WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM
Gator replied to Theo's topic in Melbourne Demons
You should be punch drunk by now. Your position has no merit. -
Stu spends his life being professionally offended. He's not stopping any time soon.
-
If a player is registered by the AFL to play in their competition I couldn't care if said player is an axe murderer. If he's eligible he's eligible. And if he can bridge the gap towards a flag I want him in my team. If he can't I don't. I'll leave the moralising to you and others.
-
Yes, I didn't mention Heppell, because he's the one I think definitely won't go.
-
I thought this thread would be about picking Essendon's list apart like a carcass. I'd be in Hurley's ear right now trying to lure him to the MFC. Of course some of our more sanctimonious supporters won't want a "drug cheat" at the club, but I'm far more interested in trying to win a flag.

Watson should hand it back before being asked. I wouldn't award anyone the Brownlow that year. It's tainted and should read 'no result'.

I don't share Curry's view that he shouldn't be anywhere the MFC, because I'm more interested in the best possible playing list and a flag. I'm not that pious. However, I have very little sympathy for the players, because they knew the were pushing the boundaries and as a collective they deliberately lied to ASADA. -

Of course we got Melksham for the "long haul", but only Stu would think that the club and AFL industry as a while wasn't very surprised by this outcome. The club rolled the dice and got burnt. -
No. He's more important in his present coaching/fitness role than playing half the year at Casey. We don't need a 33 year old running around. Mitch White or Wagner have great opportunities to put their hand up for an attacking back-flanker's role.

Google the benefits of some minor warming to the planet and higher CO2 levels (even though CO2 doesn't drive temperature). Interestingly, the only query you made about my post, which identified that 'climate change' is socialism dressed up as GW policy, was about warming being more beneficial than cooling (which is true).
-
No disrespect mate, but on a scale of 1 - 10 your knowledge of AGW is in the negative. Learn the difference between weather and climate.

Climate change has nothing to do with the climate. It's a new form of centrist socialism. At the UN's Agenda 2030 there's a list of “Sustainable Development Goals” (SDGs). Goal number 10 calls on the UN, national governments, and every person on Earth to “reduce inequality within and among countries.” To do that, the agreement continues, will “only be possible if wealth is shared and income inequality is addressed.” Christiana Figueres, the Executive Secretary of UNFCCC, warns that the fight against climate change is a process and that the necessary transformation of the world economy will not be decided at one conference or in one agreement. “This is probably the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves, which is to intentionally transform the economic development model, for the first time in human history“, Ms Figueres stated at a press conference in Brussels: “This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the industrial revolution". And you think it's about the climate ? The planet heating would be more beneficial than cooling. CO2 levels are not dangerous. The planet is not warming "dangerously". This is about wealth distribution.

This view shared by you and perhaps others is maniacal. I can't imagine one supporter that doesn't want Watts to succeed and have a fantastic year of footy. Notwithstanding my personal views as to the likelihood, I'll do cartwheels if he can kick 40+ goals. Btw, I realise his success doesn't have to rely solely upon goals, but that's where I see his highest value.

Christian Petracca's toe injury (in full training)
Gator replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
If one challenged every non sequitur argument on Demonland there'd be little time to sleep. It's Stu's stock in trade. -
I don't know about "get rid of", but some, like me, were very critical of Jones. He was very slow to get to B+ status. His 5th year on our list was very poor. I remember posting that his challenge was to become our Brad Sewell. Thankfully, in 2011, his sixth season, he bridged the gap and hasn't looked back. Players' reputations are firmly in their own control. Often when I post I'm not barracking, I'm commenting on what I see. Jack Viney's third year was as good as Jones' sixth.

Christian Petracca's toe injury (in full training)
Gator replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
Four weeks not running and let's say another 4 weeks getting back up to speed from a fitness point of view. That's 8 weeks. And bear in mind that he'll be doing a lot of non weight bearing aerobic activity in the meanwhile. He injured himself on Jan. 3, so eight weeks brings him up to about 28 Feb., which is still 4 weeks before round 1. It seems to me that there's no reason he won't be in line for our first match on March 26. There will still be NAB matches going on (March 13), intraclub simulations and the opportunity to play for Casey. Worst case he misses the first couple of rounds. -

Do I just do the facepalm photo or actually respond ? -

Because I responded after Petracca's tweet confirmed the injury. But I still thought foot, as opposed to toe. -

Many of us posted when the thread said "foot", champ. EDIT: it still does. Perhaps someone should change the title of the thread. -

You don't seem happy. Just looking at an old thread. You feature a lot.

Ah, yes. An enjoyable read. Retracted.

I'd almost forgotten the reams of literature you wrote explaining why Brayshaw shouldn't play in round 1. Naturally, he did and went on to play 21 games and placed in the RS awards at year's end. Some of us could isolate Brayshaw as an individual and assess him as such. You on the other hand get bogged down by theory.
