  1. Right. I've jumped the gun a bit. Regardless, Toumpas is likely to go at pick 2 behind Whitfield anyway. That is an increasingly likely outcome.
  2. Then don't [censored] FORCE IT. Just accept the situation and find other ways to win out this post-season. This is amateur hour if true.
  3. I don't think our involvement in the mini-draft is dependant on the Viney situation. The potential Dawes deal plays a signifcant role. If we can't reach an agreeable trade for Dawes then Hogan enters the picture again. If Toumpas is gone by pick 4 and O'Rourke, Mayes, Wines et al are our options - with Viney already locked away - I think the power forward has the whip hand.
  4. Collingwood AND Melbourne have discussed? More like: "Collingwood have floated the idea to Melbourne, but Melbourne slammed the door on it."
  5. An incredible athlete but has been warned countlessly by his school coaches to harden up.
  6. I agree. If Stringer over O'Rourke or Mayes or Wines then I'd be equally as happy.
  7. Wow. Some of you are putting Watts on way too high a pedestal here. Carlton would have to bring in another club to deal with because pick 11 won't pass the grade. It won't happen. But there's a big thread on the main board where many 'landers were willing to trade him this month.
  8. With a name like his I thought this thread would be providing some Partridge-esque comic relief. Disappointing. And who TF cares about second-tier nobodies?
  9. I'd rather a gorilla forward taking 5 marks and scoring 1.2 goals a game than Ray.
  10. Stringer was equal-third in the 'Clean Hands Test' and equal-first in the 'Goal Kicking Test' at the Draft Combine.
  11. The Draft Combine had Jesse weighing in at 97.4 kilos. He also has a hand span of 24.8 centimetres, which is 0.3 less than ruckman Brodie Grundy.
  12. Todd and Jack are consummate professionals - they will go where they are needed. If Viney joins GWS or Gold Coast, he's playing there for life. But indeed he won't be, so it's all a moot point, which seems to get lost on enough people to let this thread go on for 22 pages.
  13. Neeld has seen Collingwood's twin-tall forward structure in full motion and I'm sure he wants to replicate it here. Lynch is out and Tippett will break the bank. Pedersen, Casboult and any others mentioned are depth at best. It's Dawes or Hogan, I reckon. Wishing for both.
  14. The very existence of this thread is too predictable. The bigger story here is what Mike said before it: "I'm going to get in trouble for this", or words to that effect. Earlier this year I read stories that indicated the whole media were being treated very poorly by Melbourne because of their ongoing criticism of the club. It wouldn't surprise me if Mark Neeld or someone else has been in Mike Sheahan's ear and told him to zip it, among others. We know as a fact Neeld confronted the ABC broadcasters when they wrongfully declared Gysberts and Cook on the outer. I don't think we need to get all uppity about what the media says. They're paid to spout tabloid rubbish and it doesn't seem to phase other clubs in the most part.
  15. Port will ask for pick 13, I think. I'd hesitate at that but not flat-out reject it. Pick 26 is out if Viney goes there. Smart money is on talks breaking down and Butcher staying put. But a man's gotta dream this season.
  16. John Butcher was rated in the top-two draft picks in early 2009. An agile forward but notably an attacking forward. He never wanted to leave Victoria and, given his lack of game-time due to injury, I reckon it's affecting him right now. With Mitch Clark and (potentially) Jesse Hogan in 2014, he won't need to be a star and nobody will expect that from him. He fills an important role in a forward line that has been devoid of structure this year. He fills one of our most important needs, if not the most important. As long as his body holds up. Touch wood.
  17. I've never known so many Gen-Y Hawks supporters come out of the woodwork this year. All born in the mid-to-late '80s, probably saw their first game during the pretty-boy era and turned their backs on the game soon after. Now they're back in their droves. Swans by a gajillion.
  18. Brock is nothing but a bad stink. Let him have his Twitter fun.
  19. And then there's this: And the U.S. made Assange an enemy of state over this hobo-chic douchebaggery ...
