Surely he wont be named @Petraccattack.. i cannot physically or mentally see how the [censored] he can justify his place in the team.

Fast and skilful players with endurance

Thats some serious impressive highlights. -
I see nothing in Hore that screams he will make it. Poor decision if he is in the side.
-
He's been 'Trengoved'
-
Exactly the kind of player we need. Would play that wing/half forward role perfect with his speed and football smarts. But he's not an inside midfielder so we'll pass anyway.

Some on here are firing shots way too early. While he hasn't hit the scoreboard, he is still getting up the ground and making an impact. I watched him closely on the weekend and his work rate was top notch. It will take him to adjust to Freos game style, but i expect very soon to see him start hitting the scoreboard. He might not end up a big hulking forward he could kick 70 to 80 goals a year, but worse case is that he will be a Jack Gunstan type forward who will use his work rate to get up and down the ground and float across packs. We also forget that he is still only 24. Hasn't even hit the 100 game mark yet.

He is playing the role that we need Pruess to play. Sit at full forward, compete, crash packs and hit the scoreboard. But also give Gawn a much needed chop out.

I was thinking on ball. We are Really lacking that X factor and burst out of congestion.

Poor by Jay Clark. Experienced journo and cant even get the basics right.

Until we can confirmed facts that they are being overworked, at this stage i just feel it is a cop out. These guys are paid sporting professionals and should be versatile to change in training programs. Besides, training reports we have had on here is there hasn't been nothing out of the ordinary in terms of preparation or doing a heavy extra work load etc.
-
I honestly think thats the biggest cop out ever. Not a dig at you btw.
-
No, Not only is he out of form but he's rapidly declining in speed and his ball use has gone to absolute [censored]. His disposal average has dropped significantly from last year. He is like every other player that starts to hit that 30 year old mark. He has peaked and i cant see much improvement throughout this year.

Heading down the same path as what Bernie Vince last year. When is he out of contract?

Seems like Pruess is the likely inclusion for McDonald who is in serious doubt due to his ankle. Stretch was BOG for me and has been playing really well at Casey the past few weeks so he deserves to be rewarded. Id bring him in for ANB who is just a potato. But due to Goody's love affair for him i would not be surprised if its KK who makes his way out. He's done nothing and another who just looks completely underdone. Looks like Petty was taken off and rested for the 2nd half of yesterday's game. He could come in for Oscar. Frost wont get dropped as he will likely go to Franklin.

Box Hill Hawks v Casey Demons - VFL Round 1

In regards to Petty being injured, this was written in the VFL article. A positive was the team came away unscathed from the match with no injuries. https://m.melbournefc.com.au/news/2019-04-07/vfl-tough-start-to-2019-for-casey -
Box Hill Hawks v Casey Demons - VFL Round 1

Agree that some certain poster have just carried on their usual dribble. For those that didnt watch I'll do a player by player assessment. Baker: Played like a bloke thats missed a fair chunk of the pre season. Rusty and was quite throughout the game. Did a really good chase and tackle right in front of Casey's bench and got good applause. Other then that he didn't do much. Needed the run. Bedford: Looked lively at times and certainly shows zip in and around the contests. He's next stage of development is hitting the score board. Felt like he got himself into good position at times but was ignored. Work rate was impressive. Something to work with. Chandler: The highlight for me. Chased, harrassed and hit the scoreboard. Has a very impressive left foot that didn't miss a target. Keeps this form up and he'll be playing in the seniors sooner then you think. Smith: Playing just his 2nd game since his injury, and looked good at times. Lead hard and tried to create a target but was double teamed at times. His work rate is exceptional. Another who needed the run. Jordan: Played half back and was fairly quite. Sparrow: Like Jordan he was another who was quite. Had 11 disposals for the game and just flashed in and out. His contested marking is very impressive for someone of his size. Keilty: A poor game. Played forward and ruck and had little to no influence. His best position is down back not forward. Stretch: BOG for me! Came onto the game in the 2nd qtr and immediately had a big impact. First time i have seen him use some genuine speed to break away from the stoppages. Was clean and really ran hard. I would bring him in for ANB and leave him in the 1s for a good block of 6 weeks and see what he has to offer. Has to be picked against Sydney. Maynard: Look, it was your typical inside midfielders game. He is someone who will get you your 20 plus disposal but has no hurt factor and will get exposed for lack of leg speed. Strong around the contests and played well. Petty: Played the first two qtrs then didn't see him after half time.. anyone know what happened?? Garlett: His stats say that he had a quite game, but it was his first game back since JLT Richmond. In saying that i must admit Garlett was one i thought who tried hard. Was harrassing and pressuring right until the final siren. It was not a good day for forwards but unfortunately there were a couple of times the footy just didn't bounce the right way to suit him where he would have gotten a goal from if the footy just bounced kindly to him. I honestly thought his work rate was right up there, but needed that run and i am backing him to play well next week. -

Box Hill Hawks v Casey Demons - VFL Round 1

Bedford did a lot of unrewarded running and tackle and pressured amongst stoppages and also up forward. Just because he didnt kick goals doesn't mean he was varely sighted. -

Bedford named in the best.. But according to old mate werridee he was barely sighted. Think he needs a new job cutting oranges instead of randomly making team changes. -
He's just taking the [censored] now..

The big thing for me was the tackling numbers of both Chandler and Bedford. I think it will get to a stage where once the season is completely out of our reach, we will blood these two. Chandler especially was very very impressive with his smarts and composure with the footy. Bedford did a lot of unrewarded running and was ignored several times. But he showed zip and tackling pressure up field. Some promising signs from both. -
Got in fresh young talent who are playing with such extreme enthusiasm.
