  1. Cal Twomey said that he thinks he'll be playing at Melbourne next year and it will take our pick 7 and next years first as a starting point. I'll be absolutely mortified with the club if we part with pick 7 for a 28 year old half back flanker and next years first.
  2. That wasn't your original point. Both Mason Cox and Darcy Cameron are bigger lumps then Peter Wright and still got the job done in the grand final. You don't need to be quick or nimble to do what they were able to do. How you can say that Mason Cox is a better player and more efficient up forward then Peter Wright is laughable.. the stats say otherwise.
  3. So Darcy Cameron and Mason Cox who were Collingwoods main ruck/forward combination last year in their premiership year, are regarded as more athletic and quicker then Peter Wright? Interesting.
  4. His first year of playing AFL footy which was 2023 just to make it clear enough.
  5. Has played 16 games this year and has kicked 29.19 If you want to include last year, he's played a total of 36 VFL games and has kicked 52 goals in the two years he's played VFL.
  6. Fingers crossed this doesn't happen this off season.
  7. Yep agree. JVR has been on record saying that those AFL games in his first year gave him the insight into how hard he needed to work in the off season in terms of his strengths and fitness. Pretty much said that getting a feel for senior bodies is what set him up for a strong pre season in terms of knowing here he had to get to compete against the bigger bodies.
  8. This was an article from Fox dated May 2019
  9. His AFL and WAFL bio has him listed at 200cm. Trusting a wiki site is like like trusting a drug dealer managing your life savings.
  10. First I have heard of this..? Is there information or facts to back this up? I know there for a few off season surgeries, but having only 2 players complete pre season is a bit far fetched to me... Have to be corrected if you've got information that states this.
  11. One of the greats and a privilege to have witness during this era. His performance in finals and especially grand finals was ridiculous.
  12. He's kicked 31 goals for the year. On that form alone he would be sitting second on our goalkicking behind Fritsch.
  13. Be interesting to see what they do with Jake Melksham at the end of the year. You could mount a case to keep him on as depth and experience body, but then may decide to move him on to clear up some list space on our rookie list. Very interesting few weeks coming up. I believe he is wanting to go on for another year.
  14. I was certain he was going to retire this week to then find out by Sunday that he had converted to a Monk and was living in a cave somewhere in Mongolia. Genuinely would not have been surprised one bit if that actually happened lol.
  15. You really clutching at some straws here.. First of all, the Brayshaw one I get, unexpected retirement which obviously shakes the place up and comes at a time where from a list management perspective, you simply don't get the chance to fill the void. Smith isn't a big loss at all, he'll most likely be delisted this year and someone that continued to struggle with injuries.. makes sense in a way with his complete lack of professionalism. On Petracca, we still had a fully fit trac against the likes of West Coast and Fremantle and it made zero difference to us getting thumped. On the injuries front this year alone, Gawns missed 2 games this year, May had only missed one game prior to this rib injury on the weekend and Lever had missed 4. These are absolutely not long term injuries. This whole injuries excuse is getting tiresome. Brisbane lost Kiddy Coleman to an ACL at the start of the year and someone who was probably a Norm Smith winner had Brisbane gotten up in last year's grand final. Incredibly important across half back who just sets them up beautifully with his precise foot skills. They also lost Lincoln McCarthy to another ACL this year who is one of their hard working half forwards that's similar to ANB in terms of importance to the team. They've had their second best key defender in Jack Payne miss 7 games this year to injuries and then Will Ashcroft has missed half a year to a knee injury and looks like he hasn't missed a beat. What have they done? Made zero excuses and just got on with it. They've found soldiers to help fill the void and have even had to rely on 1st and 2nd year players as well. We haven't even been hit hard with injuries at all this year. Petracca is probably the only best 22 player that is out with a long term injury as it stands. We have zero depth because we failed to address and fill that void. That's absolutely on the whole coaching staff and recruitment team. That should not be an excuse when they clearly refused to address this in the off season especially around the ruck situation.
  16. Of course the one day I raise concerns around when he would sign his contract they... announce his contract signing 🙄 Great to have him on board!
  17. Paging @goodwindees...
  18. Lynch would be good but unfortunately he's very injury prone over the last few years. I liked what Gold Coast did a few years ago where they brought in Levi Gasboult as a bigger body to take the load off Ben King and Jack Lukosius and provide some valuable guidance and leadership. I don't know who's out there perhaps at the end of the year that we could look out but I think this is something we may need to go down the path with instead of spending big. Could that be Lynch? It would be a yes from me if he wasn't so injury prone.
  19. With three rounds left of the season, is anyone slightly concerned that Langdon still remains out of contract?
  20. I think that speaks more on champion data then it does with Houston... For instance, Champion data graded us as having the number one list in the entire competition at the start of 2019. I'm still very hesitant with splitting put pick6/7 for a a couple of pick in the teens. With Tasmania coming into the competition in a few years, we'll need to make sure we're continue to stock pile on talent and rebuild along the way. With Jason Taylor, you've got a potential 10-12 year player with our earlier pick.
  21. Pretty clear cut that @dees189227 states "I think" the club stuffed up not "the club stuffed up" as what you just made up. Clearly didn't read what he wrote and then proceeded to take an unnecessary swipe at him/her. Personally think we'll never see him back at the club in some capacity. It would be too much for him and I think he would just be happy to drift off into the sunset perhaps. He's in the cooperate business world which I hope that is something that will give him some peace and happiness at least. I wonder if they will retire the number 10 next yea You would think this number holds some huge significance now similar to the number 2 which JVR is proudly wearing.
