I agree with you all we are a better team with Cam in than we are with him out of the side. He deserves another year and when you take a closer look he hasn't played that much footy, so his body should hold up . On another note , I was very happy for Jack Fitzpatrick today, we should have kept him.!!!!

I concur with a lot of the Posters on Demonland what a really crap way to end a half decent year. Thank you Paul Roos you have shown us what we are capable off, unfortunately the kids are cooked and so are we supporters. GO Casey!!!

My daughter and I were sitting in almost the same seats as the Essendon game in the Ponsford Stand, you could tell in the first five minutes that the Blue baggers were playing us in the same manner as the Bombers and Saints, hard at us in the middle, nullifying Gawn and putting our mid's on the back foot. They were clean with their hands and kicked to moving targets. They scored easier goals and showed up our inexperience around the ground, they received the free kicks that they should have received and we did not. later in the game we had the opportunities to peg them back but continued to hit up their back men (standing by themselves in our forward line??) or kicked point after point after point. It was difficult to watch after coming off our best month of Footy in almost ten years. It was an insipid display for A TEAM THAT HAD A "SNIFF". I Love the Dee's but found this Defeat very difficult to accept. Go Dee's!!!!

Call me crazy but I am glad Hurley stayed, another overpaid under performer could damage the "chemistry" that we have going with the two Mac's and Frost. More to lose than gain in my opinion and if Hibberd is keen to come over who's spot does he take??

I feel your pain WJ & BBO I am still flying high from Saturday and talk about Ground Hog Day I keep watching the last 12 minutes of the last quarter..... sheer delight!!! I also haven't got my head around the Port Game yet and judging from this thread neither have a lot of other Demonland Posters. how good was Watts in those last critical minutes, you have to love Jack. Those stats are awesome, Max's continuing rise in the AFL's ranks and his chemistry within the mid field group has created a real advantage for us at stoppages and centre clearances and we now have the mid's to be able to utilise that dominance to really hurt the opposition. GO MAX - GO DEE's!!!

This win is the one that we all Craved so much, edging out the win against the Cats last year down there when Max came of age, he is such a dynamic force. I don't know what the fitness team did this week but the whole team were running on top of the grass for a full four quarters and finished all over the Top Team!!! watching Oliver on the wing surrounded by hawks pick the ball up one handed and hand ball to a team mate was inspirational are his hands really that big? What a Game to debut in and kick two goals to boot, I loved every minute of that game and have re-watched it again today, it was epic and now they all know what they are capable off, led by Captain Courageous and Max the Gigantor, every player did their bit for the team. It was our best Team Win that I can remember and we all got the chance to be there and Share in the spoils, singing madly, clapping feverishly and Booing those dumb one eyed clowns umpiring the game - Even they could not rain on our Big Day Out at the G. GO You Mighty DEE's!!!

I agree with most of what has been discussed here and summed up quite succinctly. I also felt less uneasy as time has gone by, Goodwin has tasted the ultimate success as a player and Captained a successful side. It will be quite exciting to see him put his brand of footy out on the park. Thank you all for summing it up so well for the rest of us. I also like your sentiments Biffen but I crave a win over this mob even more than the saints, they have tortured us for years, just cannot see us applying our best pressure for four quarters and that is the only way that I can see us beating them. Unless of course we took full advantage of big Max's dominance in the ruck and actually scored some easy goals out of the middle ala Petracca and VB. I want it to still be up for grabs at the 20 minute mark of the last quarter. Also just on Pedo wasn't it blowing a gale out at Pirahna park?? GO DEE's

He is an endurance runner an excellent mark and accurate kick for goal, I may be wrong but I cannot remember hearing people talking about how slow he was when he came to the club. MFC would be the bunnies if JT resurrects his career at another club, hopefully the Coaching team give him the opportunity for an injury free pre-season to get back to the Player that he was!! Every one around us was frustrated but relieved that we had won the game, we were on L2 Punt Road end and we could hear the Song but not as loud as usual, we still sang the song as if we had one by 10 goals, any win is a good win even if it was marred by wasteful turn overs and poor decision making. We would have lost this game in previous years and as a number of posters said earlier it was an Ugly Win but it puts us back in front of Collingwood. Wattsy, Gawnie, Tyson, Petracca, McDonalds x2, Hunt & Vanders all put in. - GO DEE's!!
