Our interesting mix of talls for 2023
DeeZone replied to deelusions from afar's topic in Melbourne Demons
Sorry 58er I didn’t count our regular fit talls in that equation.!! But you are correct when you add in Max, Disco, Steven May, Harrison Petty and Jake Lever, if they all bear fruit we are in for one helluva ride.!!!!! -
I received one for Xmas, I stuck it on my number plate holder looked real schmick it recenty came into contact with the garage door so looking for a replacement.😢

Agree TL now that we have our list better balanced we can be very selective in 2023 / 2024 but yes need to get them into the team as soon as they are match ready we need to keep improving our bottom eight players. If we want to win more flags and stay at the top. !!!!

Our interesting mix of talls for 2023

To my mind we have gone from Rags to Riches with regards to Talls. We lost LJ, Mitch Brown, our back-up ruckman, Thommo was coming back from ACL plus we weren’t sure that TMac or BBB would make full recoveries in time for 2023. I felt that we were extremely exposed prior to the Trade / Draft period, then miraculously in waltzes Brodie Grundy AA Ruck, Josh Schache 200cm back up fwd / ruck / defender, Matthew Jefferson 195 cm future Star forward, Jed Addams 196 cm future star defender, Rookie Will Verral talented 200cm ruck / forward plus Cat B Rookie Kyah Farris - White 206cm Ruckman ex basketballer.plus Rookie Ollie Seston a real Smokey power fwd.!!! On top of this haul we have a fully fit Adam Tomlinson 195cm Utility, Jacob van Rooyen young tough and talented 194 cm Fwd that is ready to go Plus our Premiership star forwards in TMac and BBB building beautifully for 2023. Now thinking back on my anxiety during those last to Finals and knowing that LJ had checked out I could not have wished for a better Trade / Draft period to help keep us at the top of the heap. Plus a strong hand for 2023 Draft Period, I follow MFC am I dreaming.!!!!! -
Thinking the same thing dazzle, I am hoping that we look at a power inside mid, tallish mid and small fwd / defender. It will depend on whether Kozzie re-signs, if he does focus on defender. Really hoping that Kozzie stays.!!!

Max has Dean Cox covered but let’s see in 3-4 years how their stats stack up, if not for Gawny’s early injuries he could have had the throne to himself.!!!
-
Sorry WD I said debut but include new faces such as Chandler & Turner, the debutantes are JVR, Laurie and Howes, they will need to knock the door down but we must have a degree of refresh in the team and fierce competition for spots.
-
I think that it will be on for young and old this year Deemac we have some great kids coming through the ranks and I won’t be surprised if 4-5 players debut this year.!!
-
I must admit that Brodie Grundy is really starting to grow on me, can he really have come from Collingwood.!!!

What happened Dazzle?

Harrison Petty is looking the goods, another year older and stronger still only 23 a great role model for the kids coming through via Casey. !!!

Different times different pressures, soldiers are fighting for their lives and the lives of their mates as well as killing those you are fighting against. I have watched numerous interviews with people that fought on the front lines a lot of them ended up in psychiatric wards years after they returned home they didn’t have access to support and thought that they were weak if they asked for it. We now live in a far more enlightened time where help is more readily available and we celebrate successes yet anxiety, depression and the suicide rate remains at an alarming level. Thank goodness that people are building the confidence to speak out and share their personal issues in an effort to help others.!!!

Personally I can’t wait to see big Max and Brodie dominating the ruck duels and providing AA relief if either is injured or sore. Our midfielders should get first look in majority of cases, something we are not used to.!!!
-
I think that Luke had already left when he failed to extend his contract when Trent Rivers and Kozzie extended theirs.!!!

Happy 27th Christian Petracca enjoy your time in the sun a true champ of the MCG. ❤️💙

Wow what a team, we need a couple more flags before I would replace the 22 but would slot Clayton, Max and Christian and Neita into the Emegencies. On second thoughts I think that Max would push Jimma to emergency and Clayton would push Todd down to emergency status as well and Tracc isn’t far off.

Thanks Kev that is a good Xmas / new year break will be good to see them back.!!!
-
That would be some trifecta monocular what more could we ask for.!!!
-
All my bases are well and truly covered above.✅✅
-
Yes you are correct rpfc still a bit dozey from Xmas, etc.!!!
-
Totally agree willmoy I am hoping that he is one of the young brigade that really steps it up in 2023.!!
