  1. Green? He has nothing at all to do with the coaching side of things. He has failed in that department by being let go by 2 AFL clubs already. He's on the board level which I have huge concerns in itself. I don’t see why people get so angst about Goody having experienced people around. The way I look at it is the club have gone out and identified the best people in the business that they think will help the development of our players most importantly. Williams role will be to help develop our players. Yes he'll be able to assist Goody at times, but his main role will be player development. Its no different to what Brendan Bolton is at Hawthorn or Leppitsch at Richmond. I know people want to pot him just for the sake but jesus its getting old.
  2. Thanks Josh for all of your hard work over the years. Wishing you all the best in your new role at the Dons.
  3. Green was at St Kevin's and Holmes played school footy at Melbourne Grammar. No link at all.
  4. As someone that's had connections with Oliver in the past through the MB program and still having connections now, I can say hand on heart he was not a happy camper at all, and the Carlton talk was real. Carlton and his management had discussions but Melbourne knocked it on the head immediately and said in no certain term will he be traded at all. It was done and dusted there. Its okay to be disgruntled you know. For all we know maybe other clubs were asking the question in the background? What you might not see as evidence in the naked eye doesn't mean there's a whole lot going on in the background...
  5. Am also lead to believe that Mark Williams was also a serious contender for thr coaching job back in 2013, but eventually Roosy got the gig.
  6. https://7news.com.au/sport/afl/premiership-winning-coachs-afl-career-revived-with-crucial-new-job-c-1730657?fbclid=IwAR2rFnhKnczzzCW4nbsuZXXRDF3xFCJVwPTHcIjzqjHIvHaspvQwF25JNN8 “I am trying to improve everyone, whether it’s the oldest to the youngest players with the mindset of trying to be great and let’s go as far as we can,” Williams told reporters. “That means we are searching and hunting for premierships, there is no doubt about that. We are not just trying to improve, we want to be great.”
  7. Brad Green doesn't excite me one bit. The rest do.
  8. Via AFL.com Another player to watch will be Finlay Macrae, with the potential for the younger brother of Western Bulldogs star Jack to slide through to the later stages of the first round as Richmond and Melbourne track him closely with their top-20 picks.
  9. @olisik @Elegt
  10. Oliver's strong bond and relationship with Brendan McCartney is underestimate. It makes sense why he probably felt a bit disgruntled this year. Can see Williams working wonders for him.
  11. Hoky feck this is huge news. I rate him extremely highly and have a mate who plays at Werribee. Reckons he's one of the best coaches he's ever played under.
  12. I'm a big fan of Gulden. There's a lot of Tom Papley about with his x factor and arrogance.
  13. I don't think so. Would need to trade up.
  14. We'll bid on Errol Gulden, which imo Sydney won't match the bid. Gulden becomes a Demon with our first pick. Second pick will be used on Jack Carroll if available. Don't be surprised if we also place a bid on Blake Coleman if Sydney match the Gulden pick. It'll be still up in the air whether Brisbane match or not.
  15. He was a high end talent footballer right from a young age as @goodoil pointed out.... Its not like he was an athlete first who then turned to football in the last few years.. The difference with Holmes is that he so happened to be a very talented athlete in athletics, and it seems that this was a path he could potentially go down professionally if he decided that instead of footy. Bit like kids now days choosing between basketball and footy. He's always had footy in the background. There is no comparison really.
  16. The Blicavs comment was bizarre. I think someone reads too much phantom bigfooty drafts. I remember Holmes back in the the school boys day back in the under 15 level. He was small but he was still a well coordinated footballer who had strong athletic traits. I'm amazed how much he's grown. His style is similar to our very own Murray Bushranger lad in Dom Bedendo who is also hoping to get pick up on Wednesday.
  17. Great info. Well done Goodoil.
  18. Go and read the question I replied too. People are surprised he isn't being talked up. My answer is pretty much that would most likely mean that he is simply not rated potential to draft standard. It seems he's rookie at best.
  19. Maybe because he is not highly rated as some would like to think......
