I will be in mourning when @kev martin goes on long service. By far the best training reports alongside @DeeSpencer as well. Just keep calling it as you see it boys.

Tom Green (Drafted by GWS Giants)

You're making far too much sense in here Axis. But you're hitting your head against a brick wall against some of this lot who have made a decision bases on a 3 minute highlight reel. I am Jackson fan and get the sense why our recruiters are heavily considering him at 3.

Tom Green (Drafted by GWS Giants)

He hasn't. Started playing ruckman then resting key forward later towards the year at Colts level and by all reports really drove his bargain up even more due to some of his potential he showed when playing up forward. I know @Pennant St Dee has a good eye for talent up the West. Were you able to see him live down at Colts level?

Young won't simply last to 8. Crows and Swans are hot on Young and will pounce if he is there.

		Splitting Draft Pick 3

GWS trading pick 6 and a future first for Adelaides pick 4.

		The Splitting of Pick 8

		I'd take 12 and 18 off Port.

		Hayden Young (Drafted by Fremantle)

Not at all RR. But I think it's well known now that it's between him and Young and Green to a degree. I genuinely bet we are still simmering over who to select with pick 3.

		Training - Monday 3rd December, 2018

I apologise that I brought this thread up. But this was the first pre season training session that we had the whole squad back in December 3rd 2018. Looking back we had an incredible 15 blokes in rehab. Compared to about 5 or 6 today? Also Steven May does look quite thick in some of the photos that were put in this thread. Compared to recent photos where he's looked really trimmed up now. Obvious that he's worked a lot harder on his fitness over the break.

What to do with what is now Pick 74?

Fraser Phillips from Gippsland Power who trained with the Dees at the start of the year is someone I'd like to really consider if he is still there. Talented left footer who brings X factor and someone who I think is very underrated in this year's crop.

		Hayden Young (Drafted by Fremantle)

He's coming to the club to start his career as a key forward. We have Weideman (still question marks over him) and McDonald as our two genuine key forwards. That's it. What happens if he has more success as a forward then being a ruckman?

		Hayden Young (Drafted by Fremantle)

Doubt it, Tom Green would be right in their sights. He is behind Rowell and Anderson in terms of talent, if not equal.

		Hayden Young (Drafted by Fremantle)

Exactly. The likes of Gould, Rivers and Sharp are all highly talented HBF's that can do just as a good job as of Young.

		Hayden Young (Drafted by Fremantle)

Have to back and trust our system. For every Jesse Hogan, there is a Cale Hooker, Andrew Swallow, Harry Taylor, Alex Rance, Lance Franklin and Stephen Congilio who have all come from WA and yet most likely will finish their careers with their clubs without going back to their native state. Go home factor does not scare me.

		Brodie Kemp (drafted by Carlton)

I don't think we split just to potentially target Kemp. We have a range of players that we are looking at pick 8, which Kemp is part of that list. As Jason Taylor said, you can't trade into a first a first round just to focus on that one particular player because at the end of the day they might not even be there at that pick. Swans are really looking hard at Kemp with pick 5 potentially if they bid on Green and GWS match the bid.

		Hayden Young (Drafted by Fremantle)

The other reason why I think we are leaning towards Jackson with this pick is a half back flanker who use the footy fine are easy to find. Marty Hore, Luke Ryan, Zac Williams Tom Stewart are just a few gems who were all half back flanker that were picked late in the draft. A player in the caliber of Brodie Grundy and Max Gawn are very rare to find. It's no coincidence that the past 3 years these two have dominated All Australian selection. Grundy and Gawn are in their own league. Tim English will be right up there in about 2 years time. Bring in Luke Jackson means we are set for another 10 years in our ruck department and we can focus on other holes on our list for the next few years.
