  1. With Carlton announcing their coach now wonder if this now plays a huge part in Cerraโ€™s decision.
  2. Great little article on Jake by Riley Beveridge. https://www.afl.com.au/news/679588/bowey-and-his-bullet-the-six-game-dee-who-kicks-it-like-whitfield/amp?__twitter_impression=true
  3. I too don't mind this also. Weid is still only 23? So hes still fairly young and now coming into the peak of his career. He should take great inspiration from McDonald and Neal Bullen who were on the scrap heap and now have turned their careers around. There is certainly a chance for him to grab McDonald's spot next year. But that's up to Weideman. Goody gave him a good string of games this year to cement his spot but unfortunately for him he couldn't and I think the injury in the pre season really set him back.
  4. Some elite athletes just know when to flick on the switch come game day. Ed is obviously good at this and I think that's the extreme competitor that comes out of him. Chris Judd was exactly like this in his playing days. Ed strikes me as someone who has the perfect balance in his life in being able to switch off footy and focus on his photography and also his private life. I remember his interview with Ben Gibson he said he watches zero football because he's already consumed with it during the week with meetings and watching vision. He's a very impressive athlete is Ed.
  5. Set to stay. DEES FORWARD BACKFLIPS ON FUTURE MELBOURNE is poised to retain young forward Sam Weideman. Despite ongoing speculation that the talented 24-year-old would pursue opportunities elsewhere next season, AFL.com.au understands Weideman will commit his future to the club. Weideman is unlikely to line up in Melbourne's Toyota AFL Grand Final team for this Saturday night's decider against the Western Bulldogs, having fallen out of favour behind Ben Brown, Tom McDonald and Luke Jackson this year. Without concrete interest beyond those two teams, Weideman returned to negotiations with Melbourne and is expected to pen a new deal with the Demons before the Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period. A two-year contract would take Weideman through until the end of the 2023 season and into free agency, where he could potentially depart the Demons without having to negotiate a trade agreement.
  6. This. Gawn was fine but Brayshaw just kept talking over him and it was frustrating to watch. I haven't been big on the Gus and Gawn show really and the only 2 episodes I've watched in a few months was the Simon Goodwin interview and the Ed Langdon last night due to me being so intrigued with Langdon on a personality perspective. It's pretty obvious that Langdon is a an extremely private person and certainly keeps to himself. He's not big on comrade and the typical locker room banter. Certainly an introvert. I never understood the whole #positivelingers thing, but it was certainly interesting that he expressed that he hated it from the start.
  7. Interesting looking at the doggies board they're all filthy that Gardiner has been dropped instead of Cordy..
  8. Max Gawn just confirmed on AFL 360 that May and Spargo got through full training today.
  9. No way am I giving up two 1st round draft picks for Cerra.
  10. Interesting. What was wrong with what Lloyd said?
  11. Only thing that's giving me hope the fact he hasn't nominated yet.
  12. I was more certain Cerra would pick Melbourne more just wanting success but it sounds like he just wants to get back to Victoria regardless. When he said in an interview the other day that he wants Freo well compensated then I became less confident. Cerra to Carlton for pick 6 gets the deal done with no drama's at all.
  13. You've missed my point. Carlton will demand a top 10 pick. We have nothing remotely close to even matching that. Best option is potentially trading a player out. Jackson and Brayshaw have already been ruled out.
  14. Freo want a top 10 pick.
  15. Nah just Jack Viney pumping out a 400kg bench press.
  16. If you had asked me this time last week in regards to Cerra I would have said my hopes of getting him was at 95%. Just finding it extremely hard how to satisfy Freo especially Peter Bell being such a tight [censored]. Unfortunately we just don't have the capital to satisfy Freo. I'm a bigger fan more anyone then on Cerra. His under 18's year still sticks clear in my mind on how dominant he was. His Eastern Rangers coach Darren Bewick has been on record saying at the time that he can be as equal talented as Petracca who he also coached. Throw Cerra into our midfield mix next year and it's the best midfield combination in the competition.
  17. Really surprised Richmond aren't part of the discussion. I would have thought they needed some midfield depth coming through and also a replacement for Cotchin who'll be 32 next year. Haven't bothered to look at their draft hand but I am sure they have 3 first round draft picks?
  18. I said the same about Essendon's list last year and they made the finals this year. I've learnt not to completely write clubs off before they begin the new season. While Carlton were woeful at times this year they were still challenging for top 8 in the last 5 weeks of the season.
  19. Fair to say that Schwarz was the only one who flew the flag that day. Essendon bullied us and the Ox was the only one willing to dish it back. Unfortunately he didn't have many teammates that day.
  20. This coming from someone who absolutes hates Carlton to the bone. So it actually pains me to write all that.
  21. Cerra has pretty much openly stated that he just wants to get home to Victoria and also wants Freo compensated well. Choosing Carlton isn't exactly the worse case scenario. They've recruited a HIGHLY successful person in Brian Cook and it seems Voss is their man to coach. Their list isn't exactly bad as some are making out to be. You've got a 10 year key forward in Harry McKay you can build around and then Sam Walsh who's an absolute star in the making. Weitering also is a future All Australian full back and adding Cerra makes them extra competitive. They still need to add a few depth which they have already with Hewett who imo is a better pick up then Saad and Williams purely on the fact he's come from an extremely well drilled culture and we'll give them great two way running in their midfield. From our perspective I simply cannot see how we please a Fremantle due to their high demand. Jackson and Brayshaw are completely off limits so that just needs to be ruled out. If Cerra wants a smooth transition home then Cerra for Carltons pick 6 makes sense in a way.
  22. Could easily be waiting on Carlton coach?
  23. I've watched the Geelong prelim replay a few times just to kill time. Jack Viney getting absolutely stuck into Joel Selwood and Jack Henry is right up there as one of my favourite highlights of this finals series.
  24. Just a fantastic achievement. Well done Goody and thank you for bringing us so much joy to us in what's been an extremely dark year for all.
