  1. It's all guesswork to be honest. We're exactly one month away from the draft and there is no way we'd have a player locked in. We'd have a list of about 6-10 names we'd be interested I with pick 5,and then probably another 10-12 names around the mark for pick 9. Even 24 hour prior to the draft clubs will have last minute change of mind on players as well. I am sure we have interest in Armstrong, but there would be 10 other names we'd be interested in as well.
  2. Welcome back Kyah Farris-White.
  3. From the Age. Melbourne Arrivals: Tom Campbell (free agency), Harry Sharp (trade) Departures: Angus Brayshaw (retired), Ben Brown (retired), Kyah Farris-White (delisted), Lachie Hunter (retired), Alex Neal-Bullen (trade), Josh Schache (delisted), Adam Tomlinson (delisted) Draft picks: 5, 9 Uncontracted: Marty Hore, Joel Smith Contracted: 37 (no category B rookies) The Demons addressed needs in the player movement period, adding ruck depth (Campbell) behind Max Gawn before trading for Sharp, who will get the chance to replace Neal-Bullen in attack. They have two first-round picks, as they did last year with Caleb Windsor and Koltyn Tholstrup, and will make three selections overall. Melbourne may not place a bid on Essendon’s NGA prospect Isaac Kako after trading for the Bombers’ pick nine. Midfielders Harvey Langford, Sid Draper and Josh Smillie could get through to their first selection, while key forward Harry Armstrong, defenders Alix Tauru and Luke Trainor, and classy midfielder Xavier Lindsay might be in the mix at their second pick. Hore will score another one-year deal, but Smith will be delisted. Judd McVee will be upgraded to the primary list, and Andy Moniz-Wakefield can no longer be a category B rookie.

  5. Love it.. Looks like a good old fashion fullback who loves the hard stuff.
  6. Personally I don't think we're in a position to take a developing tall so early in the draft. My understanding is that our draft motive is to bring in players that will be ready to step straight into senior footy next year and I cannot see that with Armstrong. What I see in Armstrong is another Sam Weideman. HA lacks the intensity and defensive efforts as a key forward and can come across as laconic at times. He's not a big possession winner and has been lucky playing in such a successful side as the Sandy Dragons. He's not a solid contested mark as it's been made out too. He tends to double grabs and can sometimes drop the easy one that key forward should just swallow up with ease. If you can't do this at junior level it's very hard to translate to AFL level I take Matthew Lloyd's comment with a grain of salt. He said the same thing about Weideman in his draft year being the academy coach at the time. If I'm picking a key forward, I'd easily take Jobe Shanahan over HA by a fair stretch.
  7. Do not rate him at all. Would be a genuine mistake wasiting pick 5 on an average tall forward. Both our picks should be purely focused on getting elite mids in.
  8. Yeah another we have spoken to as well. Unfortunately I think he gets taken way before our 3rd pick. One player I know for a fact that we have strong interest in and should be available at this pick is Tye Hourigan from Traralgon. Genuine country footy star who's very similar to Tom Stewart.
  9. There is no way this kid is born in 2006.... [censored] looks 35!
  10. I can't find anything that explains he's been upgraded to the main list?? So does that mean AMW can still remain because he's played less then 10 games?? Ahhhh too confusing 😕
  11. Bit like AMW, I think McVee can still stay on the rookie list for a 4th year with the new changes in place?
  12. Pretty sure AMW can now stay for 4 years with the new changes?
  13. Beauty.. thanks mate.
  14. Any news on Joel Smith??
  15. I reckon the kid is a gun and I rate highly. Apparently is a bit of a professional with the way he conducts himself with his training standards. I would like to see him get more of a go next year and maybe attempt to cement his spot with the ANB position.
  16. You do realise Echuca to Shepparton is only a 50 minute drive right? There are hundreds of people that commute to and from for work, kids that travel to each for school and then there are country footballers that are based in Shepp who play footy in Echuca and vice versa. You're making out that it's a few hours drive from each other and that people don't communicate with others from different town. Couldn't be more further from the truth, especially country town all close ro vicinity as your mum would know. Your personal connection is no different to mine. Your mum works with his mother. The guy I spoke to is a close friend of Steve but also golfing buddy also At the end of the day I am only passing on info as you are and I certainly don't doubt the information being provided.
  17. Would be a super outcome for us.
  18. Lol nah.. didn't get called out at all bro. If that's what been called out looks like to you then you're completely off the mark 😅 Have another go.
  19. Go back and read properly. This was prior to the Pert sourcing our trade talk they were happy with the club support around Oliver especially dating back to last year when he went off the rails and Goodwin gave him some tough love but also wrapped his full support around him. So of course Clayton and his family were completely blind sided and were pretty disappointed with how it all played out and still are. Can i just remind you that this all comes back on Gary Perts decision to bypass the likes of Green, Goodwin and Clayton's management which had caused tensions internally. I'll be incredibly shocked if Pert is with us come round 1 next year. That part is based off my own personal opinion and nothing else.
  20. Reckon he's upside is enormous. He's got Will Day like traits that I think under a professional environment he could explode in a few years time. That or he just becomes another Jayden Hunt.
  21. I know they love the footy club. I've bumped into them from time to time and have known then since Oliver's under 18's days. They have nothing but love for the footy club. And good on her saying that, but if the old man is saying otherwise then it's up people to choose what they want to believe. Simply passing on what's been said.
