  1. Did my ankle in a marking contest as a teenager and it was nasty. The feeling of your entire foot giving way is something I've never forgotten. 20 years later and it is still not right - I'd take a broken bone over it any day.
  2. Should never be placed back on it - stupidest decision by the football department of 2013 By christ have we missed a fearless hard-bodied inside mid. We actually had a serviceable midfield yesterday with Jones's and Magner doing the grunt work with Davey feeding off it
  3. As much as I don't like to add weight to the usual sack the coach threads I'm now ready to admit I am done with Neeld. He has failed. It's time to move on and move on immediately.
  4. Absolute friggin joke. How in the hell does Rodan get a game over Magner. Seriously WTF is going on with this place??
  5. If he doesn't get elevated, given the opportunity is there, then I am seriously losing faith in Neeld. We're playing the Suns this week, we need to win this one.
  6. Magner got the most amount of possessions on Sunday in the game against Port Melbourne Again.
  7. VFL Player review James Magner: Jimmy had 32 disposals, seven hard ball gets and six tackles. He again led the team around the stoppages and continually worked the ball out of congestion. His form has been very good. Just saying......
  8. Should be in the team right now. I agree that the decision to keep him there made good fiscal sense, but the fact of the matter is we suck. Badly, and we need a hardened clearance body like Magner to stem the bleeding. We will get murdered by the likes of Geelong, Hawks and Collingwood with their midfields and another 100+ point hiding is not good for rebuilding a team - irrespective of where it may or may not be at.
  9. You have a better suggestion than to keep playing the elite A-grade quality players we have out on the park at the moment? The guy is killing it in the magoos and i seem to remember he was pretty good in the centre before Neeld put him at half forward last year
  10. Leaving Magner on the rookie list, our strongest and hardest bodied player, knowing that Moloney was gone rates, for me, as one of the stupidest decisions by Neeld No wonder we get smashed in there every week.
  11. Check your browser if the second link doesn't work i.e get Google Chrome That may fix it for you
  12. Never mind I got it thanks to some Filth fan complaining about the same thing For the nerds Here is the link that the web site gives you http://www.afl.com.au/video/smart-replay/?ound=CD_R201301404&match=CD_M20130140407&eventType=Goal&seek=6032&videoQuality=high Here is the one that works: http://www.afl.com.au/video/smart-replay/?round=CD_R201301404&matchId=CD_M20130140407 Note the differences? Bloody amateur hour, lets hope the $500K donation we have to give them will buy them some people who can actually write and test software properly
  13. So now we can apparently watch replays on the AFL's smart TV link as opposed to Bigpond TV Problem is every time I click on the Demons Giants link it says I'm not accessing it from Australia??? Has anyone got a direct link to get around their crappy site?
  14. My uncle bought me a Demons jumper the day I was born and he would take me to games as a little kid. Dad was unimpressed as he supports the Saints but he was never into footy that much and my mum, who is a Demons supporter was more than supportive of my uncles efforts. I've learned to accept this difficult hand life has dealt me nowadays.
  15. I've surfed for 20 years and still get out at least once a week. Definitely the one thing that keeps me sane, everything you say is true, it combines exercise, adrenalin and a calm state of mind out on the water that completely revitalises you. One of my favorite surf spots is Big Left down at Flinders, I love it there, you're so far out in the water, surrounded by cliffs and the open ocean, no noise except for the waves, it's the best therapy you can have and the waves are pretty good too, especially when they are like the ones I rode last Saturday
  16. Bloody hell as if last year wasn't embarrassing enough now this....
  17. un·prec·e·dent·ed/ˌənˈpresəˌdəntid/ Adjective: Never done or known before. In other words Jon Ralph has got no idea
  18. He's just covering his own arse, Collingwood did it as well and you can bet, as a consequence, that they'll be worried the MFC, if penalised, will take it to court and drag the other clubs through the mud with them. There is the mother of all can of worms out there just waiting to be opened and we're just the tip of the ice-berg
  19. Yep agreed, Nothing will come of it in the end except maybe a little slap on the wrist as a face-saving measure by the AFL. It's a massive can of worms and we're not the only club involved either. They won't risk it.
  20. I am considering to offer myself as a sex slave to Mark Neeld. I love this man. I really do.
  21. It's all just a bit of brinkmanship, Viney will be a Demon, have no doubt. GC don't need another 18 year old mid-fielder, they're set in that department. We've got picks 3 and 4 and other than Viney we're not going for any more kiddies, they'll be used as bait to secure players from other clubs still under contract This Sounds like a very likely scenario. Pick 4 would be good bait to lure a player like Dawes as well
  22. Watching the Swans on Friday night I was awestruck by just how good this footy club is. They have hardness and determination in spades and an appetite for the contest that is utterly mental. They don't get ruffled by the mind games and they don't swallow the bait when teams try and goad their players. Except for Malceski maybe. I'd give my left nut for the MFC to have 1/10th of whatever it is they have But anyway on with the theory Being in an NRL city seems to have really rubbed off on them by certain stoppage tactics they employ. I noticed that in the packs one of their players would often hold the ball in close with one arm, duck their head and attempt to "tunnel" through opposition bodies. When they get through they stretch upwards and handball backwards over their heads or shoulders where time and time again, three Swans players would be waiting. One guy grabs the ball, the other two shephard which gives them that spli-second they need to clear it. They did this a lot against Collingwood and it was bloody effective. Other teams, notably ours, just try and knock it forwards or, (more often than not), panic, drop the ball, and just go to ground. We share facilities with the Storm, arguably one of the greatest NRL teams of the modern age, I'd be filthy if I found out the MFC was not trying to engage the Storm to learn these pack busting style techniques. Considering Neelds style of game we need to become like the Swans in this area.
