  1. Was picked up along with Hogan and wasn't expected to lay many games with Melbourne this year. Though I thought Melbourne did the right thing this year and let him develop at Casey all year to experience the big bodies and tempo of senior footy. And I have to admit Barry didn't disappoint. He showed great skill and pace and link up through the midfield. Has great endurance, quick, skillful, touch of class and could really compliment guys like Viney and Jones on the outside in years to come. Though very outside and skinny he will have to put on some bulk to give him that extra confidence and strength. If he can play 6-10 games next year it will be a good year for Barry. Can see him becoming a good player for the MFC but im not expecting him to set the world on fire just looking forward to seeing him develop and add some run and carry to our lineup. Height: 184cm Weight: 70kg Games: 0 Goals: 0 Barry also managed to play 14 games with the Casey Scorpions Seniors and also kick 3 goals. He also managed to play 3 development games as well booting the one goal.
  2. Saw this on Norths Bigfooty's page. Was a big page but was mostly about Noth. I only put down the key points that I thought would be interesting. heard from a reliable source a number of things today: -Greenwood has spoken to Melbourne and Adelaide about potential trade - We have spoken to Matt Buntine and Dom Tyson from GWS. Stayed in constant contact since their draft years. -Gysberts gone too. Club not happy with his attitude towards training. Happy to put in the hards yards on the track, not happy to put in the hard years in the gym. Im not surprised that we have talked to him. Is a ball winner and tough nut. I hope we also have spoken to Buntine and Dom Tyson. Both good young players that have had injuries setbacks. And Gysbert doesn't surprise me at all. I still laugh at some on here who wants him back because what he did at Melbourne is exactly what he did at North and its obvious doesn't want to put in the hard yards!
  3. Well said. He was absolutely pumped when he found out he was going to be coached by Roos. I mean who wouldn't!?
  4. Mitch Hallahan and Shane Savage from the Hawks. Viv Michie from freo. Jordan Shroder and George Horlin Smith from Geelong Anyone think of any?
  5. Im not familier with the whole cap systerm Stinga can you explain what that means?
  6. Good to see Paul Roos there
  7. I know what a positive influence he can have on our young players and older players with his ultra dedication to hard work and his actions on the training track and gameday. One of the fittest players in the afl so no better Role models for Viney, Toumpas, Barry, Kent, MJones to show them what it takes to become a top line AFL player and how hard and how much sacrifice you have to go to the next level.
  8. Id have Petterd back. Is true he too had a disagreement with Neeld last year? Martin im happy is gone. Gysberts i thought was going to come back and bite us but glad im proved wrong. Morton im not real fussed about. Bennell been upgraded to the main list which i thought was weird considering they didnt have a coach to make that decision. Whats his WAFL form been like? Happy Beamer is gone. Rivers will be lucky to be given a go next year. He looked absolutely shot this year. All in all not too bad at all. Like i said only Petterd i would have back.
  9. People whinging about not giving us the pick need to harden the F up a bit. The AFL.are right we are not as bad as people make out to be. A Fully fit Clark and Dawes plus Hogan will be a MASSIVE bonus. Pick 2 on Swallow or Sharenberg pick 20 on Crouch or Dunstan if he slips. Add Daniel Cross plus a Viv Michie or Taylor Adams through PSD then things look very impressive! This on top of a fully fit Trengove, Viney and Toumpas with solid Pre Season base behind them Mat Jones and Dean Terlich to back up their impressive season and even Dom Barry to play 5-7 games. Screw the AFL we have ourselfs to blame and no one else. Port didnt get help and look where they are now. We should look to them as inspiration. They got there board leaders right plus a new coach and fresh young talent. Not saying we will do the same and go deep in the finals but expect a MASSIVE improvement on field next year.
  10. Yeah true. Was hoping we could snare a first round pick. Gives us a good reason to trade pick 2. Im starting to believe we might aswell just save pick 2.
  11. Id be more looking at Craig Bird. Tough inside mid who got subbed out on the weekend which i thought was bit strange.
  12. Officially no deal. Time to close this thread.
  13. When Thorp trained with us at the end of 08 or 09 i would have taken him back then considering we had no tall forwards. And from what i understand since he was delisted he has really matured.
  14. Very interesting and damning stats. Was also thinking about how our inexperienced our Coaching group was and if that actually impacts on the players. Here is our panel so far, and lets not forget we still got more coaches to come! Paul Roos 356 games Ben Matthews 198 games Jade Rawlings 148 games Brett Allison 228 games Brad Miller 157 games. That's 1087 games worth of AFL experience so far wit more to come. Looks much better doesn't it!
  15. I remember when he started he had problems trying to curb his aggression. He was a very fiesty forward!
  16. What was the full story there?
  17. Some of you lot are funny.. Was a very highly regarded for his outstanding leadership skills and was close to being our captain at one stage. When he talks everyone sits up and listerns. People follow him and its a credit to himself that he got to play 150 games in AFL. Through sheer dedication and determination you will see it rub on to players like Hogan and Howe and even Watts. Paul Roos is also a big fan of Miller. He was chased really hard in 05 and 06 by the swans so clearly Roos sees something in him. Welcome back Brad.
  18. A dedicated and ultra professional young players driving standards in years to come.
  19. Look daniel im sure if we are interested we will pick you up Thanks for the heads up good luck in the draft.
  20. Had a brief chat to Chris Newman at the Ovens and Murray grand final. Lets just he and many Richmond players aren't fond with him and are happy for him to leave. This whole thing about being welcomed back at the club is being blown out by the media. Saw Daniel Cross there presenting the cup but didnt get the chance to chat.
  21. Give me a 600k pay rise and il pay. But for now. No chance.
  22. I see Cale Morton only had 15 disposals? Im still very surprised the Eagles havent delisted him yet. For a bloke fighting for his career his WAFL form has been a bit poor this year. Only got games for West Coast due to injuries.
