 14 players 22 or under the rest split evenly mid 20's and late 20's to early 30's Then add in another probably 5 or 6 younger ones at draft. Gives the opportunity for rebuild whilst retaining experience. If they lose both Hore and Thomlinson we will be desperate for some back up defenders.

Farewell Alex Neal-Bullen
AMW more suited. Gets much more of the ball and more of an in and under player. Both got pace.

2024 List and Contract Details
Makes it even more easy to see quite a few delistings at the end of next year. Could be as many as 7 not counting rookies.

The Melbourne - Norwood connection
It won't be in my time, but just purely on population and footy interest there will be at least 4 teams in S.A., NSW, W.A. and Qld. 2 in Tas and NT. Probably with an East and West conference similar to USA. A country of 50 Mil would support that.

5 Young Dees Re-Sign
AMW is the pick of them I think
-
Farewell Adam Tomlinson
They tried Jefferson there a few times. Maybe if he doesn't come up as a forward, that cold happen. I think Adams is a way off in his development as he missed the whole first year with injury.

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
The crows want ANB but they don't need him. I can't see us getting very high picks for him.
- Welcome to Demonland: Luker Kentfield

Pick 25 for McAdam
I just hope chandler over summer learns how to do a sharp turn instead of a wide arc and becomes more instinctive about giving the ball off. Even just a flick on rather than always taking possession. He could be so much better.

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 5
Viney and ANB have been the only successful small mids in the last 10 years. Jordan was the last we let go. Laurie and Spargo are in and out of the side and I'd say White is the best midfielder at Casey ahead of other MFC listed players. Doesn't mean Spargo and Laurie won't become permanent but not so far.
-
Welcome to Demonland: Pick 5
just hope they don't pick another small sized midfielder. We keep them for 3 years and then send them off - it's a waste.
