I hope you tuck it in like Zanks! She's a 🦄 in this regard 😁 Can you share the goss on James? (though I have enough children, thanks) -
So you missed doing it with some of the girls, too? It looked like fun, so double bummer for you. I hope the AFLW seasons get to boys' length PDQ, otherwise it's gonna be a looooong haul for you to 244!

And further for those who care (I suspect we're in an empty room, though, LDVC!) my PM'd response recognised this: "I realise that you are, in a general sense, correct, LDVC. Not trophy-worthy yet, but keep going...". Song titles, pretty much by definition, are going to use actual words (though not sure that will hold true for the genres under discussion in a couple of other threads atm! (apologies @WalkingCivilWar and others, whose interests and knowledge impress me no end 😊)) Anyway, credit where credit is due, and a Merit Badge speeds its way to you, LDVC. (p.s. Apologies for likely confusion in my earlier post, with references to Mazer and various drinks. I had conflated our PM convo with one I was having with Mazer at the same time. D'Oh!) -

And, at last, Reynolds46 has grabbed the bronze, with his two mitts. Well done to you, too, sir! (gender assumption based on his(?) Homer Simpson avatar). B: ToMorrow Never Knows Glass Onion Norwegian Wood H/B: Sun King Maxwell's Silver Hammer Fool On The Hill C: Strawberry Fields Forever Baby You're A Rich Man Long And Winding Road H/F: And Your Bird Can Sing Oh! Darling ACross The Universe F: Good Day Sunshine David Neitz, (Revolution) 9 Dear Prudence R: Martha My Dear Blackbird Rocky Raccoon I/C: Ballad Of John And Yoko Blue Jay Way Doctor Robert I Will Em: Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band And now I've got a feeling I can let it be. I'll be on my way; I'm so tired. Perhaps I should have known better. Goodbye. -

Thanks to you, too, 'LDVC', for keeping this on the board. Apart from @Mazer Rackham (who would now seem to have tripped himself up! 😉) where are all our good friends*? I hope I haven't offended anyone ( @Demonstone? ) Anyway, now here I am again, as a consequence, back in the unloved, sad, sorry realm of this thread, bumping it along - perhaps inevitably to bomb and crash as @Deemania since 56 may have foreshadowed - with another 🤔, about 'Neater'. Ploise exploin! I'm happy for my actual answer to be trumped! And I'll be happy to add some Grange to the beer and bubbles, which you seem to be unsatisfied with! Meanwhile, I've got silver and bronzeware to get rid of. Well here's another clue for you all: S. Powell-Pepper's the unlucky player. (* Reading the 'Perception of usernames' and 'Music / grand final' threads, maybe my team's common link isn't 'The Word' for our friends?) (And, p.s.:👍 to the 'R&B' contraction of my name!) -

Hmmm... But thanks for calling in and keeping this 'live'. A Merit Badge for you, my apparent contemporary! -

First sign of madness, talking to oneself... (Just a little one everyone missed there. Big 👍, as usual, to everyone for the funandfootyness in this thread!) -

*BUMPETY-BUMP* We have a winner at last! Not altogether surprisingly, it's Mazer Rackham who has taken home the goldware, and I have suitably congratulated him by return PM. The silverware and bronzeware is still available. Although I'm still hearing crickets, I ain't gonna give up on getting rid of it. So, to help, have a look at my first sentence for a 'clue' (or, on another view, not?!😉) My next clue after that will be a current Power player who you might have thought would be one of the first picked (you'd be able to guess who, @Mazer Rackham?) -

The door prize (as in, for first through) has been collected by @La Dee-vina Comedia, but no trophy. Who else is out there? -

Can't say I'm complaining... 😉 (And couldn't put my finger through all the 'Likes' I'd have liked to do, so here's a group 👍 to you all for the funnies and footy obs herein) -

Well (as foreshadowed) here's another ... for you all! It came quicker than I thought (nagging feeling: has someone already done it??😟...) Anyway, pretty easy, I'm thinking! You'll see Easton Wood has kept his place from @Demonstone's team, as reward for the idea EW gave me. And like 'Stone's team, mine is picked pretty much in their positions, I'm pleased to say! Of the 18 starters, David Neitz is the slight odd one out. However, I couldn't leave our multi-record-holding Captain out of this team! As to the interchange bench, they're first gamers. B: Allan Morrow (Saints) Darren Glass (Eagles) Easton Wood (Bulldogs) H/B: David King (Kangaroos) Nick Maxwell (Magpies) Brad Hill (Saints) C: Neville Fields (Bombers) Daniel Rich (Lions) Michael Long (Bombers) H/F: Craig Bird (Swans) Jack Darling (Eagles) Daniel Cross (Bulldogs) F: Sam Day (Suns) David Neitz (Demons) Paul Dear (Hawks) R: Greg Dear (Hawks) Simon Black (Lions) Anthony Rock (Kangaroos) I/C: John Lord (Demons) Jay Viney (Demons) Robert Flower (Demons) Will Minson (Bulldogs) And the usual request: Answers in a PM only please! -
Demonstone's Off-Season Offbeat Off The Wall Offering

After you kept me awake (unproductively!) last night, I've just sat down to give it one more hour before what I thought (don't know why) was going to be your midday reveal. '"Too late!" she cried!' I had concluded it couldn't be a cultural commonality; no one in the cultural world could cross-reference to a 'Jamarra Ugle-Hagan'! Of the 3 broad forms of this flummoxing fun - sport, culture or wordplay - I was going with sport (hence my PM, but I reckon you should give me some credit for my Bjork pick-up therein!) I do put an asterisk against a couple of your choices, though: "Big' Carl would have distinguished CD from (shudder) Karl Langdon, while (gag) Mr Magro has claims on SA's uniqueness. Now, with all that sadly out of the way (till next time🙂), may I purloin your thread and post here a conundrum of my own? It's still in development but it should be ready later today. -

I've tried to connect them to Bjork, via Wikipedia, but I got lost at 'Listen to this...' I battle on. Looking elsewhere for clues, I'm intrigued by the bracketed phrases in your 2nd para and/or 'fictional' in your 3rd... -

Leave it going - the weekend even! Like your self, my brain's away a bit longer. -
...and with the 'learnings' from the Jackson experience, might our recruiting and coaching staff be better equipped to assess and counter 'go home' tendencies?

My uneducated two penn'orth: For a team already demonstrably very good, how likely is it that one player - actually, less than one, being only the difference between that player and the pick 13 player - will make the difference between a premiership or not, or even in final ladder position? Whereas a generational 2023-draft group would forge their careers together - 'the whole is greater than the parts' - as our current one is (and it'd overlap nicely with that current group, too 🙂) And there's such expectation on unicorns, whereas a group of mere thoroughbreds will share that load. Unlike me to stick my head up on an actual footy discussion...

Wow, @WalkingCivilWar, it'll be hard for any other tragics to top that. Not stalking for your age, though it might seem like that, but how long were you in the turmoil of that closet for, for goodness sake? And, lie down on this couch and dredge your memory a bit more as to why you dived in to the Dees, to then have to swim so strongly against a blue tide! (#mixedmetaphorsrocknruin)
-
...but don't topple over as a result @old dee. We're prone enough as it is! And while I fleetingly have the baton, @Little Goffy, I'm 🤔 about your 🤔. Does Baha Men being the ones 'Who Let the Dogs Out' help? Or was it my cryptic(!) 'DA' reference?
-
Continuing somewhat off topic (and answers will no doubt be dotted elsewhere around 'Land): As a 50s child, blessed with a 50-year-MCC-member grandfather, I am in awe of those who managed to choose, and rust themselves onto, the Dees of that sorry score of (scoreless?) years from the mid 60s to the mid 80s. And I'm curious as to why they did! Got a story, TFA? Anyone else? (p.s. I presume yours is a confident post-25/9/21 username, not a wistful pre-? 🙂)

I meant to put a brotherhoody winky face with that post, @Demonstone. I'm glad you didn't need it. (I also thought about saying, 'Yesh, yesh, yesh, that's a keeper!' (look it up?) but I wasn't so sure... 😉 )
