I'm starting to think his retirement would be a good thing. I feel for the guy but for me he is the odd man out with a developing back 6 and the addition of hibberd. I can't see him getting games in 2017 or 2018 ( if his contact is as long as suggested) unless we are crippled with injuries.

I haven't seen enough of him to be swayed either way. Averaging 16 disposals a game this year, and is only 20 years of age. If the price is right then why not.

If he wants a flag he should join GWS. They have the assets to deal and Freo are already into a few of their players.

One of Garland or Dunn will be offered up for trade. Lumumba is an interesting case. One year to run on his deal and has probably been replaced in the best 22.
  5. To make matters worse, some of our older and more experienced players are some of our must vulnerable. Remove grimes, dawes from the list and there goes another few hundred games.
  6. We could have used him this season with Salem out and our back 6 undergoing a restructure. His experience will be handy but I am keeping my expectations in check.

Wow, this hamstring injury has plagued him this year. Another 4-6 probably means we don't see him playing senior footy this season.
  8. If Hogan left us, it would be a dumb move on his part. We are surging forward with without him. I prefer with but I am confident we will find a way to win without him.

Dunn has been one of our most important players for years now. His form shouldn't surprise anyone. He has done some big jobs down back for us over some really dark times. He will never be our best but he is so damn important in that back six.
  10. Or everyone on demonland donates 50c to get him a membership. Wouldn't take long given how many active members we have. My old man has been a member for nearly 40 years, and I can tell you that if it came down to school fees and membership I would have gone without school books. Hocko must be a great parent to give up his first love of the MFC for his family.
  11. Early days yet, but he does look the goods. Certainly looks like he has top end talent.

I'm not concerned with Parish's height. 180 is fine for a midfielder.
  13. Interesting signing. I know nothing at all about him! I will be down at Casey so I will see how he develops next season.

Cubbies are cooked. Looking like a Jays v mets world series.
  15. I just can't get excited about this trade. I admire those demonlanders who have put a positive spin on it, but I'm just not seeing it. Good luck to Melksham, I wish him well. I just can't see him making any difference. Hopefully Macca can unlock whatever potential Goodwin sees in him.

No idea who he is, but the idea of trading for McCarthy is nuts. We are worried about hogan being a flight risk, why would you add another?? Imagine selling the farm for Cam only to watch him and hogan [censored] off to WA.
  17. Jeez, our second round pick is overs. The Demons are like the eager to please kid in the school yard. They roll over to please the popular kids (Collingwood, essendon) Can't recall a good outcome trading with essendon or Collingwood. They always sneak one past us. They would be loving a second rounder for melksham.
  18. My father in law is a mad Essendon man, and as a result I have had to sit through many essendon games on TV. I simply don't understand why we are going to fork out $$$ for Melksham. He isn't the player we are looking for, and a second rounder or Toumpas to then bring in melksham at 400k for 4 years isn't making us any better. Maddening!
  19. Pick 6 is a mid if we keep it. Wouldn't be surprised if we traded out of the first and second round if the right deal comes up. Weideman will be solid, but I can't see him going as early as pick 6 if we held on to that pick.

The rookie list is there for a reason. Picking up a potential late bloomer with a rookie pick is low risk high reward. Wouldn't be at all disappointed if he was given another chance on our rookie list.
  21. He would smash it as a docker. With pav and macpharlane retiring they have the cap space. Sending their first round pick and a fringe player back won't hurt them. I can see this happening.
  22. People complain about Watts being soft, have you seen melksham play?. Melksham is the softest bloke in an essendon jumper and you want to sign him?? Pass

Parish sounds like a good prospect, but am I the only one who thinks we won't be drafting in the top 20 this year? I get the feeling we will be trading any top picks. Parish would be good if we can get him but I have the feeling we are going in a different direction.
  24. I would take a punt on O'Meara. We need to inject some pedigree into this team even if it means taking an educated risk.
  25. Collingwood have the cap room for Dangerfield, their list management had been clever the past few seasons and I'm sure if Swanny is done the pies could strike a deal with 800k+ per season. Hawthorn simply cannot have the cap room for a top tier free agent.
