might be able to scavenge a pick in the late 40s but even that would be pushing it

I'll have a ping at our best side... B: Jetta - May - Lever HB: Hore - Petty - Harmes C Tomlinson - Viney - Langdon HF: Melksham - Weideman - Hannan FF: Fritsch - T.Mac - Elliott FOLL: Gawn - Petracca - Oliver INT: Ash (def) - Vandenberg (wing) - Salem (mid) - Brayshaw (mid) EMG: Hibberd - Lockhart - Jones - Preuss Have us drafting Ash at 3 and securing the 3 blokes we are linked to Tomlinson to relieve Max in the ruck
-
List changes who do we cut, trade or go after.

Maybe because we picked up Lever and May in the last 2 seasons who both are on $800k+? Not to mention Gawn is out of contract next season, as is Viney. You want to still be flexible -
I think we'll go with Petty down back next year with 2 KPFs (Weid and T-Mac) with Tomlinson to back up max
-
Lot of people here seem to think that the club has faith in O-Mac to fill Frost's void. I reckon Petty is the guy they rate who will fill that void R1 2020. Know the club rates him highly and was drafted as a KPD despite his success up forward in the back half of the year

We don't even have close to the money required to get Cameron so best to just stop talking about that now Aside from the 3 blokes we're heavily targeting (Langdon, tomlinson, Elliott), I like the idea of Dan Butler or Zac Langdon from the Giants -
Just re Ash, our back half has no speed. May, Lever, Jetta, Salem, Hore are all neat kicks but it's that run and carry which we really lack currently
-
I reckon Ash is the player for us

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ADAM TOMLINSON

Can't wait to bump this thread by mid-season -
If Browne says we’re leading the race then we definitely aren’t leading the race

A handy point Carlton and St Kilda respectively have come hard for Tomlinson while he's been contracted the last 3 seasons Both were willing to deal picks 8-12 from memory. He's a good player -
Please can we go for Betts. He’ll be an awesome pick up even at his age. Butler too. Our small forward cupboard is completely bare!

With the clean out in Adelaide - Seedsman?
DemonLad5 replied to Demon Forever's topic in Melbourne Demons
Eh Wouldn't be against it but not a priority -
Well we'd get nothing for him in that case Think Scully to Hawthorn value

Someone on Bigfooty said a source has told him that Tomlinson will be a Dee? Not sure who his source would be -

Would love Tomlinson on the opposing wing to Langdon. Running machine with good skills and we'd get him for free -
What should our midfield set-up be next season?

can we stop putting Viney in a forward pocket? He will never play there -
What should our midfield set-up be next season?

Also didn't include blokes like Stretch, JKH and Wagner as I'm fully expecting them to get the chop -
Adding to our long list of predicaments going into 2020 is the set-up of our midfield. Currently we have: Inside: Viney, Harmes, Oliver, Brayshaw, Jones, Sparrow Outside: Vandenberg, Kolodjashnij, Baker, Langdon?, Amon?, ANB, Potential draftee (Ash/Young/D.Stephens), Salem Blokes who can roll through: Petracca, Salem, Melksham, So what's our set-up going to look like next season? I think Petracca if he drops some weight should absolutely be a starting mid with his power and breakaway speed. Viney and Harmes both can play a lock-down role however Viney is the far less versatile of the two. Harmes was tried at half-back in the last game with mixed results Oliver is the best of the lot and I think he and Brayshaw must be in there I'd have Viney (tag), Petracca and Oliver on the ball, with Harmes at HBF and Gus on the bench rotating through. Langdon and Amon (if we get them) on the wings with AVB rotating

Small forwards - what are our trading and draft options?
DemonLad5 replied to Pates's topic in Melbourne Demons
In the last 2 years respectively we've arguably secured the two highest profile players to switch clubs (May and Lever). We were linked to Hill but he doesn't wanna play for us!! -
Definitely worth a look however he's good as the 2nd or 3rd small forward in a side that applies good forward pressure and chips in for a goal or two. Can't expect him to be our #1 small forward option

I remember thinking Lever was on of Adelaide's best in that Grand Final
-
Look at 3 of the top teams in the comp at the moment. Richmond, West Coast and Brisbane all set up with 3 talls (Bold = 2nd ruckman Bris: McInearny, McStay, Hipwood Rich: Reiwoldt, Lynch, Chol WC: Darling, Kennedy, Allen I think next season McDonald, Weideman and Petty should make up our forward line unless we recruit another tall

Damien Barrett's scathing assessment of the MFC
DemonLad5 replied to Bring-Back-Powell's topic in Melbourne Demons
This doesn't bode well, I'm anticipating a big name such as a Petracca or a Brayshaw to be requesting a trade Already have a bad sense about Hunt as well
