  1. Anyone who is capable of wanting roos to be sacked just think for a moment the state of the liat he inherited and then look at the transformation of the list thus far. You would be a fool to think roos has done a poor job
  2. I wont dispute the fact that melbourne should have chosen ollie wines, or macrae instead of him but at the time, if you can remember, toumpas was so highly rated many thoight gws would take him with pick two or three. So i dont think only melbourne could make such a decision I do think comparing toumpas to cale morton is quite premature
  3. Round 22 2013 agaisnt adelaide i remember thinking that toumpas could be something Even last week the way he applyed himself defensively when compared to his teammates was promising He has shown glimpses
  4. This thread is ridiculous. Give the kid a chance
  5. Dont give up on toumpas yet. Whilst he might not become the great player we all hoped for when we used pick 4 on him he still could develop into a really solid winger/half back. Hes only played 20 odd games, isnt it a bit early to write him off?
  6. “I'm not afraid of death; I just don't want to be there when it happens.” - Woody Allen
  7. These 5 players are the only 5 players I believe gave something that resembled effort. Pitiful 1. T Mac 2. C [Pedersen] 3. A Brayshaw 4. Garlett 5. Cross 6.
  8. Salem reminds me a lot of a young Luke Hodge, with his accurate left boot and the poise he has displayed thus far. Along with viney, petracca, brayshaw, Tyson and even toumpas (if he delivers on his pre-draft potential) we could have quite a special midfield in a few years time. Haven't even seen much of ANB and Stretch yet!
  9. Out: JKH , Pedersen JKH - doesnt kick enough goals to retain his position as a small forward who struggles to apply forward pressure. Will come good just needs time. Pedersen - Tries hard, can take a nice grab but is quite limited in his overall impact on games. IN: ANB , Jetta ANB - looked promosing in the VFL and i think deserves a shot in the seniors. (Barring a viney return) Jetta - hopefully hes ready to slot back into the back 6 Give spencer another week. Howe is on serious notice, but he needs to play seniors to retain any trade value i guess.
  10. I know a lot of people wont agree, but i actually felt toumpas played quite solidly for his first game back. In the second half when he wasnt playing a defensive role he managed to get a few touches and use it solidly. Dunn has gone backwards quite a fair bit this season. I think jkh and pederson may be the two outs next week if jetta and viney return
  11. 6 t mac 5 c salem 4 j hogan 3 j garlett 2 vince 1 n jones
  12. Gawn had 11 marks for the game, many of which were actually contested Youre correct that grimes tried hard all day, but I think he still has much to offer either to Melbourne or another afl club
  13. ANB certainly looks to be a future afl player. Michie could be a solid AFL player if he improves defensively. Fitzy and Gawn can't be forgotten just yet. Things arent 'that' bleak
  14. Jones and michie have both been solid, ANB looks promising. Riley and Grimes good in patches, unlike others i dont think gawns been that poor. bemused at how mckenzie managed a senior call up. Agree with those saying jamar looks disinterested, just watch his attempted snap for goal for evidence.
  15. 9 quarters won already! How does that compare to other teams in the league do you know?
  16. jetta to swap with toumpas at half back, and possibly even grimes to play as a defensive small forward in a similar role to the one Kent plays.
  17. Seriously? Hogans played three games, kicked 6 goals 4 behinds, and you already think he urgently needs to change his kicking technique?
  18. Have to keep playing watts, or else it will lessen his trade value
  19. 6 t Mac 5 Jones 4 jetta 3 vince 2 lumumba 1 Garland
  20. Yeah youre right, our inability to win it in close meant we were always chasing
  21. How can you think we lost due to "lack of midfield speed" when we were so clearly dominated in clearances, tackling and contested possession. In the 1st half we were positive in thes categories (except tackles) and as a result of playing tough, inside football our so called lack of speed was not exposed. Additionally last week we beat gold coast not through leg speed but the speed at which we moved the ball. This should be our focus along with gaining first possession, as we look to improve our consistency.
  22. ^^ What could we get for grimes? An early 2nd rounder, or a young player from a developing club?
