PREGAME: Rd 23 vs Hawthorn
As evident against Brisbane where he turned it over badly in our front half and gave Brisbane all that momentum to pile on 7 of the next 8 goals for Brisbane. I also think he's body language this year has been [censored] poor this year. The constant waving of arms and screaming at his teammates to give it to him when even he's not in a comfortable spot himself has been poor from his end. He did this to Kynan Brown who on the weekend who in fairness should have given the hands off, but instead of going up to him and patting him on the back he had his arms out and shook his head out of frustration. Didn't even go up to him and explain so which was disappointing. No coincidence that we haven't seen him since Brisbane and hopefully it stays that way.

The Soccer thread
Extremely proud. Sometimes you need to experience the heartache to then go on and experience the absolute highs. We'll get there.

There is an element where from a teammate perspective you definitely take in the significance of what a player's milestone especially when it's your skipper. You certainly build yourself up for it mentally know deep down you want to try that extra harder. Though when you're out there playing in the heat of the moment realistically you're pretty much treating it as another game. It's different with the buddy scenario because that's a send off game for a highly influential player of the game and then there's finals aspiration at stakes with the Swans. They'll 100% be going in mentally knowing that finals will be their top priority but also wanting to send buddy off on a good note and celebrate his career in fashion.

Well realistically you're not dropping anyone out while Gawn is rucking. But, he's a big solid lad who's got a decent leap on him. He'll benefit having a full pre season under his belt and I wouldn't be surprised if he breaks through for a couple of games next year purely because we'll either give Gawn a chop out of rest him if need. The fact that he's performed well against some pretty seasoned ruckman in the VFL comp will only hold him good stead going into next year. He's also got a pretty good mentor..- POSTGAME: Rd 22 vs Carlton

The Grundy forward experiment was a mistake by Goodwin. I got a feeling from his press conference upon reflection he knew it was a selection blunder. Getting Fritsch back will help enormously. You're getting your 2-3 goals per game off him so that will be a welcome return. We do need a bigger body next to JVR. Do we bite the bullet with McDonald even though he was underwhelming today.- CASEY: Rd 21 vs Carlton VFL
Pretty dour performance. Schache and McDonald were non existent. Tommo up forward? You know what, I'd be willing to give it a decent shot. Was drafted as a elite running CHF from his junior days. His tank and work ethic could come handy in blowing up defenders and he's fit and ready to go. Big bodied player who could be a handy foil for JVR.- Farewell Brodie Grundy
People were saying the exact same thing with Judd McVee, me including. A full pre season can do wonders for anyone.- Farewell Brodie Grundy
He's playing in a year where he's had to recover from significant injury and no fitness base. He's doing just fine.- CASEY: Rd 21 vs Carlton VFL
That was Kynan Brown not a random guy..
