  1. Watching a Qualifying final just blows my mind that we had 4 chances to make a prelim and blew every one of them in ‘22 and ‘23. Statistical chances of that happening would be awfully low.
  2. To become the best ground ball team in the comp like we were in 2021
  3. No Saturday night games No night games against interstate sides at the MCG.
  4. If the Cats go out in straight sets (very possible) will they get the same heat after winning a flag as we did? No finals and straight sets is worse than 2x straight sets.
  5. Considering his brother ran through a Collingwood banner for his own wedding (source Instagram) then the comment by Trac’s Dad at the B&F that “We’re a Collingwood family” really does hold true.
  6. Unfortunately with the way AFL media is, this will hang over the club’s head for the next 12 months until the next trade period. Having said that, a lot can change in 12 months such as: 1) the Dees have a successful season and win at least one final at the MCG 2) Dees have a poor year and somehow the Pies have the trade capital 3) Dees have an average season however the Pies are no longer in the window/Blues don’t have the cap space I actually think the Pies will finish bottom 4 next year due to their aging list and injury issues. Even if we do struggle on-field next year, the Pies might not look appealing anymore. We’re going to be the most under pressure team next year. The last time that happened, we won a flag. Call me an optimist, but hopefully this fork in the road brings about some change needed.
  7. No he wouldn’t in this instance. He’s defending him because he’s part of the AFL360 family. He’s trying to pin it back on the club after the Roffey interview. But based on his research back with what Melbourne and the AFL said about Petracca’s condition, it lines up with the timeline as to when the Petracca family became upset. I have no doubt that us painting it as rosy really annoyed him and the family. What Gerard is failing to grasp is the level that Trac is using this as a scapegoat to facilitate a trade for other reasons which has been leaked (e.g. Brand Petracca). If there was no truth to that element, Petracca would be happy to go anywhere.
  8. Hmm so this is your first post? How about you worry about your Dad’s army team who will probably all get injured again next year. Can’t wait to hear McCrae keep on calling this flash in the pan side a bunch of winners.
  9. I completely forgot about this tweet, and I scoffed at it at the time, but it’s turned out to be true. Note the date of the tweet. Only 4 days after KBD and also 4 days before Morris reported that Petracca’s family were unhappy with the club’s treatment in the days following the injury. The tweet could have just been a lucky strike for this acct, but If not, this has been a really long run up for Trac. Maybe the club has known since June too.
  10. I honestly think there’s no point speculating a trade to Carlton. We would get massive unders as I can’t see McKay or De Koning agreeing to the trade given the turmoil surrounding the club. The only trade I can see happening is draft picks at a Gold Coast or Adelaide. Despite Morris and McClure relishing in the negativity around Melbourne, I think it’s closer to 80% he’s staying and 20% going. I sensed some real authenticity with Gawn’s interview and if he’s accepting him back in, then the whole playing group will (such is the influence of Gawn on the players).
  11. So it’s now out in the open that his Mrs is influencing his trade decision thanks to Robbo. This is going to change the tide against Trac again amongst the general public despite Roffey’s poor interview. Trac won’t be happy now that this is public knowledge. It really is in his best interest to call it quits on this crusade now.
  12. Surely Trac’s grievances of people not checking in with him wouldn’t extend to someone like Roffey. It would be the likes of Richo, Goody, Max, Mini, Oliver etc he would have wanted more from. I wonder if the fact all the players went on their mid-season break compounded the issue? A bit of out of sight out of mind?
  13. Just a snippet from Robbo’s article. The only other bit was one of the players saying “I hope Lamby doesn’t stuff up the trade deal”
  14. No that was at Max’s bar and in the afternoon. This was in Fitzroy
  15. Goes without saying though, players shouldn’t be discussing this in public. Hopefully they’re not that stupid.
  16. So let me get this straight, the meeting at Gawn’s bar had someone from the public leak details and now this other casual drinks with players has been leaked. How dumb can you be? The rustic Marion Wine Bar in Gertrude St, Fitzroy, was the scene for a peculiar little gathering of Melbourne players on Tuesday night. Clearly, the players didn't seem to care - or they thought they couldn't be heard — by the table of serious football fans sitting at the next table. The pleasant surprise seeing AFL players on a windy Tuesday night was one thing, their astonishment at what the players - clearly frustrated - were saying about Christian Petracca was another. So much so, notes were taken. Words such as "weird" were heard, and how Petracca's "weirdness" was accepted at Melbourne, but would not be accepted at another club.
  17. This is why I rate Bevo so highly. He did an amazing job pulling that club back together. He also doesn’t take [censored] from the media, his take down of Tom Morris is honestly something Goody should take a leaf out of.
  18. If we had won the flag in ‘22 or ‘23 no one would be caring all that much. The problem is everyone thought this group would win multiple flags.
  19. Judd did it back in 2008 or whenever he left. Remember how they made him a Visy ambassador? It’s not new, but it’s just more visible with social media.
  20. I thought Roffey’s interview was hit and miss. I thought the stuff on Oliver, Petty and Pickett was well handled, however she stumbled quite a lot on the Petracca issue. What I can’t understand is why she kept on referring back to her perspective rather than taking the perspective as someone representing the MFC. Why would you say to the question, “Has Christian Petracca told the club he wants out” “well he hasn’t told that me specifically”. We’re not interested in your perspective, we want to know from a club perspective which surely you must be across! I just felt it came across as someone who was more interested in how they are being perceived personally rather than how the club is viewed.
  21. I basically need a dual monitor setup to keep track of the Trac and Kozzy threads. This club really is fighting on multiple fronts here.
  22. Why has Morris mentioned that Pickett’s reason is “direction of the club”? That’s completely false. How does channel 9 let that go on the air? Also I believe @WalkingCivilWar mentioned that Kozzy’s partner has family in Melbourne which has been helpful with the new baby.
  23. Honestly, with this latest article and the Pickett story, Pert needs to a call an all of club meeting and tell everyone to stop talking to the press. This leaking of information is just ridiculous.
  24. Cripps and Walsh would steal more. Daicos at Collingwood too
  25. Gawn is arguably the most recognisable player in the AFL. Bont has a bigger profile too and plays at a smaller club. It honestly doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.
