Trengove himself has admitted that it effected his performance. Its really not that hard to figure it out aswell CB.. a 20 year year given a big responsibility on top of Jim Stynes death then heated media scrutiny for two years tanking, poor form, coach sacking etc... With all the [censored] that went on it would have mentally affected his performance. He wasn't experienced enough or even taught how to handle the pressure that this club copped in what was one of Melbournes darkest period in its history.

I remember thinking at the time we struck absolute Gold with Trengove because I thought he was a clear number 1 draft pick ahead of Scully. His first two years had us salivating at the thought of a future star on our hands. I dont know what happened after that but I think one obvious why his form halted was because of the captaincy. He was just way too young. I also reckon he tried to play through injury aswell. He just lost the power and speed off the mark. I really he comes back fit and firing next year because he showed traits of a seriously gun midfielder. If Roos can turn Pedersen, Bail and and Mark Jamars career around I have full faith he can do the exact same to Trenners

So whats the point in having Bomber Stuie? Just remember Bomber has always been about attacking where Roos is about defensive. Having 3 changes in senior coach in a spacs of 4 years is overloading the players especially with both with different side of game plans.

No way too much coaching change. Just keep it simple, do the succession and back him in whoever it is.

Tell me why they wouldn't be autocol.. The main reason would be also that Mark Williams coached him in his first year aswell. Most of the time its always handy where there have been connections along the line. Its makes a big difference.In saying that we have Dom who could work as a handy recruiter for us.

Shiel is dating Mark Williams daughter so dont be surprised if the tigers make a big play for him.

Brett Kirk is in his 2nd year of assistant coaching. So he already has the nod over Ling there. Give him two more years under Paul Roos and that would mean 4 years of solid learning from two of the coaching greats in the game.
