  1. Just a little story on Harmes I just wanna share a story on how quality of a person this young kid is. 'Chomp' comes up to Yarra every summer and this year he spent new years there. Old man is a taxi driver so they got talking about footy and without harms mentioning anything about being an AFL player dad said he barracked for the Dees, when in turn James mentioned he was a rookie list player. Dad being a passionate supporter was pumped and they got talking for a while about footy etc.. When dad had to drop him off he managed to get a selfie with Chomp and he turned around and offered his support to my younger brother who is playing for under 15s Vic Country this year by giving dad his number! Chomp then offered to ring me little brother and say g'day to which he was little star struck given he is only 14 years old.. Harmes offered some handy advise and tips and wished him all the best. Dad said he was by far the best 18 year old he has dealt with being such a mature kid for his age and the way he has gone out of his way to keep in touch with my little brother. There was no arrogance or cockiness just a down to earth kid who was just as pumped to meet another demon supporter. Dad sent an email to the footy club complimenting on what a terrific young kid he was and the way he had gone out his way to do what he has done for my little brother. Dad mentioned that he wanted this email to go straight to Paul Roos and Peter Jackson. Dads already promised him free taxi rides Lol Against Sydney this year Chomp got free tickets for my family and even a chance to get them into the rooms. My family have now become good friends with James and when I rang my dad before, him and my little brother were fist pumping and shouting with excitement. So the Harmes selection is a bit closer to heart then usual. The kid is a ripper and I am absolutely stoked for Harmesy to be living his dream because I know for a fact just how hard he has had to work for it and what he has gone through. Good luck Chomp!!
  2. Great selections! My tip either Vandenberg or Harmes will be the sub.
  3. This isn't topic related... but surely you must get annoyed typing your username everytime you log in??Love it
  4. Tom Couch was another beauty. Got promoted at the start of the year and didn't debut until the middle of the year after about 7 BOGs in a row performance at VFL level.
  5. FK yeah! Love this kid i reckon he is an absolute machine! I remember against the bullies game his physical presence was huge! Was Josh Kennedy/Nat Fyfe like in the way he impacted the contests. Well done Vanders.
  6. Jack doesn't play like a traditional tall he plays like a midfielder. He has speed and class. Jack was also out of form as he has pointed out by dropping himself. Since he has come he is playing like a completely different player, winning the hard ball, chasing, tackling etc. He is in super form. Leave him in the side.
  7. So you would drop a guy who is been playing in the midfield and in career best form.. right. That will do his confidence well. Btw they are two completely different players. You only drop in a 2nd ruckman because you want to bring in more run and spread. Spencer who has been our 2nd ruckman is lumbering and slow. It is also too top heavy especially if its going to rain. It will slow us down big time. You do NOT drop Watts because what he does provide is run and spread and to finish off is his class and skill level. Just because he didn't adjust to the wet weather in the past doesn't mean you get gun shy and drop him straight away. I am backing Watts to come out and have another blinder. His confidence is up and running keep playing him and tell him to take the game on. Seriously bizarre that people want him dropped. And who do we replace him with? Terlich? Mckenzie!??
  8. Im not sure they don't do that stuff anymore.. Think they just get someone from within the club to present the jumper. Which is actually bit of a shame.
  9. Jeez are people [censored] for real!? Watts has arguably had his best 4 games of his career and people want him dropped because of a little bit of rain? FMD wake up people seriously the guy is one of our most classiest and best ball user along with Vince and theres no better hands to have the ball in when its wet then these guys. Also last i looked footy is played outdoors. Some posters do make me laugh! I have been Watts biggest critic but he has been awsome the last couple of weeks.
  10. Currently doing part time development work with the under 16s Murray Bushrangers and i am bias here but Josh Schache would be your man.Massive endurance and uses it well. If it one player who i would compare him to its Travis Cloke but with a much deadly kick! He slots them from anywhere. Big lump of a lad and if the opportunity to pick him we would be Crazy not to select him. A Hogan/Schache combo would be an absolute jizz fest.
  11. Good.It also shows that the club will go with Gawn as the number 1 ruck this week... i hope
  12. Sorry Jumbo i had to have a little laugh at this.Anyways fair to say Jeffy has been a massive bargain for us considering the set of butter knives we gave Carlton lol. Our leading goal kicker and seems like he is really enjoying his footy and getting the balance right off field. Credit to Paul Roos for taking the risk on Garlett and showing huge faith in him because its paying off so far. Could be on his way to a 40 goals this year.
  13. If we make finals i will drink a slab of Guiness in front of everyone on here.
  14. Notice on the MFC website they have a poll going on whos the best player out of the two. If i was new to AFL and i saw those highlights for the first id say Roosy has him covered by a long shot. I never got to see Roosy play so can someone what he actually explain what type of player he was and who would you compare him in todays game. Cheers.
  15. Ok heres my idea. How about we trade you off to bomberblitz for a bag of spuds. Haha in all serious i knew you couldn't handle yourself. You start a thread of complimenting how well he played against St Kilda and you mentioned you were willing to give him time. I said to you will be straight off the wagon once he puts in a poor game. I knew you couldn't keep to your word. [censored] nuffy.
  16. He was also averaging 27 disposals this year before injury. Thats more then any player on our list. If we picked him up Nathan Jones would be the happiest man in the world. He would take a huge work load off his shoulders and more attention and tagging would go into prestia.
