I worry that we really struggle to play the Dome. We seem to struggle on the smaller ground especally moving the ball out of defence. When was it we last won there? And (because I am to lazy to look it up) how many games do we have there this year?

I think it is a typical Eddie/Sheedy comment to generate back pages in Sydney Morning Herald and talk on the radio in Sydney to get GWS in the headlines. Further Sheedy would love the Us V Them bloody Victorians attitude in the western Suburbs and Eddie would like another rivalry. Two old hacks playing with the media I reckon. Typical bollocks that happens when there is no footy to talk about.

Agreed Grandson, For my 2 cents whatever that’s worth. The more fuel we put on this fire in here, the more the flames will be flared but gutter media hacks that use footy forums as source for their innuendo and trashy stories. Worst thing we can do is turn this apprehension we all feel into any fuel for these hacks or worst, in the form of a personal address (sledge from our safe seats in the outer) to Tom, the coaching staff, players or people associated with the MFC. I don’t think a constant badgering of Tom on his contract status will make him want to stay in/at Melbourne. I don’t think fans accusing him of signing with GWS would make him feel welcome/wanted. How would you feel if you saw any fan in red and blue called Tom a Judas or chasing the money on word of eddies tom tom’s? I personally would be ashamed and embarrassed. I believe we need to show Tom that we are the greatest/most knowledgeable footy fans in the comp and convince him through our support that Melbourne FC history/culture/playing group is the place to be for the next 10-15 years. Thats my 2 cents. I really can’t wait until we have some real footy to talk about.

Just go with Crazy Kev for a little while on this.... Who at the dees would suit a fast 11 a side game. Most likely elite runners like Scully, Morton, Jones, Trengove Guys with speed to burn Davey, Bail, Bennell, Jetta even watts Players that can play a variety of positions like Green, Dunn, Garland Freaks Syliva and Jurrah (would be hard to beat one on one in the square) You would have to also try and include Frawley and Grimes somewhere I wouldn’t know where to start picking an 11 man side. I haven’t put much thought into this but the greater demonland brains trust I am sure could pick a pretty good side.
