  1. Sorry just been chopping the onions.. Awesome video and well done to Oskar and his family. This is the start of a journey for young Baker and can see him having a solid career for the Melbourne Football Club. His old man is a dead ringer to the great Dean Bailey.
  2. A real chance Lever could slot straight into the seniors this week against gws https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/teams/melbourne/melbourne-may-have-to-consider-a-shock-callup-for-jake-lever-after-only-one-game-back-in-the-vfl/news-story/b84afd7c21df7b28baed019bb267e65a
  3. Yep let's soley focus on targeting one player only.. not forgetting the likes of Kelly, Tarranto, Cameron, Greene will completely run a muk because we'll be too busy trying to "Byron Pickett" him too sleep. FMD
  4. Maybe if Goodwin actually played him in his natural position as a high half forward/wing we wouldnt be having this debate. Fritsch is so badly put of his depth down back due to his poor one on one work and lack of awarness. I counted at least 4 of his turn overs which resulted in direct goals to West Coast. Watch his game last year against St Kilda where he played as the floating half forward role and played it extremely well.
  5. We are not exactly in a position to lose player for 1 ot 2 weeks max. Im sure if you ask Gawn, he would say the exact same thing.
  6. Love to see a forward line of Mitch Hannan and Jayden Hunt zipping around.
  7. Zac Williams has done a hammy for GWS.
  8. Bedford had a good patch in the 2rd qtr where he cracked in and showed some real speed and evasiveness. But yes do see where you're coming from. Going to give them the benefit of doubt that when we start to get senior players back into our Casey team from injures, we might start to see a bit more of a rounded performance as they'll know their teammates better then half these VFL guys that are making up majority of our team.
  9. You do realise ANB plays a high half forward role that requires gut running workrate to work up and down the ground. Maynard is completely different type of player who is an inside mid who is slow and has poor skills. I watched him in the VFL today and he will be delisted at years end.
  10. Sparrow: Really just didn't stand out for me. Get in and has a crack but has no hurt factor. Pruess: he was our best player for the day behind Wagner. Controlled the ruck but our mids didn't make the most of his silver service. Umpires had it in for him all day. Lever: started like a house on fire when he came on in the first qtr but was quiet for the resy of the game. Coaches would have just been thrilled that he actually got through hos first game. Will get better with more game time next week. Chandler: Barely noticed him. Kicked a ripping goal though. Bedford: flashes in and out. Development year for him. Good to see him hit the scoreboard at least. That will get his confidence up and going. Jordan: like Bedford its a development year for him. Barely noticed him except when he turned it over in the 3rd qtr. Maynard: Does what he needs to at this level. But he will be delisted at years end. Just doesnt havent enough tricks to take that to AFL level. Good on him though for sticking up for Chandler when he got stomped on! Wagner: Liked his game, has a good burst of speed from stoppages and was clean throughout the day. Expect him to play next week if ANB doesn't come up from that concussion. Casey have some very ordinary VFL players. White, Munro, Dipasqual, Briggs Quigley, Stockdale are just example of the gap between ours and Port Melbournes. Mitch White as captain is puzzling.. Lafua is a very interesting prospect though. Love the look of him.
  11. Max didn't have an issue with what Vardy did. A bit has been made of Nathan Vardy’s reaction after that mark. I don’t have a problem with it, but I would like to set the record straight on one thing — I didn’t say anything to Vardy until that moment. Not a single word.
  12. Id peg him for Adelaide or Collingwood for a return game.
  13. Jesus christ.. what has this world coming to when this muppet is giving out 1970s life advice on how to be tough. Oscar and Hore pushed Vardy away while most of their teammates were already up on the CHF area and were probably too far to even see it. It was our captain in Nathan Jones who ran in and actually remonstrated with Vardy. Vardy is a grub yes but the jumper grabbing and huffing and puffing would have made no difference at all.
  14. 1st game in 12 months and on limited game time. Got through the game which is a huge step forward for him and our side.
  15. Casey's problem is that they have so many ordinary VFL players in general lead by Munro who is horrible.
  16. Pruess is getting [censored] over big time by these umps! Some absolute horrible decisions going against us. Chandler got stomped on in front of the ump yet no free kick!
  17. Finished watching the 1st half. Umpiring is absolutely deplorable! Must be the same ones from last night. Pruess is BOG so far for me. Controlling the ruck and also dominating around the ground. Lever came on and immediately made an impact by taking a huge intercept mark. Only just the 1 disposal in the 2nd qtr, but he'll be enjoying just getting out there and having a run. Munro is a an idiot! Chandle kicked to him 30m out in front and the [censored] decided to try and play on around his fan and completely [censored] it up. That completely changed the momentum towards port favour. Wagner has been good also providing run and been clearn around the contest. Sparrow looks like he is doing a tagging job on Lang i think it is?
  18. I think Jones actually ran in and got inyo Vardy?
  19. I am a big fan of Petty and have been calling for him to come into the side earlier on. He is just someone where you just need to get games into. He showed glimpse of his strong intercepting marking and uses the ball extremely well. Once he starts to get some experince and comfortable at this level he will start to go for his marks instead of punching it like he did in the third when he could have just taken an uncontested mark. He'll play again next week.
  20. Watching the replay right now and Tim Smith played a very valuable role on McGovern. Not only that, he provided a lead up target through CHF which opened up the space for McDonald and Hunt to roam in and out. But also got onto some really good lead up grabs and dish to our running players. Pity anout the concussion. I hope he is okay for next week because i feel like he give him a good string of games and ge could play an important role.
  21. Lets get a bit of perspective here. May Lever Hibberd Melksham Vandenberg Hannan Joel Smith Jetta Lewis KK These are names who i regard as best 22 when up and firing. We win last night with these blokes running around in our side.

% will be our biggest issue.
  23. The 2 games Pruess played, Maxy never rested forward at all.
  24. Pending concussions it seems like we got through with no injuries which is handy!
  25. The Liam Ryan mark is a result of Fritsch [censored] poor defending who just coasted behind him as Ryan floated from the flank all the way in. Fritsch is not a defenders [censored]! All we are doing is ruining his development. Its either up forward/wing or Casey for me.
