  1. I've been a staunch Goodwin defender and absolutely thankful for the 2021 premiership. However, I think it's time for a fresh voice. When we win off turnover the players just look confused, we play with no urgency, slow and wide exits from the D50. Our forward entries haven't changed and the inaction on Combden today was laughable. Longmire is a bloody good coach who's had his players fail recently on the big stage but ultimately he's a great tactician, values good kicking and understands the modern game. I'd implore the board to not let him slip through our hands.
  2. Disgusting efficiency inside 50 against one of the worst defensive teams in the league.
  3. Goodwin can go. How do you not put someone on Combden? Just dumb
  4. The plaudits on Petty were well overstated last week. Horrible with his one-on-ones
  5. Feel like we've taken them too lightly over the years. Surely we won't do the same thing today.
  6. If we go out and win all 3 (very doable) more members will jump on
  7. North would have looked good value for most at $3. Also, there's been a couple of surprising results so far this season
  8. Let's see us on a dry day first I think before making a full judgement on our ball movement. Even GWS barely had any fluidity in their game in those conditions last week. Carlton are very easy to move the ball against.
  9. So the roof will be closed?
  10. Not surprised with the lopsided free kick count for a Pies game. If you've ever heard Pendles mic'd up, he constantly talks to the umps and appeals the whole game. I definitely think he uses his 390 odd games experience to try and give the appearance he's a know-it-all when it comes to umpire officiating.
  11. Ball movement is the new king. We were lucky we got our flag just before the trend kicked in. The Lions had far superior ball movement in that grand final. They moved the ball with ease and the Swans applied little to no pressure in closing space. The Swans biggest flaw was being too invested into their zone defence and guarding space that the Lions just kicked their way through it. From what I've seen, Cox had started to push a more of a hybrid defence. I reckon Goody is more concerned with improving our new method over wins and losses
  12. I just still feel they lack a really good tall forward and their midfield depth can fall away pretty quickly. I wouldn't be surprised if the Giants beat them by 5+ goals next week.
  13. First time I've seen this. Unforgivable from Oliver. The first goal was worse, but with the second I can understand how he may have got sucked into the contest a little bit, but overall, just really poor defending from him.
  14. At the end of last year I was able to buy a Trident tier membership after being on the waiting list for 1-2 years. Does anyone know if the seat allocation changes every year? I'm in the last row from the front, so just wondeingr if it gets better...
  15. I think the Roos will definitely appeal the decision. We probably won't know if he's going to play until Thursday night.
  16. Thanks @Ghostwriter please let us know if you hear anything on when May might become available 🙏
  17. Logue is out with a hamstring and Archer may miss due to the MRO. Comben was very poor last week and North still struggle with team defence. We absolutely have to punish them when going inside 50. My biggest worry is Petty on Larkey. I thought Petty looked suspect in one-on-ones last week. McDonald should handle Darling fine. Does Hore come in if he's fit to take Zuhaar? I also thought we lowered our colours a fair bit in clearance last week. Need more out of Clarry and Trac. Also it's Darling's 300th game if that means anything for North
  18. I noticed this at the game and it was so evident how bad we were at the ground ball in the front half. I guess we matched their tall defenders with our tall forward set up, but our ability to win the ground ball was horrendous. I still can't work out why Fritsch is playing so far up the ground. He's still our most dangerous forward a long with Kozzy.
  19. All I'll say is that if we don't win on Sunday, the honorable loss to GWS won't mean a thing, and we'd be at danger of going 0-3 given the Suns always start the season well (as we saw on Sunday evening). Also, TC would be very handy considering he was excellent against Xerri in the practice match, and that Fritsch better hope that Archer remains suspended because Archer gave him an almighty bath last time.
  20. Toby kicked at least 1 on Petty and Petty was on him when he set up 1-2 others Petty was actually pretty average apart from his intercept work.
  21. And then Freo as our third. It's like they've done it as punishment.
  22. Honestly, Dees fans get enough of this [censored] on X from opposition supporters, we don't really need it here on Demonland This fixture last year of Richmond vs Port on the F1 Sunday they only had 25k. The last time the Blues played an interstate team at the G in 2023 they had 29k. Both those clubs have massive membership numbers. 23k was decent with that weather.
  23. Whitfield absolutely shanked that kick-in which caused a chaos ball and no one was expecting it to go that way. It was just lucky for them that Callaghan was there to receive the wild handball.
  24. Lots of people towards the back. Definitely not as bad as people are saying.
