I often see Sylvia on Chapel Street Prahran , South Yarra , and Toorak (in daylight hours )
-
6 - Martin 5 - Rivers 4 - Green 3 - Sylvia 2 - Howe 1 - Petterd
-
Green - opportunistic forward's game Jones - his normal game Watts - had little involvement Gysberts - time for demotion Bate - deserves another game Bennell - limited game time Frawley - had little assistance Trengove- game to forget Sylvia - sublime and embarrassing McKenzie - tackling's not enough Dunn - not the worst Petterd - showed some class Maric - was the worst Garland - never looked comfortable Moloney - tried as always Rivers - reliable all day Martin - confidently attacked game Tapscott - little to commend Howe - some brief involvement Jamar - lost his momentum Strauss - the invisible defender Nicholson - looked completely overawed
-
I didn't need to be at the ground to see ' what the conditions were like ' , and I doubt ' the game plan ' constituted Morton constantly fumbling the ball or Gysberts regularly turning it over , whilst the 'coaching panel 'probably didn't instruct Watts to fail to handle the conditions well, or , for that matter , Martin ,Sylvia and Frawley to have crackers of a game. I just write them as I see them !

6 - Frawley 5 - Martin 4 - Petterd 3 - Sylvia 2 - Trengove 1 - Moloney
-
Green - always looked dangerous Jones - shut down role Watts - couldn't handle conditions Gysberts - some glaring turnovers Frawley - the perfect defender Trengove - creative and reliable Morton - tentative and fumbled Sylvia - classy all night McKenzie - just a game Petterd - our best forward Maric - opportunistic but limited Garland - safe all night Moloney - a creative playmaker Jurrah - took his chances Rivers - some trademark defense Scully - had limited impact Martin - showed his versality Tapscott - will be better Howe - had limited opportunity Jamar - had little impact Strauss - didn't evoke confidence Nicholson - backed himself detrimentally
-
6 - Watts 5 - McKenzie 4 - Trengove 3 - Rivers 2 - Petterd 1 - Frawley
-
Green - failed to inspire Jones - couldn't get going Watts - our only winner Gysberts - disappointing and lethargic Bennell - embarrassing and timid Frawley - great second half Trengove - tried so hard Morton - played without passion Sylvia - career worst game McKenzie - performed as expected Petterd - one great mark Garland - loose and careless Moloney - no armchair ride Jurrah - a huge disappointment Rivers - was always reliable Scully - had no influence Martin - not as effective Howe - some brief involvement Jamar - was untypically ineffective Blease - made no impact Strauss - not the worst Nicholson - tried but failed
-
John Ralph stated this morning on SEN that Cale Morton rejected an offer from Gold Coast last year to move for more money.
-
Because this was the most significant comment made by a significant person in the negotiations - it was more than just rumour and innuendo.
-
I'm sure I'll be abused for the Petterd comment , but I don't look at the statistics or replays before making my assessments
-
6 - Martin 5 - Watts 4 - Jones 3 - Moloney 2 - Rivers 1 - Frawley
-
Green - good first half Jones - great all day Watts - showed magic again Gysberts - quiet but important Bennell - mopped up well Frawley - loved his arrogance Trengove - there when needed Morton - didn't stand up Sylvia - some breathtaking passages McKenzie - the underpack master Petterd - had few involvements Garland - safe and secure Moloney - loved Jamar's return Jurrah - finally some magic Rivers - quality all day Macdonald - quiet before subbed Scully - prolific but wasteful Martin - was great again Howe - was rarely noticed Jamar - loved his palming Strauss - a little clumsy Nicholson - poised and effective
-
Green - stood up again Jones - a pleasing game Bartram - consecutive poor games Watts - the complete game Bennell - had little opportunity Frawley - enjoyed smaller opponents Trengove - not as productive Morton - improving with confidence Sylvia - classy all day McKenzie - fantastic in close Petterd - enjoyed more freedom Garland - steady until injured Moloney - hit packs running Jurrah - slowly finding touch Rivers - marshalled defence well Macdonald - tough and safe Scully - prolific and focused Martin - athletic and composed Gawn - some deft palming Strauss - was rarely noticed Nicholson - making his mark Howe - continues to impress
-
Green - unfortunately an embarrassment Jones - regular brain fades Bartram - game from hell Watts - 15 minute game Gysberts - no repeat performance Bennell - was rarely noticed Frawley - had no support Trengove - was surprisingly wayward Morton - composed and effective Sylvia - our only winner McKenzie - had no influence Moloney - prolific but ineffective Jurrah - tentative and lethargic Rivers - just too little McDonald - poor decision making Scully - prolific but wasteful Martin - couldn't get going Gawn - 2 years away Howe - never stopped trying Jetta - poor until injured Strauss - deserves more games Evans - had little opportunity
-
Green - captain stood up Jones - tough as concrete Watts - was classy everywhere Gysberts - will be nominated Bennell - enjoyed his dash Frawley - has been better Trengove - loved his return Morton - was surprisingly effective Sylvia - good before injury McKenzie - such great application Moloney - played with passion Jurrah - went through motions Rivers - outstanding all night MacDonald - tough and creative Scully - just a joy Martin - got us going Gawn - will be better Howe - fantastic debut performance Jetta - his best game Strauss - may silence knockers Nicholson - pace and poise Evans - enthusiasm and application
-
Possibly the youngest team ever to represent the MFC
-
6 - Sylvia 5 - Green 4 - Watts 3 - Rivers 2 - Martin 1 - McKenzie
-
Green - was a leader Warnock - just a plodder Jones - back to basics Watts - classy and improving Gysberts - rarely found ball Bate - not on field Bennell - wasn't actually playing Frawley - made fundamental errors Morton - probably on field Sylvia - only passionate player McKenzie - taught a lesson Petterd - didn't actually play Maric - had limited awareness Moloney - couldn't get going Jurrah - quickly losing credibility Rivers - solid all night MacDonald - aggressive but loose Martin - had little impact Jetta - rarely troubled scorers Newton - future no clearer Nicholson - showed some enthusiasm Evans - no heroics tonight
-
Green - an improved game Warnock - effective, occasionally cringeworthy Jones - overestimating actual ability Bartram - game to forget Watts - our best player Gysberts - prolific and effective Bate - had no effect Frawley - aggressive but beaten Sylvia - trying to inspire McKenzie - will be better Petterd - no second effort Maric - not enough tricks Moloney - was well held Jurrah - rarely appeared interested Rivers - was rarely sighted MacDonald - tough but limited Martin - gave his all Tapscott - was injured early Davey - couldn't elude tagger Jetta - little to enthuse Newton - sublime and ridiculous Evans - took game on
-
I was sitting close to the interchange bench and distinctly noted Garland nodding his head in a 'she's right ' manner when he returned from the dressing room after initial treatment
-
6 - Jones 5 - Martin 4 - Sylvia 3 - Davey 2 - Maric 1 - Warnock
-
Green - regularly turned over Warnock - solid all game Jones - aggressive and effective Bartram - taught a lesson Watts - ineffective and lethargic Gysberts - prolific but ineffective Bennell - nothing to commend Frawley - proactive but loose Sylvia - played with class Dunn - not a defender Petterd - had no influence Maric - 10 minute performance Garland - injury influenced output Moloney - tried but quiet Jurrah - 10 minute performance Wonaemirri - fat and ineffective Martin - courageous but limited Tapscott - was surprisingly quiet Davey - great from defence Jetta - failed his chance Bail - effective until injury Newton - gave some hope
-
6 - Moloney 5 - Jamar 4 - Jones 3 - Petterd 2 - Sylvia 1 - Frawley
