  1. I find it hard to believe that this footy department, which won a flag 3 seasons ago, wouldn’t be receptive to Trac’s feedback on performance, which then led him to go public with his grievances. It’s not like it’s Ablett at the Gold Coast here. I hear guys like May say the Melbourne way, and many media people say we train the hardest (King in particular). I wonder if it’s more to do with this current group’s flag prospects over the next few years. Morris did say “direction of the club”. Trac has his brand and he knows he’s probably only at his peak for 3-4 more years. I can’t wait until he breaks his silence, but he has a lot work to do to make it up to this playing group. Tomorrow’s game is almost a side-show for the media. Goody wasn’t even asked about the game this weekend during his presser.
  2. I’m so glad that posters are now realising how poorly Trac has handled this whole situation. Putting his brand above the club will severely damage any hope he has of being captain. He has a lot of growing up to do.
  3. If Port want 2 first rounders then we should be asking for 3. However, there’s no way he’s going to be playing for Collingwood. He’d also be delusional to think if they’ve got any success coming soon. They’ve got the oldest list in the league and will probably bottom out next year or the year after.
  4. “Players running their own agenda” is the best quote I’ve seen on this whole issue. Lewis knows exactly what’s going on and the poor way the Petracca stuff has been leaked.
  5. 100%. It’s absolutely true. You just have to watch Gawn’s interview and the way he reacted. This discontentment has been bubbling under the surface but Morris just brought into the mainstream once he got enough evidence to corroborate it with his sources.
  6. It can often be just one player. I know for 99% certainty that Morris was getting his Bulldogs intel (that caused the Bevo blowup) from a certain key defender who he played club cricket with.
  7. Sayers was fronting up a lot when Voss was under serious heat last year. He backed him in and they went on to make a prelim.
  8. After part 1 of the Fremantle horror show.
  9. He’d be terrible at poker because you could see right through that.
  10. This self interest protection aligns to the rumour I’ve also heard. It doesn’t paint Trac in a good light. It says more about where his interests lie as opposed to something the club is doing wrong.
  11. I honestly opened this thread expecting it to be a joke. Feel like there’s a bit of a domino effect going on at the moment.
  12. Still not addressing the fact he’s unhappy with the club in the first place.
  13. Tom Morris just brought it into the mainstream. I've heard for weeks, and with a few others on here, that he's been disgruntled with the club.
  14. No good media team should be caring about FTA coverage. Does anyone in the AFL media talk about TV ratings? No, they only talk about attendance. The Hawks have had 1 FTA game all year and their supporters are turning up in droves with the way they're playing. They need to do a poll of our supporter base and find out what our preferred day/times are and then submit that to the AFL for our fixture request/considerations.
  15. Because we're not a big club. Collingwood play their home games against interstate teams during the afternoon. Why are we playing them during the most poorly attended time slots (Saturday and Thursday nights)?
  16. I'm absolutely convinced that the club is pushing these night games against interstate teams. Something doesn't smell right that we have the most FTA games this season.
  17. Listening to Morris’ comments, if it’s not the coaches, then it must be Richo, Lamb and Pert, right?
  18. Please post more often. This is the reality check a lot of posters on here need.
  19. Moving to Marvel won’t solve a thing. We would have had 15k if it was there. As I said in an earlier post, the whole problem is the time slots for these interstate games. Not even Collingwood plays interstate teams at home on a Saturday night. They play all of them in an afternoon slot. I suspect the club has something to do with these night game schedules and we need to abandon them asap. We had 32k against the Eagles on a Sunday afternoon. It would have been 25k if it was a Saturday night. Pert needs to lobby for us to have all our home games against interstate teams to be an afternoon slot next year.
  20. Probably the second most important position at a club behind the head coach. Very good appt from the Hawks.
  21. Love them. Let’s go under the radar. The Hawks have barely played a free to air game this year and a drawing massive crowds with how well they are playing.
  22. I’d argue the game plan going in was very good and I think Goody has always been strong in this area. Where he falls down is his match day coaching which we’ve seen on numerous occasions and is why he has a poor record against experienced coaches such as Scott and Longmire who are brilliant with in game moves. Last night was a good example of some poor in-game coaching decisions such as JvR being subbed off, and moving Clarry to halfback which cost 2 goals.
  23. Real chance that the Saints will overtake us this season which will be good to move up in the draft. I think we’ll finish the season with 6 straight losses.
  24. Just FYI we’ve now got the 5th worst percentage for this season from hell. Can’t wait for this club review which is now rumoured for the whole FD including Richo.
